Revenge of the Sith / Re: The Full 56
« on: March 12, 2005, 02:35 AM »
I concur Jared.

I was immediately likening him to the Cantina wave.  He's not perfect, but he's far from bad either.  He has plenty of articulation but can't hold a saber with 2 hands, which sucks...  He has the kickass robe...  It was a neat idea however I still prefer a cloth one made of good material.

Speaking of material, Agen's skirt is cloth but sewn together which is sorta tough to pose his legs then, and it's not the limpest cloth either.  Yet I totally see Agen making a good "Old" Obi-Wan if you wanted one.  :)

His saber's old-school wtih the removable blade AND fits on his belt.  Kick ass!

He's not bad...  Just not perfect.  I like him though, he's fun.  I think some figures will disappoint where a corner's been cut more than Agen does...  Others though I think will look pretty good.

If those damn figs at KM weren't $8 each, I'd have at least gotten a couple more.  :(  KM just put a knife in my heart...  Damn them!

Well, you were right Bob.  Tons of figures out on pegs at that KM.

At $8 I passed on most, buying only Agen Kolar...

I'm gonna say the ROTS line's probably going to rival the Cantina Wave at the tail end of OTC in quality.  Pretty good, not perfect, but a huge step ahead of AOTC's debut line.  Collection 1 will definitely suffer just on the ones I looked at, but still some aren't bad.  Mace looks worse than I'd hoped though.  Still, not horrible, just worse.   :-\

Definite lack of Clones at the KM, which implies to me perhaps they were raided prior.  I dunno.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: RotS Product Leaks: Already?

Thanks to a tip from my buddy Bob, I found a plethora of ROTS figures tonight at a local K-Mart.

The problem?  At about $8 (yes, $8) per figure, I sure wasn't gonna buy a lot of these.  I did buy one.  The lone Agen Kolar they had, who is a neat figure.  Great?  Maybe.  Perfect?  No.  Fun?  Yes.

And I'd say this is an Obi-Wan waiting to happen.  An old Obi-Wan that is.  He's a perfect base for that.  Could use less stiff cloth though (and it's sewn so it's tough to move his legs) but otherwise he's neat.

Collection 1 definitely outnumbered collection 2.  Someone beat me there and bought what i'm assuming was almost every clone.  The C1 Clone had one rep there.  I passed...

It was hard, but at $8 after tax, I really just can't justify buying everything I wanted, namely the red guards.  Not a single blue guard on the pegs there either.  Very strange.

Oh and Cantina's were $11 now.  I grabbed a spare for Ktik.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Terminator Toy Line... 4" Scale.
« on: March 11, 2005, 02:45 PM »
Interesting Mr.PL, thanks...

I have to check out the McFarlane Queen then...  I want to get one that's best detailed and to-scale.  Soemthing to compliment the Hot Toys figures on their way here...  Can't wait to put a predator in my Cantina too, heh.

I wanted the Load Lifter as a SW custom base too...  Nothing major, just something to have impy's workign with in a freighter's bays or something.

Toy Reviews / JD.com Review: Dagobah Luke & Yoda!
« on: March 11, 2005, 02:37 PM »

Up for your viewing pleasure is the OTC's dynamic duo, Luke and Yoda, Dagobah Training!

Easily two of the most needed resculpts for the modern line, Yoda has never looked better, and neither has Luke, but does that make good figures?  Well I'd say yes, and I'd say no.  I think the majority may be against me on Luke, but I found him wanting as an action figure...  A nice resculpt yes, but not much of a fun toy, which really hurts him in my eyes.

Still, Hasbro has some innovative ideas here, and the two go together great as a neat little set.  They look fantabulous on a shelf, there's no denying that.

Read my review though RIGHT HERE and get all the skinny.  I think these are two worth purchasing, but I'd buy Luke again if he included just a little something extra in the arm department.

Ya know, cuz I likes to pose my toys!

Well, I'm sad to see Antilles is the sopping wet pile of diahrea I imagined...  What a shame he got the shaft but Organa's a pretty great figure overall.  Sucks they cut corners on him, even if all he maybe does is stand around.  He strikes me as something of a "soldier" for Alderaan.  Guess Organa's the better fodder figure now.

That said, he's the only disappointment so far...  Barring any minor ones that spring up here and there like the seeming crappiness of the Collection 1 Clone and things.

Screw him though...  The SA looking clone coming later is the one I want.  I'll use Collection 1's for dead clones I guess.  Overall this is shaping up to be some great figures.  I like the AT-RT looking dude too.  A great figure.

We need more though...  I want a SA BARC now that they do a white version of for ROTJ then as well.  :)

I had such a flurry of jokes invade my mind I'm almost dizzy.

Hmmm, I'd assume they're the "short" bus as well.  Or Micro-buses maybe.  Whale Sharks are big, but  I didn't even think you could fit two buses on their backs.

I'd love to see the attempt though.  The shark would kill its first person I do believe.

This one doesn't seem able to do that...  Maybe he's but a sharkling?

"C'mon, sexy, want to come to my place and see my SW collection?" that always works for me...

You mean it doesn't work the same for guys??

Not without a trusty box of wine.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: ROTS Trailer
« on: March 11, 2005, 12:37 AM »
I'm not gonna lose control and over-hype myself, but...

Holy **** comes to mind quickly.

It's a fantastic trailer...  Palp's line to his visitors will forever become iconic with SW fans I believe.  He's really only going to ever "shine" in this film, and that almost is a shame but probably will do well for the flick.

I bet my buddy's going nuts if he missed this right now.  :)

Finally, having Hypersnatch pays off...  at least for a little bit of fun.

Watch every gas station have a commercial for Star Wars.  At that point I'd become suspicious.

We're around $2, which for this area is high...  I could see stations at $1.95 yesterday though...  I have $.10 off per gallon at the local grocery store's pumps so I'll be going there.  I do shop there, so I rack up the cents off.

Just sucks how things are going up up up just in time for C3.   ::)

I like Whale Sharks.  They're like the Ithorians of the sea...  *sigh*

That shot with the guy's hand on the GW's nose is funny.

The shot of the surfer's just a classic though.  Looks like a Megalodon flying out of the surf on him.  :)
