I got my Anakins and Clone Troopers today, perfectly packaged and right on time. Just opened them up and start futzing around with them.

Anakin from the neck down is actually a pretty dope figure, I especially like the blend of soft goods and plastic around the waist. I haven't had any trouble posing him or getting him to stay standing either, he can do a pretty wide range of stances. But eesh, that head sculpt is as underwhelming in hand as in photos. I ended up going with the Sith head for display purposes, but neither really seems up to snuff with the other human sculpts so far. And yeah, they both sit too high on the neck.

Clone Trooper is about as expected too, at least for me: solid but unspectacular. It's a nice sculpt, mine is a little loose around the torso but not terrible. The limited range of motion doesn't bother me too much as I sort of consider it to be more or less realistic (figure these guys probably had a hard time moving around in that early gear). I'm thinking I will probably stick with two of these guys and not army build them beyond that. I'm sure there are plenty more iterations in the pipeline starting with the Sergeant anyway.

This is probably my least favorite wave so far, but certainly worth picking up and not terrible efforts overall, just not among their best results in this line to date, IMHO.

Star Wars Rebels / Re: Recents Finds and/or Purchases

I saw a Jakks Pacific YouTube video for their 20" line today and they showed 20" versions of Zeb, the Inquisitor, and the Rebels Stormtrooper. I think this helps me to confine my purchases to just the animated stuff. That will be more than enough sounds like. Ironic that these figures have more articulation than their 4" counterparts.

Saw the new comic series figures today at my local comic shop...man, those came out well. It was tough to walk away, but I've made my peace with sticking to the TV stuff.

And picked up Kanan today after work. Gonna have to try to hold the line on just the animated figures in the 20" scale, but it is tough.

I saw those at Wal-Mart myself last weekend.

Yep, it was Walmart.

I did see a 20" Biker Scout at TRU, so looks like there is a mix of stuff coming out. Still looking for Kanan...

#everysimpsonsever marathon on FXX has reminded me how awesome the first 8 or 9 seasons of the Simpsons were... and how it was pretty much downhill from there.   :-\

I thought exactly the same thing.

I saw the Yoda/Sidious Missions Series 2-pack for the first time yesterday in Target. His face really is that funky two-tone color close-up. Blech.

Let's fire this mother up!

I bought my first ever Rebels toy tonight...the 20" Ezra Bridger figure. Have been on the fence about the 20" scale, but after seeing this one in person I caved instantly. No sign of Kanan, but they did have the TIE FIghter Pilot, which was super badass. I stashed him away for later. (BTW, not so easy stashing away a 20" action figure)

Bring on the Rebels toys!

 ;D

Haven't posted in this thread since 2012, but of course I've been attending live music on a regular basis.

Most recently the Graspop Metal Meeting festival in Belgium, with awesome performances by Sabbath, AiC, BLS, Zombie, Sepultura (man, Andreas Kisser hasn't aged a day  ;D ), Mastodon and Ghost.. Limp Bizkit was a big disappointment.

Last week Machine Head, their only club show in Holland this year, until it was announced a few days ago, that they'd be back in another town in December. Hard to believe they've been at it for 22 years! They totally tore up the insanly hot venue.

This Sunday I'll go to X-Rock in Germany. Guess who's playing? Machine ******' Head  ;D Also Amon Amarth, Life of Agony and Airbourne, plus a couple of others.

Let Freedom Ring with a Shotgun Blast!

Nice, I'm so jealous of your huge outdoor metal shows! Graspop, Dynamo, F--- Commerce Festival, etc. Metal is alive and well abroad!

Glad Andreas Kisser is aging well, have they gotten their heads out of their collective arses and gotten Max and Igor back yet though?

Shocked to hear Limp Bizkit disappointed.  :D

I picked up 4/6 Terminator figures at TRU today, no sign of Reese or Sarah. I asked and that was all they got so not sure about the case assortments there. Great figures though, really enjoying these.

With the 6" logjam around here, I finally broke down and placed an online order for 2X Anakins and 3X Clone Troopers. Even with shipping it came to less than I would have paid at retail anyway.  :)

Vintage Kenner / Re: Toy Tony carded figures.

His technique for sealing the bubbles to the card improved over time, but the earlier efforts should have been easy to spot from the visible iron marks around the edges of the bubble. Yes, he actually used an iron to heat seal the bubbles to the cards.  ::)

There are numerous photos in that thread that are pretty obvious fakes; you'd think an organization billing itself as an "authority" would have spotted those pretty easily.  ::)

Even the later ones can be identified using some deductive logic and a fine eye for detail, the guys over at RS had some really well informed analysis.

6" Peg Warming in St. Louis: Slave Leia, Greedo, Han, Obi-Wan and Bespin Luke...  4" Peg Warmers: Nothing in most places as there aren't any pegs for them.

This is the exact same as around here. I would feel compelled to make some kind of insinuation about human characters not being as appealing as the other figures, but Greedo messes up that theory.
