Ken Russell died yesterday...

Lair of the White Worm was freaking awesome...he will be missed. I wish more directors would take a page from his book.

I agree it was somewhat of an odd choice, it's not exactly an iconic vehicle by any stretch. I appreciate that they tried something different with the playset features too, lackluster as they may be.

That said, I am a hardcore completist and have felt barely any interest in picking this up. Oh, I definitely will at some point, but after the first couple of weeks it became apparent these weren't going anywhere and a serious price reduction would inevitably be coming.

I'd bite for $50 from a brick and mortar...I can't see buying something this big and having it arrive unscathed from any online joint, especially HTS.

Damn, I was psyched to get this thing back in April when it first came back up. But this latest price is insane! It's a fantastic toy...I recommend it highly to anyone who may be on the fence.

It's weird to me now that these were going for such crazy jack on eBay just last year. Sometimes it does pay to hold out.

I don't see why they need my email address to cast a vote. So I will not be participating. Sorry, Kneesa!

Ok, good news to share: the Walmart exclusives are starting to hit!

I picked up the "Ultimate Gift Set" tonight. This thing is actually kinda cool I think, for repack swag. The packaging is very sleek, sort of angular with some neat stylized CW graphics, and there's a diorama-esque backdrop which is pretty sweet. You get 5 figures for $30, so it's not a terrible deal money-wise. Definitely a good starter set for kids. Oh, and all of the figures have unique game cards with I think some of which are probably new. (nice grammar)

I also saw a few reports popping up over at RS that people are starting to find the 2 new deluxe sets too, so that is REALLY excellent news. I expect to see these hitting here anytime now. Fingers crossed.

Next development will be telling...if he's sincere about wanting to be a better player and person, he'll take the 2 games and shut up.

If he's a typical hypocritical dbag, he will appeal it.

Good luck against the Saints!

That is hilarious...I have heard every single one of those comments, except for the eye thing.  :D

I think your mileage varies considerably with some of these stores geographically.

K-Mart is absolutely the WORST store by a million miles around here, I mean, they are just unbelievably bad. I work right across the street from one of their stores in a nice part of town and their SW section is a wasteland. They've had the same 5 cruddy figures loitering on their pegs for literally months.

We got plenty of Wave 9 in the Wallys here though, so I think it just depends on where you live.

Well, much like True Blood, the source material and show really vary pretty significantly, so I wouldn't really qualify any discussion of the comic storylines as spoilers. Shane gets killed very early on in the comic, so they have long since left that in the dust. If you're still keen on reading the comics that's cool, but those things have been around for years so it's hard to spoil something that stale to begin with. But ya, will try to be more careful in the future, sorry.

Kirkman basically said he is letting the storyline develop organically, and has not committed to any particular continuity from the comic, so I think we'll continue to see some significant divergence between the two.

SO why was Rick surprised to learn Lori was pregnant if the doctor told him back at the CDC?  ;)

Technically though, the ad states the pricepoints included under "all" and it only goes to $8.99 (Like $7.99-$8.99), so in theory they shouldn't be adjusting if they don't want to.  The holiday rush may prove fruitful for people to try though since it's a lot easier to overlook.

Bingo...I had the misfortune of trying to get an adjustment from someone who was halfway on the ball, so she pointed out my purchase did not qualify because of the original price. :(

In what can only be viewed as a troubling development, HTS has pulled the mini Y-Wing Scout Bomber off the site completely. You can officially no longer get this toy from the company that was supposed to be making it.  ::)

Just the latest kick in the nuts for fans of this line.

Thanks Hasbro.

Thanks for trimming down to a paltry 19 figures next year.
Thanks for cancelling those 2 Deluxe sets you tauntalized us with earlier this year.
Thanks for not shipping the Mando Assault Transport in time for holiday shopping. Or even putting it up on your own website so we could order it, months after the other online etailers got theirs.

I don't know why my money has suddenly become abhorrent to you, but if you don't want it anymore, I can find someone else who will. Pretty sure.

It's so weird to see what they are and are not sticking true to the comic book on...

I'm curious what you are thinking of specfically here?

I have read a lot of the comics, and most of my recollection centers around Michonne, the "Governor", Rick's hand, etc. (Oh yeah, AND SHANE GETTING KILLED!) They aren't going anywhere near that stuff it seems like. So they must be pulling inspiration from the ones I haven't read yet.

That ending last night was BRUTAL, and completely awesome. I wasn't sure where they would ultimately end up going with the Sophia arc, so it was somewhat of a shock. Really well done though, even before that point it was a pretty powerful scene. Poor Herschel looked like he was in shock.

Great point brought up on the Talking Dead later: (I hate shows that talk about other shows but this one is just too full of good information to pass up, plus they had Kirkman on last night)

Otis would have been the one who "corralled" Sophia and got her into the barn, and he never even found out she was missing befoe Shane offed him, so it would seem NOBODY knew she was in there. This is the implied backstory anyway, according to Kirkman.

The slow descent of Shane is compelling, but this is going to have a short shelf life. He can't just keep getting crazier and crazier, sooner or later he is going to get killed by his own people. Probably Lori, or maybe even the kid.

I think that final scene pretty much repudiates Shane's whole take on Rick not being tough enough to survive in a walker world. I expect we'll see a leaner, meaner Rick going forward.

Damn, I'm gonna miss this show!

JTA is postulating that there may be multiple version of Chewie shipping, with variant paint apps. Anyone else notice this?

I have at least 2 of them that look more or less the same, but I do recall when seeing them for the first time thinking "that's not nearly as dark in the face as everyone was complaining about."

Running change maybe?

Yeah, I braved a few Wallys over the past few days just out of curiosity if they would make any effort to put these out. Their toy aisles were a wreck and the SW sections in particular looked pretty lackluster.

If they didn't have the sense to make these exclusives available during the biggest shopping week of the year, there's no telling when they will show up. Really stupid on their part I think.
