Agreed that the Nolan films, good as they were, ruined the chances of doing DKR properly. (You can rent the animated version though!)

This wounds me deeply, as outside of Watchmen and Swamp Thing, I feel DKR is far and above the best thing to ever come out of the DC universe. It would have been an epic, brutal live action movie.

As far as re-casting the part, I reject that totally. If Bale is dead set against reprising the role, you go straight to JGL. Otherwise what was the point of that whole last movie?

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series - 2013 Wave 1

I just want to hold one of these dadgum things in my hand so I can decide if I'm in or out once and for all. I feel like they should have some heft...if these are dinky, hollowed out versions I feel like I would be more reluctant to jump in. I can;t say for sure until the Moment of Truth.

I checked again last night and we're still stuck with the same old Weequays, Woofs, and DTF swag.

I'm glad others are having better luck, truly, but I hate it when the love is not spread fairly around the country.  >:(

ABC still interested...

If Disney owns SW, and Disney owns ABC, WTF does anyone have to "negotiate" anything? Just get it done.

I run into this all the time at my company, we have to bid on contracts for companies WE ALREADY OWN. What's the point?

Count me down for a separate Rebels line in the source-accurate animated style. Produced by Disney. With no Hasbro involvement whatsoever.

The Black Series 3.75" / Re: The Black Series 3.75" - 2013 Wave 1

I admit I am getting a little annoyed these have not shown up here yet, even though I have zero interest in them. As of yesterday , NONE of the Targets around here had reset. I guess they want to wait for a time when foot traffic in the store will be minimal. I do want to see those 6" figs up close.

I guess I just hate living in one of those places where finding new toys sucks. I would love to live in one of those places where people find stuff like 1-2 weeks early.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Recent Clone Wars Finds/Purchases
« on: August 3, 2013, 09:15 PM »
The local Walmart had Clone Wars figures marked down to $7 each. I was briefly tempted as they had a pretty good selection, even a Training SBD, but ultimately I passed at that price. If they get to $5 or less I may load up on a few Phase II clones for customizing fodder.

I saw the new ones today in what I suspect will be a common experience: 0 Vaders and tons of pegwarming Obis and Anis.

Yeah, I'm starting to think those earlier Malgus sightings were just a fluke, and no "magic wheelbarrow of Malgi and INC goodness" is actually going to materialize after all.  :(

Not sure what they would be waiting for...it's officially back to school season and all.

Saga Legends / Re: Saga Legends "Mission Series" Figure 2-Packs

I saw these today for the first time too, at TRU. Not anything I am remotely interested in, but it was nice to see something new on the pegs I guess. No sign of the 6" stuff.

Other Toy Lines / Re: 2013: What Are You Collecting?
« on: August 1, 2013, 08:42 AM »
For 2013:

Star Wars: Whatever TCW swag they see fit to release, maybe another  class I, BP, and a few figures? Also need a few odd vintage variants, hollow tube tusken raider, red haired Hoth Leia, etc. and that pesky orange haired Luke!

DCU: new Watchmen figures courtesy of Club Black Freighter, cannot wait for these!

Hanna Barbera: new Zandor and Tundro figures from the Herculoids cartoon

Walking Dead: anything and everything they decide to bless us with, no Minimates though

Always good to check-in at the halfway point. Looks like I'm buying pretty much no new SW toys this year. The few random TCW inspired toys they've announced aren't slated to hit shelves til 2014 I guess.

The Watchmen Collector's Club is ending this year as well, an all too short run but an excellent one. So that's it for those.

Got my Tundro and Zandor toys, just hoping we get more from the show. Walking Dead is going strong, just snagged the whole comic wave and looking forward to the next TV series.

Also added World War Z to the stable this year, though I suspect that line is mercifully DOA. I am really digging the Pacific Rim stuff too, super psyched for Waves 2 and 3 now.

And man, the prices are brutal, but that Super 7 Alien stuff is all kinds of awesome. LOVE those.

Due to excellent international box office numbers, a sequel to Pacific Rim is likely.

While there were glaring flaws, I loved when Pacific Rim worked.  Hopefully they'll write better human characters next time around.

Best news I've heard all week!

I actually went back again last night to catch this in IMAX 3D. Holy hell, it was awesome. The damn things practically leap out of the screen at you. Truly an immersive experience.

Not sure where they would go with a sequel, but as long as Del Toro is on board it's got to be amazing.

Highly recommend The Raid:Redemption playing now on Encore I think. Police strike team leads all-out assault on inner city high rise under the control of a ruthless drug lord. The mayhem escalates from floor to floor, as the strike team battles the various bloodthirsty tenants on their way up, using guns, knives, fists, and explosives to unleash an unreal level of mayhem.

The climactic battle between three of the key characters at the end is one of the most brutal, extended fight sequences ever filmed this side of They Live. Seriously, it's that good.

The Sequel Trilogy / Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I have no problem with the Hammer Horror alum. Those guys are pure gold in anything they do.

I don't mind a few familiar faces sprinkled in here and there, but for the younger leads, go with fresh ones. That's all I'm saying.

And please, I'd rather see quality actors that are homely then a bunch of beautiful robots who cannot emote their way out of a wet paper bag.
