Saga Collection '06 / Re: Battle of Endor Wave
« on: May 23, 2006, 02:09 PM »
I think something similar to this would be a great idea. Each themed wave should have a themed accessory. I could give a **** about named stands and mini-hologram figures (unless they look like holograms from the movie), so a useable accessory would be much better. Plus, the improved value might make the figures better sellers.

For example, each figure in the Endor wave would include a generic Ewok. Each figure would have a different Ewok in it (one or two different sculpts, multiple paint styles) with a spear.

The Tattoine wave would be the same, but using Jawas instead of Ewoks.

A Bespin wave could have Ugnaughts.

After those ideas, there are multiple others they could do:

* Cantina tables (a little bigger than Hammerhead's)
* Trade Federation clean-up droids (the short silver guys)
* Pit Droids
* Utupauans (the little fuel depot guys)
* Battle Droids
* Anakin's  childhood friends (groan)
* ET Senators
* Watto's shop junk
* Jedi Council chair for each jedi master (split into 2 pieces to fit the package better)
* Clone children
* Computer terminals from Hoth

etc.

Thicker legs or no thicker legs, the Dewback needs a redo...especially with a new ball-joint-hipped sandtrooper.

Oh man...I can't wait for this wave. Sure, they're not the most articulated figures in the world, but how much action do you really need from Hammerhead? Unless of course you're making a Rorron Corrob figure, but then you would need to use a body with more clothing anyways.

Garindan is awesome too, but it looks like he's a straight leg wonder...Oh well, all he needs to do is snoop anyways.

Jared, way to go with these pics. Actually posing a figure accurately including softgoods is so important in this hobby (in my opinion) and you do it really well. The photography is excellent. I wish Hasbro would hire someone—cough*you*cough—to do their product shots. Well done.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Soft Goods Finally Acceptable?
« on: May 16, 2006, 10:55 AM »
I've always been a fan of softgoods. they take a little work initially, but then you have an excellent and poseable representation of the characters.

I mean just look at the VTSC Sandpeople...if you pose the robes while you pose the figure, you've got the best Tusken raider figure in the line. Essentially, softgoods don't just allow for more articulation, they also add articulation since you can pose the softgoods along with the figure.

I'm just glad Hasbro is finally doing a great job with it...I hope they keep it up.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: TSC Imperial Shuttle??

This is good news. I have one Imperial shuttle displayed in the landing position. I'd LOVE to hang one from my ceiling with the wings open...

I think if that Yoda had a softgoods robe made of the same material as the new Obi-Wan robe, it would be 100% better. Its not a bad Yoda at all.

Star Wars Universe / Re: Vong anybody?
« on: May 10, 2006, 04:58 PM »
You know, the Whole Vong Story Arc is a Rip of the Borg in Star Trek. I think it is the Lamest least imaginative piece of Eu that exist. I really hated that So Many Novels were wasted on that series. I miss the Good old Days! Give Us back the X-Wing Novels, More Tales would be Sweet. I do think the Clone Wars Stuff is Great, I put that right up there with the X-Wing Novels. I'm currently reading Tripple Zero, Great Stuff! I just don't get why people are hung up on the Vong Series. I have one Use for thet Series and its sitting on my Toliet Paper Dispenser.

Amen. I always thought the Vong were ****-sandwich.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Possible VTSC Wave 2?
« on: May 5, 2006, 11:37 AM »
Well, whether we need a new Vader figure or not, the ANH costume is the only one that we don't have a great SA version of. Take it or leave it.

My point is that if they are going to make a new Vader for VSTC wave 2, I'd rather it be the ANH version.

Star Wars Action Figures / Scorch leg swap
« on: May 4, 2006, 11:32 AM »
I finally got a Scorch last night, and he's a really cool figure...except for the legs. Has anyone here done a leg swap with a SA clone? Does it work out alright? How difficult is it?
