Watto's Junk Yard / Re: How long has that damned RS been down?
« on: August 18, 2005, 01:05 AM »
First...

Well, Jesse and Chewie have both tried to get me over here so, here I am.   :P

With RS down for a while I'll need to get my fix somewhere and if I can do that without endless posts of crap in the modern sections I may just stay!

   E...

Holy ****, you're here Eric! :)

Big E's a memeber of the PSWCS, and a buddy of mine.  Also was my line buddy at Celebration 3 (along with Jeff and Jason), where I was pretty much flew solo during the event for 90% of my time at it.  Me and E cashed in our badges for our store goodies together.

Good times man!  You gotta get out to Western PA sometime bud.  Glad to have you aboard finally.

Second...

If anything we've worked against increases in traffic at our site considering we like to "weed out" the people who are here to just be peckerheads.  And they do show up...  Some of them are the people that some of us have had issues with elsewhere, some are just post-padding morons that fit in better at Rebelscum since there's many of their ilk to compete with...  But either way we don't just let them play their game, they get das boot.  Sure they could increase traffic, but why let them drag our home down?  **** that, and **** them.

Third...

Creature Cantina.com sucks.  Sorry Bill.  You've known this.

Nice score on the Japanese figures Vator...  Wish I could find them myself.  Can you post any pictures or give some reviews?

I wish 21st would get over itself with these asinine headsculpts they keep doing though.  You get liek 2 neutral guys then a buncha screaming guys.  Looks like half the group is in a Banzai charge by the pics I've seen.  :-\

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: The Tantive IV is... NOT the Tantive IV?
« on: August 18, 2005, 12:29 AM »
So TOS one and TMP one were the same?  Was TMP one the 1701-A or was it just 1701?  I wasn't into TOS enough to remember (and TMP doesn't tickle my pickle much either...  never liked it much).

And a hardy Nerd Counter!

I don't think the Enterprise was a refit...  at least not all the time.  Most of those (if not all) were completely new ships that carried the same designating number and their own letter.  For instance the C was destroyed defending a Klingon Outpost...  The B I forget what happened to it.  The A was destroyed by Kirk to prevent it being taken over.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: TRU Exclusive Clones!
« on: August 17, 2005, 11:57 PM »
Just as soon Hasbro and TRU worked on something else.  Take the gamble it'd maybe be better, as I know pre-posed figures in 3-packs are about as interesting as watching paint dry in my book.

I'd sooner see #6's repainted, even though I'd sooner see #41's repainted over the #6.  But I'd take #6 if it was all they could do, ya know?  Or I'd simply wait till a basic repaint of it got put out, but anything is better than the 3-pack.

I army build Commanders, so the set's good AB fodder to me...  That variation of it's far better though in my view.  A white E2 Clone, a different Commander, and Sandtrooper "grunts" (or at least a rank lower than white and orange) are enough incentive to me.

I hope...  I have a Clone diorama going right now on my floor (oh how boredom sometimes hits me) of Clones stacked around my Hayloft playset from XD.  They look freakin' great.  One SA is shooting with a sniper rifle out the roof's hole.  Sweeeeet.

Saw some 41's the other day but couldn't afford all there were because I was getting some other random stuff that night.  BTW, "Mr. VOTC STormie" is Rob, not me. :)

I've seen Commanders enough to nab some, but not 6.  They're sporatic...  Hopefully Hasbro's going to continually put out all variants in mass quantities because I'd like more red.  I'd like more of all of them really, just to do "ARC" squads with them.

I don't think you're disagreeing with me so much as we both see the necessary evil that is the shoot-out.  It's exciting.

I agree though, I think I'd drop shoot-outs in the play-offs.  Play till the next day if you ahve to, but no shoot-out.  It's less sporting.

I like the way they're divying the points though....   1 for the loser, 2 for the winner...  That's all good.

I think the shoot-out's ok though, and I am a purist too, but in general I think ALL sports are boring when they end in a tie.  There's a sense of dissatisfaction when I walk away from the arena without a winner.  To me that's the only area we maybe disagree on that Brent.  It's just my footing on competitive sports though...  Ties make me feel like I got cheated to an extent (irregardless if they're 0 - 0 or 8 - 8).

I think it'll help Canadian and U.S. markets though, with having the shoot-out...  But ultimately, the point remains that simple rules implementation and enforcement would make the game what it was.  They ought to be trying that before altering the game dramatically on any level.

Dale'd be on the "Riff Raff" so fast their head would spin. :)  That's his baby so he'd not let anything taint the vintage section here.

The lack of research on the T4 shows clearly with the complete omittion of a portion of the ship's fuselage.  That's not reverse engineering but a complete structural redesign.  A faux pau on the part of ILM, and if fans can find complete shots of the original ship then their screw up is so inexcuseable.  Like has been said though, look at their version of the Falcon...  They bungled that thing pretty good.   :-\

The armor plating and weapons make some sense...  Easily explained away.  A whole portion of the ship missing though really goofs things up and starts to stretch my ability to "explain" things reasonably to myself.  I think I'm leaning towards it being simply an earlier ship, a different model of Corellian Medium-Sized ship.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: What the hell are they riding?
« on: August 17, 2005, 02:25 AM »
That's definitely a beast assortment figure I'd have on my want list.  Small, pretty neat looking.  So long as they AT LEAST used the TE Gunner's body for the figure riding him and not a static posed rider, that'd rock.

Cool planet...  One of the better additions to the SW universe I think just for its surreal looking landscape.  It departs from some of the "earthly" looking planets seen across the Saga.  I liked that aspect of Felucia.  Those freakish slugs just add to it. :)

More reviews coming as we get them together!

Jeff, you rock my friend. :)

I couldn't even find a friggin' site for Idea Nuova, seriously.  I googled themand only ever got recall information ****.

If anyone's finding these at any point this fall, hit me up.  I think I'd even be willing to buy this from someone out of state even though I hate not finding stuff on my own.  I'd dig 2 Vader Lava Lamps though, they are so choice looking.
