I saw a bunch of new MU figures at TRU yesterday...Abomination, Cloak, etc.

Why is Cloak called "Marvel Knights" on the package?!?!

Ok, I saw these yesterday too. Is the Dark Elf the same as Kurse? Or are these 2 different figures? Pardon my ignorance but I only know the classic Thor characters from the comics.

I didn't notice what the articulation looked like, sorry.

I like how C-21 Highsinger from CW would have been in it. To bad it was cancelled. It would have greatly increased the chances of a figure of him.

YES! Good call, and I 100% agree. We need this guy in plastic!

Those shots look super cool, IMO, i really wish this would have come out.

Forgot to mention I had to LOL and cry a little inside when I saw that Hasbro Angry Birds Telepods commercial during SHIELD last night. What a revolting development.

Agents of SHIELD, anyone?

I thought it was pretty solid. I liked that they Maria Hill back, hope she remains a series regular. (Isnt' HIMYM ending this year?)

I liked that they didn't just gloss over Coulson's "death", but made it a point of mystery. Tahiti, indeed.

Liked most of the B players, although I found the lead bohunk pretty annoying. The Rising Tide chick was super cute. How did Summer Glau not get that part though? The Brits were nice, Ming Wa too, and Ron Glass is always %^&* money.

The thing I was a little concerned about going in is still a concern though - i think the nameless schmoe of the week with powers is going to get stale quickly. This is a prime opportunity to pull in some good B and C list players from the Marvel Universe. There are definitely more than a few that require little in the way of CGI or expensive effects. (Power Man and Iron Fist baby!)

I'll keep watching this for sure though, looks like a potential winner.

Timeless, my arse. You just know those things are full of dated references to crap like "twerking" and the Kardashians.

Just give us our Dr. Ball, M.D. spin-off series!

Middle Earth / Re: The Hobbit - Toy Line

Thanks, Smash. I picked up a single-carded Gandalf for $7 on ebay this weekend.

I also ended up returning the multipack I bought because I already had Bilbo and Thorin and I was going to have to buy another 2-pack just to get Balin. And it wasn't worth it to me to spend $15 for Kili and Fili when I can buy them both off eBay for less.

So now I need two 2-packs and Invisible Bilbo and I'm all caught up.

Agreed, that looks awesome and is a must buy. Not sure what other deluxe sets they could possibly follow it up with, maybe Rick and his horse, but even if it is just a one-off it's a cool idea.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Recent Clone Wars Finds/Purchases
« on: September 20, 2013, 09:01 AM »
While scouring Walgreens for Walking Dead figures yesterday, I happened across an IG-86 on the pegs in its original clone helmet card. Man, those was a long time ago! It was on sale for $7 I believe but I'm pretty sure I could find one on eBay cheaper than that.

Be sure to look along the end caps throughout the store and on the top shelves as well. On Sunday I found a display case on the top shelf of the toy aisle, and last night I almost walked empty-handed out of a store that had a full display case of 12 figures near the front checkouts. It was just luck that I looked down as I was passing the display. And both of these stores had at least 1 Rick on a peg in the toy aisle that had been there for a few days.

Thanks for the tip, I finally found a full display of these at Walgreen's today too, on an island between 2 aisles. If I hadn't known to look I would have easily missed them. They had 2 Andreas, so I was able to get a less googly-eyed one. Wave complete!

I picked up almost all of TV Series 4 at Walgreen's today after work! The only one missing was Andrea.  :(

They had about 3 Carls and I was able to get one with crisp paint apps but the Gov could have been a little sharper around the hairline. They only had 1 of him and the zombies so I couldn't be choosy.

The Riot Gear Zombies are freaking excellent. I could see army building those guys even.

Seems pretty hit or miss as far as finding these though, I only saw them at 1 Walgreen's today out of 5 that I checked. (Yeah, we have a lot of those here) There are 3 more close to work I can check out tomorrow though so we'll see. Fingers crossed I can find Andrea and knock this wave out completely.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series - 2013 Wave 1
« on: September 17, 2013, 09:16 AM »
I'm already getting tired of seeing Wave 1. I hope Hasbro did not overproduce this wave like they tend to do right out of the gate, especially with Walmart out of the game. I don't think they can count on consumers buying up multiples of these like they do the smaller figures.

The inevitable spin-off is coming in 2015. Suprised it took them this long.

http://tv.yahoo.com/news/amc-developing-walking-dead-spin-off-152036717.html

Yeah, it was inevitable with Breaking Bad and Mad Men going off the air.

I think this has a lot of potential promise if done well. The best thing will be that they won't be constrained by the events in the comic, it will be completely uncharted territory and spoiler-free.

And maybe they will finally have some storylines related to how this all began because it still bugs me that there is that huge blind spot.
