It's a figure I haven't had the good fortune to find yet, but since they all seem to look different I guess looking for a specific paintjob is kind of pointless then?

Anakin's have just been a real bitch to find lately...  A local buddy has the Vader w/Table for me, but I really want this Anakin figure for my charred one...  Best paintjob I can find I guess.

Agen's almost a good base to start from on a Mace...  I'd dig some new arms (at least forearms) of course, and stick some softgoods skirt pieces that match up to Mace and it could work ok...

I think the torso's just about right.

Thanks for the words man, and glad you stopped by...  Good figure overall, and easily one to pick a couple up if anyone wants to customize too.  He's great fodder.

I'm likely going to the gf's afterwards, but your place is on the way...  sorta.  Beers it be then.

I'm hoping for some good brews at John Harvard's too...  Good to see new people as well.  I just hope the show's good since this is the first Summer show in a long time...  And it's been known to be dead at times.

Adam's a great guy all around...  It's a shame to see some ******bag at another site is dragging his name through the mud even after a refund was made.   ::)

Adam's one of the best guys I've ever dealt with online...  I can't say enough GOOD things about him really.

And I think I see Cartman's mom!

Anyway, I'm glad to see 3 new sculpts...  especially with the worries over the AT-TE Gunner being snuck into the set.  I find it odd that, so close to production, a mock-up still found its way as the main display piece.

Anyway, noticeably more detail on the Clone Commander compared to his red counterpart.

I love the Sandtrooper...

But the weird thing is, I'm sorta disappointed in the guns.  I like the Sandtrooper's BFG so far, but there's no E-11 as has been mentioned and that kinda bites.  The Clone rifles both look to be new sculpts as well, and while I think the Carbine's overall ok, the rifle looks a bit too small (though noticeably more detailed).  I'm still liking the basic figure rifle more since it's not bad and looks substantially sturdier...  Plus I think it's at least the right scale.

Great set, and I hope Hasbro's smart enough to put a LOT of this set out or people are really gonna pull their hair out trying to find it.

The irony is, if I recall correctly, I did a news post about those a while back...  :)

And where the hell is this stuff for sale?  They picture more than that lava lamp, I think, but I can't find any of this stuff for sale...  Anywhere.  Hell they have a beanbag too I'd forgotten about that I want now.   >:(

I can get mine to hold a saber with two hands as well Diddly, however it's stretching his joints at the elbows and they're popping off practically...  So I didn't count that.

The figure's good, I just am most disappointed with the arms...  I mean, a slightly more angled arm (even just the one arm) would've made the figure almost perfect.  As it stands he's some of the best Jedi Fodder ever...  However Pilot Obi-Wan looks to be THE best.  :)  At least the un-robed Jedi fodder...

Thanks for the kind words man, I appreciate it.  I enjoy the reviews...  I used to do them just randomly on my own anyway, so I was happy as a clam to do them for JD when I was offered.

It's just somethign I look at as relaxing I would think...  It wouldn't hurt my networking abilities either...  :)

I'll chitchat with ya some at the show about it Bob...  Can't wait for Saturday to get here...  I'm anxious for just a get-together.

If anyone's in PIttsburgh this weekend (hey, ya never know right?) hit up some of us at the show...  It's always a good time to get together.  Out-of-towners are very welcome, of course!

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Advertising
« on: July 27, 2005, 12:17 AM »
Hasbro claims they are "Kiddie Toys" though so it would be an interesting question to pose to Hasbro like was mentioned...  The thing is, advertising toylines is getting less favorable opinion within the industry.  Girls lines are supposedly still easy to push but boys migrating to video games has lessened the effectiveness of advertising toylines (kiddie or otherwise).

I only hear of SW getting press on Cartoon Network these days...  Not much else, and I haven't seen many commercials since 1995, though I don't watch the network much either.  Advertising's influence is supposedly down though (among toys), so seeing it cut somewhat for Star Wars makes sense if that's the case...

Why advertise a toy line kids couldn't keep up with anyway though, right? :)

Very neat.  I didn't even hear about these.

I'll have to some more searching myself.   :)

Jesse, if you find anything out give me a hollar on that too.  If it's all there is, it'll do.

Other Toy Lines / Re: The Official 21st Century Toys Thread
« on: July 26, 2005, 08:37 PM »
The problem with Wal-Mart is they're spotty on distribution.  One area will get deluged with stuff while others get nothing.

