Started a longer post on this last night but I guess I never finished it so here s a more succinct version. Having read reports about the Rey and Kylo in this wave being "upgraded" versions compared to their previous releases, I bought one of each yesterday to compare. I didn't see much difference in Rey frankly, the lipstick paint apps are slightly lighter and more delicately applied, but that's about it that I can tell. I like the newer version but I don't really regard that as a legit variant, just a subtle tweak.

Kylo however, has some pretty notable differences from the first version. They added a red wire painted on his lightsaber hilt which was not on my original version, and the texture on his cowl is completely different from the original one. Hard to describe without seeing it but it has a sort of "gooseflesh" texture where the first time around it was much smoother like a crumpled towel. I think they also slightly changed the cut or length of his robes too.

I decided to hold on to the extra Kylo since the changes are fairly significant in my mind and I like having both. 

I ship Priority about half the time, which comes with $50 insurance, but I don't think this was one of those, unfortunately. I heard back from him again last night and I guess he is saying now that the figures themselves arrived damaged. He included a couple of pictures but I have no way of knowing whether he did that himself or it actually happened in transit. I know they did not leave my hands like that. I offered to give him a 25% refund and let him keep the figures so we'll see what happens. I'm pretty sure he is not going to play ball though.

This wave is now showing up at Walmart on the East Coast...

I finally found the last two things I was looking for - a Hux with good eyes and the variant unpainted neck Snowtrooper. Completeness! 

WD figures are now on clearance @ Gamestop...picked up all of Series 8 for $10 each. 

Made a flurry of toy runs the past 2 days in the hopes of finding another Snowtrooper and a Hux with better eyes. Ended up finding (and buying) another TIE Pilot, another Asty, and 2 more Shocktroopers. I finally did find a lone Snowtrooper on the pegs at Walmart too, so that was nice.

Apparently there is an "unpainted neck" Snowtrooper variant I need to track down now as well. Both of mine have the proper painted neck.   

Just when I'd moved on and decided not to worry about these, I wandered into a TRU last night and found all three of them.  They had a few of each.  I'm perfectly happy picking up exclusives at normal retail prices.

I finally caved and picked up the Rocky Horror figures off eBay for $9 apiece shipped. The only one not available was Frank, so I went onto Gamestop's website and found one at a local store they are now holding for me. 

Curious now if/when we will get a whiff of any new product from these guys in 2016.

I found the Hux/Asty/Snowtrooper Wave today too - at Walmart. I was beginning to think we were in some kind of weird toy vortex here, since everywhere else seemed to be getting these at the same time. I really like Asty, the Snowtrooper is sort of meh after getting the TRU exclusive, and Hux' face is just plain weird.

Been a busy few weeks for this line - I love it though!
