Vintage Kenner / Re: Latest vintage acquisition
« on: December 12, 2009, 11:12 PM »
I got my vintage open belly Tauntaun in the mail yesterday, with the original box as a bonus. It's a nice piece, the rubber on the belly is in good shape with minimal yellowing. One of the legs is a bit loose but I can live with that.

I also took another stab at the Blue Apron Ugnaught variant. Let's hope the one that shows up actually resembles the color in the auction photo this time. (fingers crossed!)

Pete, very comprehensive analysis...kudos.

I do think we're likely to see more than 32 TCW figures total for 2010, especially with the Hondo wave not shipping this year now. And I agree they are going to be getting more profile than Legacy next year.

I do NOT think even Hasbro would be so stupid and short-sighted to put this line on hiatus at the same time as the Legacy line. There is no way they are going to go that long between figure waves, I just can't see it. For one thing I don't think their fiscal model could support a business plan like that. '

Ideally we should be getting a new wave of 4-6 characters every other month. That's six waves a year and a grand total of 24-36 figures, depending on re-packs, etc.

EE just revised the preorder schedule for these...now estimated to arrive in January 2010.  :(  Boo...

I'm suddenly glad I bought the Vebb - a 3 month gap in figure waves is hard to stomach.

Yep, there is going to be a big ole TLC drought next year after that EU Wave hits. I can't imagine having to wait until AUGUST for new figures! That sucks!

I'm wondering if the 32 TCW figures they are counting from spring to fall is the whole batch for 2010 or if it omits stuff coming out in Jan/Feb or Nov/Dec.

And again, quit crying about the Octuptarra Droid, Hasbro. I bought the first one I found and would love to add another, but Walmart seems content to let this gather dust on their shelves rather than drop the price in store. $35 is just too much.

If it's Jocasta Nu we should all demand a recount.  :)

When they say they're not doing it, it usually means they are.  Sail Barge?  It's a long shot, but hey.  Who knows anymore.

I hope you are right...they have been shouting from the rooftops about not tooling the Twilight for the TCW line, and it just doesn't make a lick of sense to me.

But yeah, their denials seem pretty hollow after getting exposed on the Cloud Car.

It will interesting to see how long they last especially since ROTJ has been hitting Target hard.  One thing is for certain CW and SL figs are not moving at that store - it seems like the same ones have been there forever.

A lot of people have had all those TCW figures since October...maybe Hasbro could think about squeezing in a new wave sometime before 2010.  ::)

I don't know what up with the Legends stuff...I never see anyone buying that line; there are TONS of them at our local TRU's and they have literally never gotten in any of the black card TLC line yet. Crazy...

Not sure where else to stick this, but I think this is the right thread.

Hasbro once again denied any interest in producing the Twilight for the TCW line next year. Someone from Jedi Insider asked a really well thought out question about this in the latest round of Q&A, but Hasbro was totally negative about it in their response.

I just don't get their adamant opposition to this vehicle. I think it would do really well with the proper marketing.

Let's hope they are just lying through their teeth like they did about the Bespin Cloud Car though.

From the latest round of Hasbro Q&A, they confirmed:

R4-P17 is definitely coming out in 2010. No plans for Wat Tambor, Nute Gunray, OOM-224 or more Gunship pilots.

Damn, I would really love an animated Wat!

I do think we'll see a Poggle though, wish they had asked about that.

In the latest round of QA, Hasbro confirms 32 TCW figures next year before the package relaunch in the Fall.  ;D

What do you know, I actually won the carded Vebb with my Best Offer. I should have that bad boy in hand by next week...WOOT!

I'm sure I'll still send away for the free one next year, but in the meantime I finally have a new TCW figure to drool over!

Happy Hannukah!!!

The Legacy Collection / Re: Legacy Collection Battle Packs

Found the new BPs (Gelabrub, Geonosis Gun thingy...). I noticed that the Geonosis assault set was under the 'The Clone Wars' logo, instead of Legacy Collection.' :o Weird.

You must have come across an old one in the Blue/White packaging then. The ones shipping now are in the Red/White packaging and have been corrected with The Legacy Collection label. I grabbed 2 of the TCW ones because I wanted these bad boys for my gunships and it was an easy way to justify the expense.

I saw the Kamino conflict BP for the first time tonight at TRU...some pretty weak sculpts, IMO.

So just for kicks I submitted a Best Offer on the carded Vebb currently on eBay. The seller is US, so I'm less skeptical than I might normally be trying to snag something this far in advance. The Buy It Now price was $37.99, which is totally absurd, but I'm curious how much less he would actually be willing to take. I don't expect he'll bite on my price, but it never hurts to try.

I believe I may have 1 or 2 of those vintage pieces I can let go...I will check tonight. I have several loose pieces from the Star Destroyer and Ewok Village sets that are superfluous.

The Legacy Collection / Re: Legacy Collection Comic Packs

These or the non-exclusives?

From Galactic Hunter:

"Walmart Comic Packs: 2010
12/8/2009 9:04:58 PM | Reported by Adam
The new Hasbro Wal-Mart Exclusive Comic Packs are not going to ship in 2009 according to our friends at Hasbro's PR firm. Expect them some time in the new year, most likely Spring."

So I guess it is just the exclusives that have been pushed back...