Case-in-point, my area has seen little, or no 21st Century shipments in a LONG time.  We're still stuck with choppers from a long time ago on our shelves.

Figures I've never seen...  I still need the 1st series Marines, much less their camo repainted brethren.  :(  And the Japanese, ugh...  I want those figures too but they're nowhere to be found...

Plus I've never seen a Hanomag or US Halftrack in stores...  Never seen a Panzer in stores (any paint variant)...  Never seen the 1.5 ton Dodge truck...  The Battle of the Bulge Jeep...  None of it.

I did see 1:6 Patton Tanks (RC) here and there, and the Kubels as well as Humvee's.  How that huge ticket stuff ships but 1:18 doesn't is beyond me. :(

It's frustrating as all hell when I'm doing SW figure toy runs, hoping to at least see some 21st Century figures I need and put them on layaway, and coming home completely empty-handed.

Needless to say I hate Wal-Mart and feel they're probably the WORST retailer that this line has been stuck with.  The guys at the XD forums bitch up a storm about Toys R Us, but at least they put stuff on the shelves.  Wal-Mart's a joke, and they hinder toy licenses so much that I'd never have wished this company to have gotten involved.

I'd sooner TRU carried them, put out only U.S./Allied items, and Germans were kept to an online exclusive deal of some sort.

Toy Reviews / New JD Review: Agen Kolar (Jedi Master)
« on: July 26, 2005, 04:47 AM »
Kicking off the Revenge of the Sith line of figures is a pretty darn good one, and the first figure I personally spotted at retail...  Agen Kolar (Jedi Master)!

You can check out the full review Right Here, and of course you're welcome to share your thoughts with us on this figure as well.

Agen was a fun figure to review, no doubt.  This is pretty close to perfection in an action figure, and all for the basic figure price.  To say this is rare in the modern Star Wars line (at least to this point) is an understatement.  Agen's not without flaws though...  Most noteable right now is his inability to hold a saber with 2 hands.  How Hasbro gets that wrong on any Jedi figure is beyond me at this point.  It's just common sense, but unfortunately Agen misses this point.

However, Hasbro's new Jedi robe attempt is pretty unique and something very few would argue with seeing in the future.  I'm still a softgoods fan, but this multi-piece removable plastic robe is pretty spiffy.

Tack onto that a saber with removable blade (and hooks to his belt), a great sculpt, and articulation that's pretty sweet even IF he can't hold a saber right, and you have a nice figure.  Probably some of the best Jedi Knight fodder for customizers too, ever.

Agen's a sign of great Jedi to come...  Read the review, and enjoy! :)

I'm planning to get there earlier this go-round...  May as well I figure.

Every damn time there's a funk throughout the show though...  distinct body-odor smell.  Damn scalpers.  :)

Should be good though...  I always look forward to the Toy Show.  I just hope it gets a big turnout.  I've got some things I'm on the prowl for this outing so that should be cool.

If I golfed, I'd be all about going out golfing with you and Vaughn, Bob.  I wanna golf, but it's a hobby I can't afford. :(  And I ain't gonna be the one dragging you guy's game down.  You wanna show me how to play sometime at a driving range though, and I'm there!  I'd love to try.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Captain Antilles... He Sorta Sucks
« on: July 26, 2005, 02:21 AM »
Yeah I would've thought Zett to be the popular one...  Antilles is no surprise to me though considering the piss-poor quality relative to anyone he's hanging next to really...  Not to mention he's about as interesting looking as a Palpatine figure when it all boils down.  Oddly, Bail has managed to move better than some figures, so I'm curious to see how comparatively good/bad Antilles sells.

Not that Bail's a hot figure himself though, of course. ;)

Given Zett's hopping all around I'm really disappointed his figure is so unposeable.  :(  I think that, more than Antilles, he's a disappointment just because he had a great sequence, he's really interesting looking, but he sports the weakest articulation of any of the Jedi figures.

The Utapau Warrior looks rockin' to me though...  I think eventually he'll hit Neimodian Gunner status, but till then I'm all for nabbing a small group of them.  A mini-army.  When we get Utapau Clones, and we will, they're gonna need some Indigenous species helping in the fight I figure.

I gotta get off my ass and do some toy runs here.  I've been slacking with the slow-down/stop we have had around my area.  All I've been hitting has been K-Mart, and they're dead now too.

I NEED this set!
