The Legacy Collection / Re: Legacy Collection Battle Packs
« on: October 1, 2009, 05:43 PM »
I guess I'd just rather have 1 new figure in a BP than none at all. I'm actually starved for MORE product to buy.

Heck, even a repaint or new weapon would be worth it.

I swear by the eBay Gift cards...I just wish they had them in more denominations. ($25 and $50 is weak)

You can buy them with cash and use them to pay via PayPal. No credit card needed, no suspicious online withdrawals from bank accounts, just untrackable. Brilliant idea.

What EU characters are going into the Clone Wars?  Are you referring to Bossk?   ???  I guess I don't see the problem here.  I'd rather they build off known, popular EU characters from that time frame than just generating a host of brand new characters we've never heard of despite their pivotal roles (like Ahsoka).

Dude, I don't even know what prompted my comment. Maybe I posted in the wrong thread, I don't know. I swear someone had made a comment about adding one of the EU characters to the Clone Wars show as a Jedi Padawan, but I can't remember who it was now.

Ugh...bad barin today, sorry for posting nonsense.

I really hope that the trend of "complete repacks" is going to be an ongoing theme for the BPs from here on out.  BPs are, by and large, the most poorly stocked assortment of SW toys on the shelves, mostly due to the huge bottleneck caused by the Jabba's Palace and B'omarr Monastery sets.  While I think the Yavin Hangar set is one of the best things to come out of the Legacy lineup, for every one of those, we get two more Jabba's Palace sets per case, perpetuating the problem at retail.   :P

Just out of curiosity, why do you favor BP's as straight re-packs going forward? I agree it is really tiresome wading through all the Jabba and B'Omarr swag, but it seems to me repack BP's would gather dust even worse. I have 0 interest in those as a collector. Especially with all the re-packed carded figures CW is releasing in their new waves, I just don't see where there would be much demand, even from parents or kids.

Thanks guys, good to know.

I swear I have a 12" version of this guy somewhere and he doesn't have the respirator either. Great piece though.

Wow, thanks for posting that Brian. I had not heard of the new CW figs showing up at Target yet - that is great to hear! I will have to start re-focusing on them in my daily Hunts.

What stinks is I will have almost no time to drive around looking for new toys tonight or tomorrow because of all the new TV. (Flash-Forward/Fringe and Clone Wars/Dollhouse is a wicked 1-2 punch on consecutive nights)

Maybe I'll take a half day off tomorrow...hmmm.

Yeah, I'm a little surprised they took that display down too. What replaced it?

Disney's "Princess" line...my 4 year old daughter would be enthralled.  ::)

Me? Not so much.

I've never seen one scrapped so soon...they must have realized how bad it looked to have that pretentious display with no product for the pegs.

Please, please, please do not step off that cliff and start putting EU characters in the Clone Wars.

To paraphrase the inimitable Jon Calipari, that's like putting poop in your ice cream.

The Clone Wars is at a whole other level of canonical legitimacy.

Let's leave them separate so the fabric of SW reality does not come crashing down.

Is Zuckuss smoking a pipe?  ???

WTF is that huge thing hanging off his face?

I don't recall that on my vintage version.

Not only did our TRU NOT get the new Crumb Bomber in on their truck today, they actually dismantled the whole Clone Wars display at the front of the store. It wasn't it up barely a month, and was half empty the whole time! I could only shake my head in disgust...great week to rip that down, with the show premiering Friday and all.  ::)

Scored a bunch of things this morning - all for the MIB/MIP/MOC collection...

1x Ashoka's JSF
1x Corporate Alliance Tank Droid
1x Captain Argyus
1x Luminara
1x AAT Driver Battle Droid
1x Commander Thire

Sweet crimeny jim-jim, that's awesome! Did you score the new figs at Walmart?

So when are we getting a Tactical Droid?  He's appeared in more than a handful of episodes and if you add up his screen time it probably exceeds some of the Jedi we're getting.

I have been wondering the same thing; I am almost positive we will get one this year since this is an ALL NEW droid variety we had never seen before last season. (That I recollect anyway)

There was definitely NOT one pictured at SDCC...

« on: September 30, 2009, 05:50 PM »
I wouldn't count on Cost Co or bulk retail "clubs" like that to get anything that is newly tooled...  First I think Hasbro knows it would annoy some, but second they generally do get and sell their items on somewhat of a lower price scale/discount.  "New tooling" usually doesn't jive with that.  The big club stores tend to also get less product in it seems, though that's the case with many exclusives in general.  But still that's also a third strike against "new tooling".

Maybe a repaint...  But new tooling usually comes at a fair cost too.

VEry good points, you are almost certainly right about this. I am just hoping against hope. CostCo's AT-TE re-packaged release last year is still the only CW toy I have never been able to find. I'm not really sure I even want it, but it sort of bugs me knowing it's out there, even if all the xtra figs were straight repacks.

I'm definitely going to be combing the aisles for their exclusive this year though. Just to decide with it in my hands...

Or you could, y'know, order it from us now what with our low price guarantee and everything... just sayin'.

Don't think I'm not tempted, but my darling wife (She Who Must be Obeyed) might have an apoplexy if she finds out I am wasting money on magic beans toys. When I am about to be unemployed in 6 weeks.

Dang, EE has Dooku w/Speeder Bike in stock NOW! Hot off the truck as of 9/29...can we expect this to show up at brick and mortar stores any day?

Who will snag it first? TRU? Target? Walmart? Kmart?

Release the hounds!
