Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Jarhead

I'd like tos ee it but it's one of those movies I'm thinking I can't get the gf to go see...

The shot of the A-10's buzzing over the infantry is just great though and really makes you wanna check that out.  Looked nice...  The music though is great too, at least in the commercials, and seems to fit the bill.  Sorta reminded me something of a modern version of Full Metal Jacket or some such, maybe a little more light-hearted at times, i dunno.

Looks good though to me.

Welcome aboard Longhorn, have fun here...

Any questions and just ask.  Customs and photonovels are big here, but browse the other portions for good in-depth and pretty damn knowledgeable people on collecting of all kinds from vintage to modern to high-end stuff.  Lots of good eggs here...

"more adult"...  Good way to look at it, not to mention that all problems (be they adult or children) are dealt with much more swiftly.  :)

WEll, welcome aboard!  Uh...  punkinhead.   :-\  Could make a great avatar for that.

Anyway, welcome over to JD, have a blast, enjoy the site...  Any questions and the friendly staff (and even the unfriendly staff) can help you out.

Take it easy.

Meaning the Sigma Six stuff IA?

I'm not a fan...  I like the packaging, it's probably the most innovative ever, and the gear's fantastic.  The sculpts just cannot do a thing for me though...  To me, an improved 3.75" line would've been a MUCH better received line, but that's just my opinion...  S6 seems to be slow selling so far but it's early in the top season.

I like the 3.75" line they're moving with now...  It's better.  Needs improved articulation I think, like a standard improvement to the line overall not just wrists here or boots there.  There's distinct collector effort there though.

The S6 packaging is so freaking great though.  I'd have killed for that kinda stuff with the 3.75" line when I was a kid.

Thanks Jason, much appreciated...  The Evolutions sets were all kind of "just shy" of perfection as we'll see with the others.  A little disappointing but not near anything worth bashing them over for certain.  I really do hope the concept continues with new sets at some point because this is a far superior idea than VOTC is if you ask me.

I'd sooner pay $20 for a boxed set of Imperial Troopers (Storm, Snow, Scout) like this, than $10/figure for any of them, plus the trouble of tracking many down.  3 at a time is nice.

So hopefully Hasbro has their ears to the ground on this one because I think the fans have spoken with their wallets and their voices on Evolutions being Hot Hot Hot at retail and within online communities.

Toy Reviews / Re: New JD Review: Neimoidian Warrior
« on: November 4, 2005, 12:46 AM »
I'm away in the evenings a lot anymore and don't have access to the bits and pieces of the site I need to, so I'm just late getting to posting him. :)

Yup, this week around we are looking at the Neimoidian (I probably misspelled him as Neimodian throughout the review because it's a habit I have) Warrior, or as they call him around here, "The Target Exclusive Frog".  Which that's not fair...  he's pegwarming at TRU too, and Wal-Mart, but for some reason there's literally like 10 pegs of him at one Target in my area and it's almost a joke at this point.  Anyway, check out the Full Review Right Here

But you're right Ryan, I do like this figure, a lot...  He's a solid sculpt, he's got moderate articulation (ball/socket knees would have made me 180 on any negativity I had on this figure really), and his outfit is kind of neat that they cast him in metallic plastic.  He looks cool.  I think his "Commander" figure is evne cooler looking and to me it's more the "trooper" while the bronzed guy is maybe a ceremonial guard instead, but that's another topic in another section...

The big flaws I found were the lack of knee joints and a lack of a decent weapon.  The knees override the weapon, though I suppose it'd be more prominent to me if the knees were articulated in the first place.

I don't mind the angle-cut arms though...  I gave the figure a rifle I had, and he held it with 2 hands perfectly, and he can also put his arms "at ease" at his side, etc...  I can live with the angle-cut arms so long as Hasbro doesn't short the knee joints.

*cough*Saga06HanCarbonite*cough*

Anyway...  I think more people should have a little squad of these fodder frogs to hang out with your Separatist Leader figures.  As a matter O Factly, given the number of Neimoidians everyone seems to have, I would suggest we buy 2 for every opened Separatist Leader we have aside from Grievous, Dooku, and Sidious.  All the others need some half-assed security to get mowed down by Anakin afterall.  And if we got 2 per leader that'd really free up some space I think.

Well Brad pretty much settled that. :)  Urination it is...

Dude, just go harass Rebelscum, they're your kinda folks.  Hell, post hard enough and they'll even slap the "Mod" title on ya.

Other Collectibles / Re: SW Lamps of All Kinds
« on: November 3, 2005, 03:40 AM »
Hey man,

Is it the actual Lava Lamp like this?

Not to be confused with the goofy skull/helmet lamps that are being ad'd as "Lava Lamps".

I didn't know ANYONE was finding these.  It's' good news...  I may hold off incase I can find one (It'd be a bitch to ship I'm thinking) but I may wind up taking you up on the offer man...  I'm gonna go looking this week, see what I can find...  I'll get back to you on the Shocktroopers too asap (when I'm sure I can get you paid, don't wanna jump the gun).

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Who wants a new SAGA Battle Droid 3-pack?
« on: November 2, 2005, 09:12 PM »
Man, what planet are those from?  Must have a heavier gravity than Earth due to their squatness and saggy skin.  It also appears to be hot as they are panting.

The Empire and Republic have explored some strange, strange worlds...  Those look ferocious.

