For you guys that are finding this at Target:

Are these stores that had sold through previously on all their Class I vehicles? Or are you finding a fresh case co-mingled with all the Wave 1 crud still hanging around?

In other words, if my store still has 1-2 of the old ones still on the shelf, am I likely to ever see this? Or do I need to clear out those one still hanging around to have any hope of getting this latest case restocked?

Also, was the grey dot sticker next to the tag for these things?

RIP, Commander Jeffrey Sinclair

Not the greatest actor in the world, but a well-loved member of the show who will be missed.

Very pleased to see that Comcast had the new episode On-Demand the very same night, so I didn't have to wait around a couple days just to catch up.

Loved Blue Snags, even if he talked like the Sheriff from Squidbillies. All he was missing was the dented toe...

I still think Adi Gallia deserves a figure based on her body of work in the series. But sheesh, put up a little bit of a fight maybe?

At least we got Hondo when the line was still kicking. He never disappoints.

You would think, with all the advanced technology and what-not, that it would not be that hard to detect if an escape pod was missing from the wreckage. That thing was not small.

This whole "ability of the force to tell when people are alive or dead" thing is really one of the abilities they should spend some time honing. Because it seems to work just fine sometimes and is inexplicably useless most other times.

The lightsaber combat was solid, although after repeated viewings it is still impossible to tell exactly HOW Obi disarms Savage, but whateves. It was sweet to see him hold his own at least.

Not sure what the big endgame was supposed to be. Surround yourself with a gang of pirates? Is Maul really stupid enough to think that would protect him from the Jedi? Seems like they could have just used the credits and hidden away for awhile and come up with something better.

Seems like Sidious would be more concerned about this too. You've got sixth Sith lords running around the galaxy creating havoc now. That's three times more than your own self-mandated limit. Those morons can't even follow their own rules.

Glad to have the show back though, Hasbro's ongoing toy fail notwithstanding.

Ok, the Dropship is now making its way onto the shelves at Target, according to various store reports around the InterWebz.

Would be curious to hear if any of you other guys spot this out and about in your travels. I'm down for at least two, personally.

We have a good amount of Targets around here too, so fingers crossed. Good hunting!

Very nice pics, an impressive array of SW swag there!

I have an early X-Mas photo just like that one in your gallery, except I am opening the Cantina playset, not the Falcon. Good times.

Ours just got here this week, so I imagine there are a couple still around. We have a new store opening in about two weeks so I have high (ok, wildly unrealistic) hopes of a freshly stocked SW section swimming in all the latest offerings. We'll see.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Clone Wars Wave 29 (2012 Wave 4)
« on: September 27, 2012, 07:36 PM »
So...after reading comments online about some tweaks apparent on Wave 4 Rex versus Wave 3 Rex, I decided to buy a couple and compare them firsthand.

About the only difference I can really see is that the "horns" on Rex's helmet have been repainted in a darker, more vivid shade of blue with the latest wave. The weathering seems more or less the same to me, but that one deco has definitely been modified.

That, to me, just barely meets the minimum requirements for a true "variant", (as opposed to something obvious like the Clone Tank Gunner) but it's just different enough to motivate me to keep both versions.

Holy crap! I just saw an ad in the new Ozymandias comic for The Dark Knight Returns animated feature, based on the classic Frank Miller graphic novel!  :o

How did I miss hearing about this? Should I even be excited or is this going to be some watered-down pap that sucks out loud?

I guess it came out this week on DVD...

Other Toy Lines / Re: 2012: What Are You Collecting?
« on: September 26, 2012, 09:52 PM »
Just completed my collection of 2000AD Judge Dredd action figures, finally snagging Dredd to go with Death and Hershey. Nice to close that out in time for the new movie release.

Anyone else old enough to remember the Aurora Prehistoric Scenes model kits from the 60's-70's? Those things were really cool, had totally forgotten about them from my childhood but stumbled across a recent eBay auction and have been thinking about them ever since. I think I will be getting most of these, despite the cost. Pure, uncut nostalgia!

A happy and unexpected follow-up report...I found a complete set of TCW Wave 4 at a Walmart on my way home from work today! This place has been dead so long I wasn't even going to stop but man, I'm glad I did. When it rains, it pours I guess.

Thanks to Hasbro wisely doubling up on Fox in the new case assortment, I was able to snag one MOC and for openers, so I am officially done with carded Clone Wars figures for 2012.

And it's not even October yet.  :(

UM, what?!?!

Whoever was bidding that much must have thought they were bidding on all those items in that one living room photo.

I can't see one of those things being worth more than a Vlix. Does not compute.

Ok, this doesn't really count, but I'll post it anyway: another local collector here found Commander Fox at TRU today and was able to score me two for my collection, plus the re-painted/slightly tweaked Rex I keep reading about over at RS. (For the record, I see NO difference between Wave 3 Rex and Wave 4 Rex but some people swear that Hasbro tweaked the helmet apps/weathering so I am going to have to inspect up close to confirm)

He mentioned they also got in the speeder bikes (FINALLY) but no other new Clone Wars stuff.

It seems there is some sort of ref screw up in about every game.  They blew a pass interference call in the Skins game and they also didn't seem to have any idea about when to run off time on offensive penalties.  It will get real nasty if this continues on late in the season when the playoffs are on the line.

They also said the Skins game was over when it wasn't, and threw the flag on Lil Shanny for disputing the blown call, and then they reversed the call, put time on the clock, but still enforced the penalty.

Really, the last two Skins games have been heavily impacted by poor officiating. It's not as glaring as the single play in the Seashawks game, but that stuff adds up quickly over time. Especially the lack of holding calls.

None of the Lost Line wave has showed up at any stores anywhere near here. Our stores collectively seemed to have decided to stop re-stocking SW toys.

I can't say I really care because this a horribly lackluster wave, IMO, but I know some other local collectors that are getting pretty angsty about this one.
