No problems at all SWCD...

We'd be happy to have you as a member over yonder as well.

We're open to all customs as well, but of course as FFURG's dedicated to STar Wars customizing as its focus, we really are strongly centered on that.  There are several generic areas though, so if you have other wares they're welcome to be posted as well.  I'm personally interested in seeing WW2 1:18 customs from some folks.

As far as why we never had a forum, they're not the simplest things to open and operate, or so I understand it...  So we have always left the old Forgotten Force Email Listserver as the means of discussion.  We're trying to get things to a more cohesive "community" rather than a single email server though.

Things are looking good so far too!

Sorry you feel that way SWCD, but with www.FFURG.com being the oldest (known) Star Wars Customizing Resource on the web, from its infancy created through the old email listserver (Still kicking, but something that needs "updated with this forum), I simply disagree.

FFURG.com's been the place the old guys like Stephen Hayford, Tony Collucci, Gary Weaver, and others really inspired...  Guys like Curto, Jason, and the other founders over there really just personify the Star Wars Customizing community to me, and that's why the forums were created.

Not to take away from the forum you mentioned...  Just that, as someone with 13 years in the hobby, they still weren't a site I was aware of even...  FFURG FForums is an attempt to end that, and to make a name for Star Wars customizing with one large community is all.

Bringing customizing back to is hay-days when the email listserver was TRULY a hopping place, like back in early POTF2 days.

Hey Guys and Gals,

As I posted on the main page here at JediDefender.com (A thanks to the very kind staff/admin here for letting us do that), www.FFURG.com have officially opened the first ever FFURG FForums, "Where Customizers Come to Talk".

We'd personally love everyone who participates here (and elsewhere in the customizing community) to join up and help us expand the customizing community into a more cohesive group.

We're not looking to take membership from here though, so as the moderator from JediDefender's own customizing area we're happy to have you still actively display, discuss, and enjoy the hobby here as well.  We just would love your support over at FFURG as well!

The FForums can be found right HERE , so click on through, sign up, and enjoy folks!  Hopefully we'll be the hoppinest customizing forum in town for all your customizing needs!

The Original Trilogy / Re: Camie...I Think I'm In Love

The "Star whore" sucking tongue with Harrison Ford in the rough cut of the Cantina was of some ill-gotten fame as well I believe.

Her scenes on the CD-ROM are cool BDW.  The whole anchorhead/Biggs thing is something I'd like added to the film in its entirety and in color/clear sound.  Just something cool to expand yet, and show how Luke's character evolves some.

The pre-film T-16 Skyhopper race in the novel would be cool too I think.  Give you an idea how he's so good with an X-Wing immediately.

Would the diner owner be the "Ice Cream Maker Guy" of the Happy Days line?

Nude shots with puppies deserves something...

An arrest warrant perhaps.  I dunno.

And yes, drowning midgets make me smile too...  It was a great episode.   :D

0, they do it willingly themselves from guilt?

J/k J/k J/K don't fight, don't fight!  No Blasters!  No Blasters!

Darth Kenobi,

I believe it was a Torpedoe plane if I'm not mistaken, but I may not be correct.  It's been a while I guess.

The Jet remark was funny though...  :)  Nice to see someone knows nothing of history.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Vintage OTC Figures
« on: June 14, 2004, 05:00 PM »
Indeed, that's a cool photoshop Tydirium, and I agree that I like those cards better.

I just hope Hasbro has the common sense to repackage them at some point like that.

What I'd actually really like is for them to pre-pose the figures in the packaging to show off the kickass articulation too.  Show just how fun the figure can be, and I bet more kids would cry for those figures than others in the toy aisle.

The packaging from the VOTC isn't great to me, but I do love the OTC basic cardback with the unique backgrounds.  Sweet stuff.

Unfortunately for me, I was wanting to stock up on at least 2 Riekean's for the fodder the figure wuold yield, and to have a couple extra tactical boards.

I haven't seen an Ultra at my nearest Target though fr a while, so the second nearest and third are my only hopes really.  :(  One of them should have some extra Ultra laying about.

I didn't agree with this man's politics again, but Pappy Bush skydiving at 80's not too shabby.  Good for him.

Bush's plane was shot down in WW2, and they have footage of him being rescued in the Pacific.  He's no stranger to harrowing dives from the sky (controlled or otherwise).

There was some rumble (wishful thinking perhaps) they would make a 1:18 scale plane of his with a figure of him as a young man.  Even as a Democrat I'd pick that set up!

If Durge is to read this, for whatever reason (I don't believe he is banned here Josh...  Not yet anyway, unless Chris did so without mentioning it or it showing up on his name there), I figured I'd make a post so he doesn't feel so harshly treated.

Like Chris said, it was more brutal honesty than harshness.

I've watched Durge and GNT go back and forth at each other, and while a lot of people give you props for not "taking it" from GNT (which nobody should have to), they also don't respect the WAY either of you post.

I'm not saying myself here...  I was indifferent, and part of me liked seeing GNT get pissed off at, more or less, looking in a mirror.

But by that very statement, it's not a complement on your posting habits Durge.  Unfortunately you weren't there before GNT became a mod, if I'm correct, and it's your posting habits now that are the reason a LOT of people don't respect GNT in the first place.

He basically did (and often still does) the same things you were.  Reporting posts when it isn't his job to "police" people posting...  posting no matter when/where to seemingly just have one more post (quantity over quality for short).

Again, I ignored GNT's behavior as just the type of guy he was...  I only clashed with him when he clashed with me directly, which wasn't terribly often.  Others though, disliked GNT because he simply wasn't someone whose opinion really struck you as "great".  You didn't look forward to his latest reply.  It was filler most of the time.

You were becoming similar to a lot of people.  I know this only because I've heard the same rumblings arise towards you as towards GNT in his early days.

The rumblings towards GNT now are of a different nature...  They more directly annoy people than before.  They're worse, admittedly.

With that said...

I think it's laughable for Scum to ban Durge and not GNT.  Their decision, but when you ban one who acts one way, you're obligated to ban the other who baited or reacted right alongside the one you banned.  That would be GNT to me.

I'm not saying either should've been banned, but I hold to the fact GNT should be de-modded and they BOTH should be made settle down or face being kicked out.

It's just Durge at GNT's throat over there though.  That little feud worked the opposite direction every thread I ever saw.

It's important to stand by your staff, but it's more important to hire the right people in the first place I think.

Hey Beth,

Thanks again for offering your extra KotD figure to me for my brother, but a stroke of good luck tonight on a chance run to a Target yielded me a new KotD for him and one for myself as well.

Good stuff.

We're gonna take his broken one back to TRU whence it came now...  And he doesn't know it yet, but I opened his KotD for him already and loosened his hand up already.  He'll survive!

Thanks Beth for that offer, it was really appreciated!

The answers I seek for the nude/puppies photo are not answerable by his abysmal music video.

Further yet actually, the video only serves to raise more questions for me...

I liked Baywatch though...  Am I alone there?  The episode with the midget and the kid who was ashamed of his midget father, and then his midget father drowned...

That was AWESOME stuff!

Theoretically they could be re-releasing holo sidious like this, but that is just a thought...  I doubt that's what they'd do.

I REALLy hope the Saga Emp's not the figure they do the holo thing too.  That'd just not look right.  :(
