Sounds like Spider Maul is coming next year....in a realistic style.  :( >:( :'(

You guys already put that out a year or two ago! You couldn't just jam the new animated torso onto the realistic base?!?

Weak, weak sauce.

It sounds like GH confirmed with Hasbro reps at NYCC that the Mandalorian Shuttle will NOT be re-appearing in 2013 on toy shelves.

No surprise to me, given the push for the wee vehicles next year, but disappointing nonetheless. I still think this would have been excellent fodder for a UBP to support the upcoming Mando-centric episodes of the show this season.

Just glad I got mine in the English packaging because those things are even more impossible to find now.

These  last couple waves have had some of the best action figures ever.  Punisher, Scarlet Witch, Kraven, Beast, and Beta Ray Bill are all outstanding, high quality figures.  With the Star Wars line regressing in quality and GI Joe being non-existent, MU is the line to beat, IMO.

Yeah, but those figures are even harder to find in stores than the SW stuff. I have literally not seen a single new single carded MU figure on a peg anywhere this whole year. It's hard to beat 'em if you can't find 'em!

ET hits Blu-Ray today. Can somebody explain why Spielberg digitally edited the walkie talkies into shotguns? Changing my childhood

 :-*

So he can re-release Special Edition version in a few years with the "original" cut?  ;)

I would have preferred the edited out the "p---- breath" line, that is way more damaging to my young daughters' psyches....

I wonder how much grief they would give me if I tried to get them to honor the BOGOF deal for Kul Teska. The TRU across the river still has a couple of these and I would really like an extra to open up. I mean, it's technically an action figure, right?

....Aaand we're back. To sucking out loud again.

I honestly did not think the show could stoop lower than poisoned kid's drinks on Mandalore, but they blew that right out of the water with that BEYOND INSIPID Twilight-esque crapfest.

Man, that was just embarassingly terrible. Who do they think is watching this show?!?! They won't make female action figures but they fixate on plotlines that would only appear to tween girls. Stop making goo-goo eyes at each other, you self-absorbed twerps.

"I know we've got this rebellion thing going on fighting for the future of the planet and all, but WHY DOESN'T LUX LIKE ME?!?!"  ::) ::) ::)

God, I hope they kill that stupid brat off this year.

Rex looked funny in street clothes.

So...thinking ahead to next year, I wonder if we will see the inevitable clearance on the Darth Maul packaged stuff to make way for swag in the new Yoda-themed packaging. And if so, at what point will that clearancing get started? I am guessing around the holidays since the relaunch is sometime after the first of the year. Plus it's the easiest time to dump a lot of unmoving product with so much added foot traffic.

Not that there was a lot released this year that would even be worth picking up for pennies on the dollar, but maybe some of the mini-rigs...

Must be nice...  I've just got 4 Maul speeders and 4 STAPS staring at me at any given Target and no room for new.

FYI, as posted in the other thread, what they have on the shelves currently may well be irrelevant, most stores seem to be stocking the newest wave regardless of what is already out there. At least at Target.

So if you have stores, like we do around here, that have been sitting on the same three stinkers for months now, it's still worth a stop to check. At least in theory.  :)

Depending on what they are charging for individual figures, that could be a pretty good deal. We have a brand new TRU opening next week and I am really hoping they have a good selection of recent vintage waves. I've still never seen Nom, Aayla, Starkiller, etc on the pegs anyplace.

So...pretty momentous night last night. Thanks to a tip from another local collector, I was able to snag the elusive Republic Dropship Class I set from a local Target last night. Even better, it was a cherry mint package too, so this one is a definite keeper. I still wouldn't mind having an extra for openers, but I'm not going to kill myself looking for it.

This is pretty noteworthy for me because this was literally the last toy I was looking for in a brick and mortar store this year. The only other thing coming out Clone Wars-wise is the Wolf Pack gift set, and since that is online only there is really no reason for me to set foot in another TRU, Walmart, Target, or Kmart for the remainder of 2012. Yay!

That said, it is a hard habit to break, so I am sure I will keep up the occasional runs - we do have a new TRU opening next week - but the sense of urgency is definitely gone now. Big sigh of relief.

I finally scored my Dropship last night courtesy of Target, and along with the Assault Submarine this is probably the coolest thing they've made this year. The pilot pack-in figure is a joke, but the harness/gun assembly is really neat and the ship itself, implausible as it may be, captures the essence of the mini-rig motif. And it shoots stuff! Which already puts it above stuff like the Wheelbike which is a colossal bore, IMO.

Will probably look for another of these to actually open up. Hopefully I see it more than once, although it's so hard to predict that stuff ahead of time.

Once again though, wtf is up with their case assortments? This thing is 1 per case with the other 3 all being Wave 1 turds. They couldn't see fit to carry forward the Attack Recon Fighter or Assault Submarine? Huh?

I dislike reading generally, because it is so time-consuming and as a former English major I just find it tiresome as a mental exercise, but I finally picked up The Godfather by Mario Puzo.

I know the movies backwards and forwards, so I was always keen to read the book hoping it would be like Harry Potter and there would be tons of interesting stuff that they left out of the movies.

I'm only a couple of chapters in, so we'll see. It is already overwhelmingly apparent to me that the movies are FAR, FAR SUPERIOR to the book itself, at least as an artistic enterprise.

Puzo had a great story to tell but he is no master of prose, IMHO. Coppolla really breathed life into that thing and gave it a breadth and depth all his own.

I really like that poster.  First shot of Bolg the Goblin leader.  Fili and Kili are the second most prominent Dwarves which is consitent with what Nicklab suggested.

If you search the internet you can find images of a lot of the toys that are being released in conjunction with the Hobbit.  These include the Great Goblin and Tauriel (Evageline Lilly) and many of the Unexpected Party.

Wait a minute, Kate from Lost is in this movie?!?! How did I miss that?

I wonder if her erstwhile fiance Dominic Monaghan put in a good word for her with Peter Jackson. Or maybe he was too busy flaming Matthew Fox over Twitter...

Excellent, thanks a lot for that intel! Things just got a lot more interesting...(we have a dozen Targets within my driving radius)

I did see the grey dot at the one near my house today at lunch, so that one gets extra stalkerazzi treatment.  ;)
