Well, if it's any consolation, I saw these today at Target for the first time and I was happy to leave them there for the next guy. The only one I was curious about was the Shock Trooper but it did not impress.

Still no signs of them putting TVC on clearance, those are gonna be some crowded pegs in a few more weeks.

I was practically begging for an excuse to jump into this line. But like Chewie, these NEVER made it to a reasonably priced Walmart or Target around here. Nor to either of our remaining K-Marts. I would have gone nuts on clearance Hobbit figs. Guess it wasn't meant to be.

Our TRU still has a buttload of these too, and based on their stubborn refusal to lower the price, they will be collecting dust for awhile. They've still got Pirates of the Carribean figures on the pegs for chrissakes!

WAIT! WAIT!!!

IS THAT DEVIL DINOSAUR AND MOONBOY?!?!

Had those been announced previously? I don't pay much attention to this line but those are must-haves for me as the comic was one of my favorite things growing up.

Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

If anyone sees any new WD stuff featured at SDCC, can you post a head's up here?

I always seem to miss a lot of cool non-SW related stuff.

Thanks in advance!

Ugh, please don't give them any ideas!

I dread re-buying those cruddy figures again too.

Wait wait wait.  Sorry, but I find it hilarious that the review basically makes the figutes sound like the worst collectible ever, but then Pete still buys a full case of figures.  Hiw is that not drinking the koolaid?

I recognize the irony, but you have to separate the review from the collector OCD. No matter how bad they made a Clone Wars figure, I would have bought it because I am a Big "C" Completist. I think Pete is the same way. He's committed, but he's not kidding himself about the quality of these things either. I respect that.

SDCC Fett is limit one per customer.

I'm sure Brian's Toys will find a way around that.  ;)

The mystery of the missing Rex continues. Hope we don't have to wait as long for him as that scanning crew guy.

Thanks Pete, refreshing to read a non-Koolaid-drinking review of these. Some sites seem to think these are the shizz for some inexplicable reason.

Did you find them on the pegs or did you have to Jedi Mind Trick them out of the supply room?

I found a full case of these at TJ Maxx today for $14.99 each. Easy pass as Target is still cheaper at $13.98.

Saw a bunch of these at TJ Maxx today for $12.99 a pop. Was tempted by the Dropship and AT-RT sets, but I suspect these will hit clearance at Target any time now.

It still doesn't look like any Stormtrooper from the movies, IMO. They just cannot get the helmet right for some reason.

I saw it last night and really liked it.  I agree that Hunnam didn't show much range but I wasn't really there for the pilots, I was there for the gigantic mechs and monsters.

I disagree on Charlie Day and Ron Perlman, this builds on a lot of the Japanese Anime and Godzilla type movies and those always have that one character that's annoying but thrown in for humor...that was Day and Perlman (to a lesser extent).

I would have liked to have seen more of the other pilots also, but that wasn't a deal breaker for me.

   E...

That's a very good point. It's a nod to the genre. Also, you take those guys out and the movie is suddenly devoid of humor and levity. I think they needed those characters to keep some balance and not have the thing become too much of a robot-wankfest. (Not that there's anything wrong with that in my book)

Funny, for all the talk about Charlie Hunnan's range, it's Idris Elba's performances that always strike me as flat. Not just here but in The Office and Thor, etc. I guess The Wire buys you a lot of industry cred though.

Score! Picked up all of the comic wave today over lunch at Gamestop. I saw last night that these had started popping up last week there so I am glad I was still able to find all the ones I needed. Riot Gear Glenn is the bomb.

Bummer that they raised the price to $14.99 each though.

The clerk also confirmed that they would be getting the Dixons 2-pack, ship date in about 2 months.

I hit both of the closest 5 Belows up at lunch...no traces of new waves at all. Same ole Woofs and DTF swag. Maybe it's a regional thing?

Still makes me hopeful that the Tarkin/Vizsla wave will show up someday.