*scratches his head*

I MAY want this now...  That combination of parts is ok, but I dunno...  I know my gf's kids want him if he's not too hard to find, but I just don't get why they'd do this kitbash and not just a straight VOTC re-release?  They're both ROTJ...

Should've done a VOTC re-release in ESB Deco.

The Wookiee Arcade / Re: Star Wars Strategy Game Coming
« on: November 2, 2005, 06:14 AM »
I've changed the title here but also, there's a new trailer up at the Empire At War site as well as there being a trialer on the Episode III DVD for your viewing pleasure.

The game's really shaping up nicely.  I like the ground units that aren't Force Commander units now and that's a major plus for me.  I've taken it in stride as just expansion of what the Alliance has and uses rather than replacement, but I believe they did incorporate some elements of FC so that's cool.

I'm still thoroughly disappointed in the TIE Crawler irregardless of "excuse".  I'll accept it, but to me the TIE/C in West End Games books was and always shall be the true TIE/C.  :)  Just a great and more traditional design.

The unit management on the field looks fantastic.  I'm fearful though of how that space combat is gonna play out.  That could be a MAJOR bitch to control, especially if at the same time you've got tons of other stuff going on...  It could be a really complex game to master, and it's breaking some new ground for this genre so it'll be interesting.

The unit designs look great, and it plays out the galactic Civil War like I like it too...  Big huge battles, the Alliance AREN'T a bunch of pussies but an army/military just as organized and threatening to the Empire as the CIS is to the Republic...  They just are against a much more militaristic society that has total control and a mightier military that can be focused anywhere at any time.

The fact it's pre-ANH but there's multiple fighter types, the Mon Cal, etc...  That's good news.  I hope they incorporate maybe the A-Wing early as it has been established and not that BS "post-ANH" crap.  Same for Interceptors if they're making the space combat diverse in unit types.  I'm thinking they won't though because the Fighters and Bombers seem like the standards.

I'm not sure how I'm taking that 3rd element of beasts on the field...  I mean if it's a rancor on Dathomir I can see it...  Or a Nexu on the Gran's planet or whatnot...  But like if it's a Rancor on Alderaan that'd be just dumb.  I dunno.

I'm a little concerned about a lack of linear story following Star Wars too.  It could kill it somewhat for me if it changes the story totall, I don't know.  Have to see how this plays out, just voicing some early thoughts...  The trailer blows you away though, go look at it.  The visuals of ships blowing up...  The Destroyer iwth a HUGE ass chunk of its starbord side blown out and decks exposed...  That's spooky, hardcore military stuff.  The screaming as troops run into battle just adds to it too, and makes you think of old-style military charges, or the D-Day landings...  Amazing.  Go Watch NOW!

Revenge of the Sith / Re: When will the ROTS clearances start?
« on: November 2, 2005, 05:03 AM »
I got slammed with AT-RT Drivers and Obi Pilots out here in the last month.  The area's stores all seemed to get this wave, and kind of like the SA Clone I have to say that they sat at a certain saturation point but they've dwindled.  HOpefully the same can be said for your area Spuffy.

I'm surprised how many we had but now how few there are...  SA Clones are the same.  I need to do a tally on what I've got for Clones and decide if I need to get to a specific "round" number like I usually like to do or just call it quits because the SA Clone is NOT pegwarming but rather he's steadily marching out the doors.  Hasbro just seemst o have finally found that right ammount of them out there for everyone to find enough.

The AT-RT Drivers did the same, and I went from seeing as many as 20 at one store to now seeing no more than 3 at any given store.  That's a hell of a sales rate if you ask me. :)

The Obi Pilots are sometimes more easily found, but not often.  They're about the same...  And oddly enough the Mustafar sentry isn't even pegwarming.  Nothing is really sitting here save for Mothma, Palpatine, Organa, and the Neimodian.

Modern Trading / Errors/Variations & Extras
« on: November 2, 2005, 02:26 AM »
Along with my regular extras I've got, I picked up some errors and variations along the way that I really don't collect but that I hoped would help me score a figure I needed or two along the way...    There's a couple extras I've accumulated someone might need too like Ephant...

Here's what I have:

-Saga Elan Sleazebagano (With Ears)
-Commtech Jawa W/Gonk Droid (No Pegholes In Feet)
-Saga Ephant Mon (Damaged Card)
-ROTS Anakin (Sith Eyes Variation)
-Episode 1 Royal Guard (2 of the Royal Guard Figures)

These are just some things I thought someone might want or need for their collection since some of these weren't the easiest things to find.  I'd consider selling them but I'd really much rather trade for some of the things I am still on the prowl for instead...  Not asking more than what they cost me if I should sell them but please if you have some things I need, I'd dig trading right now.

I need:

-Red Shocktroopers
-501st Tactical Ops Trooper (I'd dig the Battlepack Clone too if anyone wanted to give one up?)
-Evolutions Clone Set (Obviously I'd give more than one figure for this  ;D )
-Wookiee Heavy Gunner
-Cat Minn
-Holographic Plo Koon
-Holographic Ayla Secura
-Fan Club Covert Ops Clone (Figuring I maybe actually want one, but like the Evo set I'd be generous with this)

That's about it that I need, but I do need that stuff especially the Shocktroopers...  Let me know if anything on the list is something you need and I'd gladly trade 1-for-1 on most of what I need.

Thanks for checking this out. :)
