Other Collectibles / Young Jedi Adventures - Crimson Firehawk
« on: July 21, 2024, 06:58 PM »
I was attracted to the Crimson Firehawk but really want to maintain focus on the 3.75" line. Then I saw a picture of 3.75" figures in the ship. The Reddit poster does say it's not a perfect match, but a new paint job and greeblies, as he noted, will make it less cartoony. What's great -- but a bad sign for the life of the line -- is the ship is only $15.99 w/ prime membership on amazon, so I ordered one. I've seen it at Ross a few times also.

Several days ago I saw an image from SDCC of a cardback with a Scout Trooper being one of the figures. The card was angled, the resolution wasn't sharp, and I wasn't fully awake. I could have sworn it read Dick Scout Trooper. I immediately thought we were getting a Jason Sudeikis figure from the Mandalorian.

So, yah, no.

But how great would it be if Hasbro immortalized him as that jackass?

Hall of Justice / Funko's 3.75" Suicide Squad
« on: October 11, 2016, 09:23 PM »
Kinda surprised I haven't see this topic yet. These are on pre-order at several sites. Joker and Harley in their main costume are apparently exclusive to the Funko unboxing and, for now, can be had pretty cheaply on ebay.

Unboxing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huHD_N7bWbE

Similar to Game of Thrones, the head sculpts look good. We'll see how the actual product turns out.

If nothing else, it's more custom fodder.

Modern Classifieds / mail-away galactic heroes
« on: January 14, 2006, 03:08 PM »
Kinda last minute.

You guys might remember the Galactic Heroes mail-away that came witth the first wave of Burger King SW promotions last year -- buy $20 worth of Hasbro SW toys between mid-May thru December of '05, postmark before 1/15/06, get a couple of Galactic Heroes figures while supplies last. These were limited to 1 per household.

While cleaning up, I found a few leftover forms. I have enough receipts and UPCs to cover them. I don't want them to go unused, so if you haven't already sent one in, send me your name and address through pm and I'll mail out a form to Hasbro in your name. I'll check my box until 12:30pm pst, today, 01/14/06.

At this stage of the promo, there are no guarantees that you'll receive a pack since it states on the form that quantities are limited.

Other Toy Lines / Wing Commnder
« on: June 1, 2004, 12:21 AM »
The movie stinks but I like the toys. Anyone else buy these? Hello? Hello?

The handful of you who picked up some figures or perused the backs at the TRU may recall the low-res images of the 2 fighters, the Rapier and Dralthi. There's a write up and pics of the prototypes here.

Highlights of the article:

- the ships never made it into production (contrary to rumors)

- the ships will be displayed at DragonCon this year (if the article is recent)

- the movie was billed as a kiddie flick so X-Toys decided to initially make toys instead of collectables.

- a detailed 9-inch line for later release was part of the plan

- production of the 3-3/4" figures totaled only 10,000 -- at least that's the way I'm reading the article, though it might have meant 10,000 of each figure. Either way, that sounds like a small run.

- sales of Wild Wild West sucked even more than Wing Commander
