Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Doctor Who
« on: November 3, 2008, 07:30 AM »
It was more like he was fired by the BBC. There will be four specials in 2009 with the last one staring the Master. That last episode will have a character simpled named the doctor who seems to know alot about the Tartis. It seems Tennant's Doctor turns into that character as a twist at the end.

Rhys Ifans is the favorite actor so far to play the Doctor in the fifth 2010 season. He played Spike in the movie Notting Hill. He is suppost to be related to the actor that played the third Doctor I believe.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0406975/

Of course, James Nesbitt (from Jekyll) is still in the running for the role.

So, are you saying that Tennant will not regenerate into the next Doctor, but turns out to be some alternate character with a TARDIS?

I already pre-ordered the top book a while ago.  I hadn't heard about Gus's book till now, but I'm sure I'll get that one as well.

Since you essentially read his hand correctly, the real decision was whether you should risk nearly all your chips versus his draw.  He had 17% of the cards in the deck that could help him and two chances to hit the flush.  Perhaps a larger raise after the flop could have pushed him out since he was on a nine high flush draw...he could have been scared by a higher flush or that you had already made the flush.  Trips are a pretty hard hand to lay down, but I think I may have played as Jayson suggested and folded thinking he already had the flush.  Numerically, you probably were still a favorite before the turn, but you never know what card will hit next.

Ok this show is back AT LAST! Mr.P is a real creep! Can't for him to get some WHOOP ASS! I wounder Mrs.P power is?

Mrs. Petrelli has the power to see the future through dreams...pretty similar to Issac's power.  I wonder if Mr. Patrelli was born with his power or if he was engineered like Nathan.  His power seems to have a kinship with both Peter and Sylar's powers.

That is a neat find.  I hadn't heard of vintage preschool stuff before.

Sounds like both a bad valve and a clogged radiator.  I would guess that you may have copper piping for a house that old.  The radiator could be made of cast iron which would rust over time.  Even though I have plastic piping, I do have rust scale in my water.  Over time that could build up in the twists and turns in the radiator, thus slowing the water flow through the unit and decreasing its performance.  At the very least it would seem you might need to remove it in order to inspect the internals or try to flush it out.  If the shut off valve just keeps turning, then I suggest replacing that as well.  You may want to get a ball valve instead of the gate or globe valve that is already installed.  While a ball valve can wear out if material gets caught behind the ball, it is easier to open and close and gives a nice tight shut off seal.

Just as my wallet was recovering from the sea of CW stuff.  I wonder when the preorder will be.

I wonder about the singer from Garbage's little girl.  It would be kind of wild if she were a mini T-1000.

I have a feeling that future Peter may have done some jumping around in time.  I would think he may have went back in time to absorb Linderman's power...how else did his brother come back to life?

I'm guessing Adam's blood continues to heal Nathan.

I guess we would have to see if HRG gets hurt and if he heals again...also, it seemed to take a while to kick in.

To David -  I am wondering if it really is Nikki...she didn't seem to have a different power, which would need some sort of explanation.

The thing with Season 2 is that they didn't really plan for the strike.  It was meant to be a slow burn type thing, but then the halfway point in the season became the end of the season during the strike.  If you have the season 2 dvd set, you will see that the original plan was to have the virus released and go from there.

The scene when Mrs. Patrelli has the dream of the villians being released and all the Heroes dead was shot last year and was supposed to be part of that season.

Overall, I enjoyed the episode.  I have a feeling that future Peter may have done some jumping around in time.  I would think he may have went back in time to absorb Linderman's power...how else did his brother come back to life?  With the new "Nikki" it does not seem to be Nikki Sanders since she has a different power...it would be a little hard to explain that.  As for Micah, I think that will be shown in a later episode.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Selling Collections
« on: August 28, 2008, 07:49 AM »
I think almost all of us are sliming down in some way.

I started off as a loose collector, then switched to one open/one carded.  That even ballooned into one open/one boxed for cinema scenes, battlepacks, etc.  Now that I am finally to a point where I have a large room to display everything, I have been looking at the boxed battlepacks and the like and think how can I really display all of that.  I have considered trying to sell off the extras, but like many, I doubt that I will even be able to get the retail prices that I paid for the items.

With Sideshow taking over the 12" line, I keep looking at my boxed 12" Hasbro figures I wonder if I really need both.  Sadly, it is hard to get $10 for a figure that cost $20 ten years ago.

Ebay has made things worse with all the anti-seller regulations (unless you are a "powerseller").

I think I may just attempt to sell stuff at cost and then barring that, keep items for my son so he has stuff to play with and is not tempted by Daddy's stuff.

I just hope this doesn't push back production of the last two films.  The actors pretty much all still look young enough for the parts... but with the Apocalypse coming in 2012 we need at least the first half of the finale to be released in 2011.

I see people mention the actors ages a lot.  It is not like this is 90210 with 35 year olds playing high schoolers.  The actors who play Harry and Hermoine just recently turned 18 and they should be 17 in Deathly Hollows.  The actor who plays Ron is just one year older than those two.  They really aren't that much older than their parts.  I believe at least production has started on the last two movies.  Also, since now that all the principle actors are over 18, they can work longer hours in the UK.

I really wished they would have used it in OoTP per the book instead of Harry breaking through Snapes defenses.

I'm almost certain that's how it did happen in the book....Harry witnessed Snape's memory during an occlemancy lesson.

You are right. But it isn't till end of the series that he understands why Snape acts the way he does towards Harry. (Trying not to give anything away to those who haven't read Deathly Hollows.)

Actually that isn't correct.  If you remember, Snape would remove memories before his lessons and place them in a Pensieve.  During one lesson, Snape left the room for some reason and Harry delved into his memory through the Pensieve.

For the movie delay, did they really give a reason besides Potter movies do well in the summer and some vague reference to the actors strike?
