I'm gonna have to say to cut the political comments on all sides please.  That's a no-no 'round these parts whether you liked the monkey or lurch.

One of my favorite things, actually, is having a complete loose FF set in holders with the binocs.  I loved them as a cheap side collectible...  Loose made collecting them easier too.

Having a complete Force file set is kind of fun too...  In  weird way.  They're unique, something different you can pass to friends looking at the collection and say "this is the full set of these..." and massing that whole set wasn't TERRIBLY easy at the time.  Pretty cool to me whereas some just tossed them away it seemed.

People have a right to dislike the opportunistic points of the hobby, but I say that reserving it for the scalper is better than the guy offering imported stuff.  The end result is that this is stuff not released yet and there's gonna be premiums paid to get that.

More power to anyone who wants to buy it though, and as I said before, "To Each Their Own" is the best way to look at it.  The buyer may regret the purchase or just finds satisfaction in being caught up nice and early.  No skin off my ass though, so that's fine by me...  The fat guy with mustard on his shirt that cleared Wal-Mart out of Clones though?  Yeah that schmuck should have the air let out of his tires...  Oh wait he can't afford a car.  Well someone should take his Filet 'O Fish off him.

I WILL have Apes in my Cantina.

I'm hoping for grand fodder from all this though...  A Terminator Endo Skeleton is what I've hoped for to use as a Phase I Darktrooper for ages now.  Just need to add the blade/shield to his arm and voila!

I think I saw you at C3 and got your picture while I was back and forth between the show and the FFURG.com booth.

Add this name to the list: KILO89 . He has re-registered on Rebelscum again, but his defense is that "I havet been here in 3 week. I read the rules"

 ::)

Scum lets people blatantly call each other names, fight, bitch and moan at each other, pick on one another...  How that guy is the guy they decided to **** on this month is beyond me yet there's all these other tools who there seems to be a fear to ban them.

To me, one more kid posting random asinine things at Scum isn't a HUGE deal...  Handling all the fights and ridding their hell hole of the trolls and knobs would probably be a bigger and more worthy task.  God forbid something good clean that **** sandwich up though.

That is true Tamidala...  When a normal sized cart is about as maneuverable as a sopping wet sponge, a cart twice as big and heavy probably isn't much better.

Which brings me to my hatred of the carts at our grocery stores...  They all have sticky wheels, the handles are always sitcky from unclean people and their unclean kids, and they all pull to one side or the other.  No fluid movement.

There's a signature waiting to happen.

Yeah I should've specified mimicing the SW line rather than just blanketly saying Hasbro...  But you got the point. :)

Customizing Tips and Tricks / Re: Mixing Figures
« on: October 30, 2005, 04:02 AM »
Thanks for the plug Ryan, and I re-suggest it for you Hemble to go to www.FFURG.com to find out all the detailed tutorials you could want and of course you can always ask there and here for help on anything you can't find.

That said, the Star Wars line tends to be a mix-match of things that genuinely match up well and things that don't.

For instance, the pack-in TIE Pilot for the TIE Bomber (with bendable knees) can have those legs transplanted to an IMperial Officer (The POTJ one).  The fit is flawless and it adds poseability to your officer figs...

Another one that's pretty much a straight fit is that the Saga Endor Rebel's whole upper body can be transplanted to the POTF2 Endor Rebel's legs.  Voila, instant neutral stance Endor Rebel but who has some poseability to the arms.  Not too bad...  The only mod is cutting the post I believe on the lower torso.

So that's some ideas of things that work, but I'd say that a bit better than half of the time the parts DON'T fit exact and you maybe have some reworking to do for it to really flesh out right.  It's a lot of trial and error but as you get into the hobby you get a better grasp of what works, techniques to MAKE things work, etc...  :)

My take on Joes for fodder is that the gear sometimes appeals to me more for customizing than the figures.  The odd head does roll out of the Joe line that is good...  Scarlet heads have been some of the only decent female fodder heads outside of SW to show in a while so there's often something there to like but in general that's all I prefer...

Joes have a look I can spot too easily a lot of the time.  Especially older joes.  A lot used the old Joes back in the vintage days before these newfangled Star Wars figures, and early customs pre-modern line would have a Clutch or Grunt head on them and it just looked too "familiar" to me I guess.

The joints/articulation stick out like a turd in a punchbowl too for me so it's not something I like to see really.  Mimicing Hasbro but improving it is something I like with customs...  So GIJ's very unique and easily identified arms/legs and articulation tends to be a detractor to me, but that's just my personal tastes with customizing too.  I've seen everything from non-poseable figurines to Stikfas figures used in customizing so to each their own.

$1.89 is my hoped for mark...  Be nice if this became average again.  $1.60 is asking for just too much from the oil bastards Josh. :)

OK...

So I have a good one about my gf's youngest son (8) who got a Neimodian Commander the other night at Wal-Mart, and this also has a tie-in to a bad habit I have that's also kind of amusing to kids...  No it's not farting on command.

I do a lot of different voice impersonations, for no reason.  Laugh all you want but I've managed to perfect some mimics and it's been quite useful in wooing the ladies!  No, seriously...  Stop laughing.

Anyway, so my gf's daughter whines like Napolean Dynamite did, which if you saw that you know what I mean.  So the kids know/like that movie and when I hear her I'll kind of mimic her but in a ND voice...  OK, the boys laugh hysterically and the daughter gets pissed off which makes everyone in the car laugh but the girls.

Well my gf's son gets a Neimodian the other night...  He comes downstairs with it and gets me and his mom's attention and starts in with his own impersonations...  But this time it's "Neimodian Dynamite".  Yes, an 8 year old came up with Nemodian Dynamite all by himself and that's funny ****.  And at the same time he's going "God, that Vader guy sucks!"  and "Hey Vader, I bet you take that TIE fighter off some sweet jumps."

His mother was even laughing and she secretly loathes my hobby and that they ask for stuff when we're out looking for me.  :)  I wouldn't have given him that much credit but man, Neimodian Dynamite sounds like a web strip waiting to happen.

Pens game tonight was dismal.  They had the canes number most of the game then pissed it all away in the 3rd.  Totally asinine moves and decisions.

The positive is that  the goaltending was NOT to blame and Sebastian Carone (I can't even spell his name) held his **** together.  The game that tied it was actually Lemieux and Crosby's fault for a stick tip and a screen.

The good thing though, was sitting in a bar tonight and seeing that all the college ball got turned for the game.  Pittsburgh's back to being into hockey even with a losing team.

Pittsburgh's been in bleak darkness most of the October month.  We're to go into the 60's over the next couple days but things are totally fall here for the most part with the ugliness being pretty rampant.  TONS of rain too, making up for that tail-end of Summer where we were short of rain.  That's fine, but it's hell on the joints.
