Saga Collection '06 / Re: Return of the Beast Assortments

The Dejarrik pieces are some of the most underrated possible future figures.  I'd take 2-packs of those for sure.  I love the one that throws the other one on the table.  That thing is so freaky.  One of the most underrated scenes in all of Star Wars.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Target Clones Return?!?
« on: August 17, 2005, 02:11 AM »
In my area the pegs actually got phased out.  Like they expected a higher sales rate, but then they just didn't get it so the figs took up a deluxe peg instead during a little shifting of pegs/resetting.  That's at the 3 Targets I can hit reasonably often...   :-\  This has been a bit of a weird instance.  Hope some at the site here were able to find some good deals with this figure.  I know I'd like to have built a nice group of this Clone type for cheap.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: How big is your army?

You're well past me Jason...

I have 30 white Clones total (rounded) between #6, #41, and TE Gunners...  :(

Only a handful of Commanders, 1 Bacara, etc...  I've not been having luck with Clones still, and on the variants I've only seen a single black pilot.  No Shocktroopers and no Green Commanders.

Retail blows.

That date stamp alone kind of blows a lot of the talk that it "takes x ammount of time to get y figure to retail" bull**** too I think...  I guess some fibbing for public relations was needed?

I'd like both the green and white head variants just for diversity's sake, however I've seen neither at retail yet.  I certainly hope one's not a total biznitch to find though, as I'd like a few of both.

How's that guy look on an RT?  I got a #6 Clone on one and he looks as good (or better) than the pack-in figure does.

MMMMmmmmmm Super Articulated Dueling...  MMMMmmmmmm ***drool***

Many kudos to Jared's photo-skillz by the way.  He's been putting together the highest quality image database on the net I think, and working hard to do it.  Many thanks for that kind of work.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: RotS Deluxe Clone 3-packs

Perhaps...  It's possible they've whipped these up for themselves too, but weird.  I know this hasn't surfaced at retail so it seems odd that they'd get it for themselves.

On a completely seprate note...

My gf's kids have gotten more into the basic figures since they can actually sometimes find ones they like, such as the oldest boy got an AT-TE Gunner the other day and the youngest found a Clone Commander.

Anyway, the kids of course want figures I can hardly find for them...   ::)  But they're finding some stuff at least.  So the other day they were at Wal-Mart and each spotted the 3-packs on the pegs and their mother picked them up for them.

She asked me that night, "Do they take stuff back that's been opened?", and I asked her why she wanted to know.  She told me the boys had gotten these Clone sets and opened them but were mad at how bad the figures were.  The youngest boy's exact words were, "These things suck, they don't move.  I like the other ones".

So I was down over the weekend and they were re-telling me about their Clone woes, and I just laughed and said I knew how they felt.  :)  Kids say the darndest things.

JD Sports Forum! / Re: NHL 2005-2006 Thread
« on: August 16, 2005, 12:30 AM »
Ties are a killer for sports I think and the NHL needs every bit of help it can get to make their game exciting and interesting to EVERYONE.  Ties are a bigger drag then on the slumping NHL than other sports I believe, so I'm ok with the shoot-out format.

If the NHL would enforce rules in general though, I think you'd see a hell of a lot less ties, but that's just my opinion.

Anyway, I'm optomistic with the new format and will watch anxiously to see how it's received.

In Pittsburgh news we got Leclaire...  Who if he remains healthy will be another big contributor to the offense.  He's got the hockey curse of back problems though, soooooo hmmm.  Pitt's all-too-familiar with that injury (hell, I even have back problems from my days playing...  I think it comes with the game).

I wonder how much Rechi being here, and being a close friend of Lemieux's, got us to push for Le Claire?

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Jedi After Episode 3?
« on: August 15, 2005, 08:10 PM »
I thought I recalled reading that in one VD too Valin... Cool.

I think even on Coruscant, among the "common folk" you'd see a lot of Jedi-Esque outfits too.  Though you could also see the pants and shirt deal too like Han since that's not the most elaborate set of duds either...  I'd expect pretty vast and varied styles of dress.  The Jedi outfit looks like something a poor man may wear though and it seems the galaxy's teeming with poor...

Though look at Ani/Padme in their disguises to leave Coruscant...  Refugees in some interesting garb there.   :-\

« on: August 15, 2005, 08:01 PM »
I'd buy them just for the base at that price, but the fodder's great too.

Shame those later sets were so poor compared to the originals.  There are some actually really great figures in those first two 3-packs for the Council.  Yarael Poof and Oppo still rank as 2 of my favorite Jedi figures.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: "Evolutions" assortment...
« on: August 15, 2005, 07:52 PM »
Perhaps, however I'd just like to find the 3 official ones at this point...   ::)  These have been nothing short of a bastard to find in my area, and it's frustrating beyond description for me since this is the kinda stuff that makes collecting worth it to me.

Matt's sending me one he got, but I'm watning at least 2 of each, and now I know some kids who want these sets too after seeing me look at them online...  And the Clone set I want a ton of, I'm just dreading the thoughts of trying to find it.  :(

Yeah I didn't know all that either.  Cleared some stuff up.

I'm kinda bummed about Poof.  I dug him.  nice figure for his Council figure too...  Same with Oppo getting a kick-ass figure.

TRU had a butt-load of these out my way today.  I was shocked.  Target had a handful too.  First I've seen them in abundance.  Seems like at least some vehicles are shipping in good numbers.
