New pics of the Carkoon wave at GH.com

I love that Bib Fortuna figure...and Boussh is super ******* cool also. Han is ok. Would have like ball jointed knees, but I'll take what I can get. I wonder if he has the disguised ball jointed knees like the ROTS Dooku?

The rest I can pass on.

How about "Destroyer Of Worlds"?

Wow! I may have to use that recipe CHEWIE! Is it easier to boil and pop these pegs than the POTF2-SAGA ones? That looks really cool!

I'd like to see a new Admiral Piett.

I'm thinking that hoping for a new SA snowtrooper at this point is like hoping the sky will rain money. They'll repack that lame half-stepping SAGA snow captain from 2003.

I could see Riekkan being repacked, along with K-3PO, FX-7 (even though I could army build with this guy at my TRU), the red protocol unit, and maybe even the astromech from the Hoth set from a couple years ago.

I could see a new Hoth Leia. Other than that, I have no idea what Hasbro plans to do with this. They just did lots of Hoth figures less than 2 years ago, so I'm worrying that this will be a wave of all repacks. I doubt they're planning on giving us a Torryn Farr or Major Derlin, though I hope I'm wrong.

Anyways, here's my wishlist, for what its worth...

* New SA Hoth Leia
* New SA Hoth Han
* New Admiral Piett
* New General Veers (with all the fixin's)
* New SA Snowtrooper
* New SA Rebel Hoth Trooper (normal height!)

And NO HOTH CHEWBACCA!!!

Customs Community and Group Projects / Re: Say it ain't so!

I've never sold, bought, traded of otherwise any of my customs on ebay...or anywhere for that matter. But I can see both sides.

If the BIN price was $100, and you get 4 figures, that's only $25 per figure. Even CHEWIE said he was expecting to get $20-$25 for his figure. It all depends upon what you charge by the hour. As an artist, if I only charged $25/hr, I'd be ******. So for this guy to charge $25 per figure (essentially), its not that bad at all. I guarantee it took him more than an hour for each, if you include:

*getting the figure (travel time included)
*painting
*dull-coting
*auction photography
*placing the auction

Those are all the little things that people don't think about. When I charge hourly (sometimes its by the job), I'm charging for travel time, phone time, design time, revision time, etc.

Does this give the guy bad collectors' karma? Probably. Does this make him an evil, greedy person? Not really.

I'm not a carded collector, but I'm with you mosnab, I like the packaging!

I'm really excited about Boussh, Bib and even Han. As I've been working on my Jabba's palace diorama, they've really been the sore thumbs in my setup. Especially if you put POTF2 Boussh next to OTC Lando skiff guard.

I just had a chance to open the third of the evolution sets last night—Sith Lords.

Man, what a great set this is. Sure, its a little disappointing with Maul's elbow joints and wierd robe, but everything else, In my opinion, is spot on. To be honest, I've always preferred the Maul robes from the speeder bike set or even the Sith accessory pack, so the plastic robes don't bother me.

Dooku is awesome. I really didn't think they would be able to top the ROTS version, but I have to say that I really like this one. The cape is the correct color, and even hangs more realistically. I love the fact that you can replace his hands with the force-lightning hands!

Maul is cool. Easily the best sculpt of the character that I've seen. The figure would have been absolutely perfect with ball-jointed elbows, but its still a great figure.

Sidious is the clear winner in this set. I've posed him in a bunch of different ways since opening the package. He looks great fighting Yoda, with lightsaber in one hand and force lighting in the other. He also looks great on top of Emperor's Wrath Darth Vader, right before getting thrown down the Death Star shaft. He can be posed in so many different ways that it makes it a difficult decision exactly how to pose him for display...and that makes a stellar figure, in my opinion.

So basically I guess my rating of these sets would be as follows...

1. Sith Lords
2. Anakin to Vader
3. Clone to Stormtrooper

I just took the end of my small needlenosed pliers and popped the chin up into the helmet. Took about one second, and worked fine.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Battlestar Galactica...who's watching?
« on: September 27, 2005, 02:44 PM »
If you want to see some bitter fans of the original series, read the boards at cylon.org. Damn, these people only watch the show so they can bitch about it. One guy even says it outright.

Another guy claims that the new series is only popular because of the outcry of the fanbase of the original BSG. Yeah...that must be it.

Listen, I enjoyed the original series as a kid. But its pretty craptacular to watch as an adult. The new Battlestar Galactica really grabs my attention to the point that I'm thinking about last week's episode as I have butterflies in my stomach in anticipation for next week's episode (generalization, I know we have to wait until January for a new episode).

Anyways, my fiancee and I really enjoyed this whole season, right down to this last episode. I love the way it ended, right down to the utter tension expressed in the ending score. Excellent episode.

I can't quit thinking about this picture.

Is that what kids are calling it these days?

Did I ever tell you guys about the time my mom walked in on me thinking about the lingerie section of the Sears catalogue ?  I've never really gotten over that one.

 :P

I like to think at least once a day.  ;)
