You have to wonder if he is really worth it at this point.  Isn't he 36?  I think his price tag would cause salary cap issues for a lot of teams.  I'm sure the Redskin's fantasy football team captain owner will make a play at him, but I doubt Peyton wants to play in a colder climate or face his little brother twice a year.  I'm still hoping that the Skins trade up in the draft and pick a young QB.  Synder still hasn't learned his lesson about buying big name players though.

Apparently he has already told the 'Skins he is not interested in joining the team, so we can both breathe easier tonight. I guess he was not keen on facing Eli twice a year plus he seems to want to stay in the AFC. Crisis averted.

The Hunger Games is my wild card and I think it has the possibility of making the top 5 and knocking out The Amazing Spider-Man.  The books are huge and if the movie captures that it could do good things.  However, it's not what you would call a feel good story.  That could turn some people off and word of mouth could stop people from going if they didn't already know what the movie was about.

Here's my take on this movie, having only a vague idea of the plot and cultural zeitgeist:

The previews look boring. I don't know or care about any of the actors except Woody Harrelson and whoever the other adults of importance might be. It strikes me as some kind of tween mash-up of Lord of the Flies and The Lottery. Is this supposed to be some alternate reality or the future? The costumes seem ridiculous, even worse than that DUNE miniseries on SyFy a few years back.

Obviously as a cranky old man I am not the target audience for this thing, but neither am I for Project X or The Chronicle and those both looked a lot more interesting to me.

So much for that post-death plan of succession...

That place just gets weirder and weirder.

Anyone want to lay odds on the real story ever getting out?

What's Summer Glau doing now? Shouldn't she be joining the cast of another show that will soon be cancelled?

I kid...I miss her cute mug on TV, but she is the Kiss of Death. (Firefly, Terminator, Dollhouse, etc)

Is this the thread where we go to talk about how hot the girl who plays Ahsoka looks in her cosplay Ahsoka outfit?

Because I am not going to lie - its hot.

 ;D

Yes, let's talk about this.  :D

It's funny, Ashley is a cute enough gal I guess, not all that really, and the character she plays is a precocious preteen girl, which doesn't scream sexy to me either, but Ashley in cosplay AS Ahsoka?

FREAKING HAWT!

Peyton is released and nobody cares I guess...he sure would look good in purple

Yikes, the Ponder bandwagon over already?

Rooting for the Seahawks, Cardinals, or Dolphins to win the Manning sweepstakes, thus saving the Redskins from making yet another costly blunder that will set the franchise back even further.

RGIII FTW!

After all the chatter about the elusive Astromech BP going around, I snagged the last one I could find in this area today over lunch.

This same Walmart had dropped their clearance price on old Clone Wars figures to $1 a pop, but I didn't think to price check any of their old TVC stuff. Will definitely start doing that though.

Happened upon a Walmart over lunch today that had dropped their clearance price on SOTDS Clone Wars figures to $1! ONE freaking dollar. I snagged the only ones they had - an ARF Trooper and Battle Droid, but I will definitely be hitting more Walmarts on the way home to see what I can find. I know of at least one that has multiple Obis and Rex's.  ;D

I think this line has hands down the best distribution of ANY of the Hasbro lines. I don't collect them but I pay attention every time new stuff comes out and they consistently seem to do a good job A) stocking multiple cases, not just 1 and done, and B) having multiple new figures in the same case assortment.

The only recent MU figure I've NEVER seen is the astral Dr. Strange and I guess that is sort of rare anyway.

I wish Star Wars was as consumer friendly as this stuff.

And T-Dawg's ass is grass.  They're doing nothing with him.  He cannot be long for that world.

I suspect he may have more of a role next season based on where it appears the series is heading.  ;)

I'm not sure where we were discussing this, but I'll just put this thought in here...

So I was out and about, and it just sort of struck me as odd that I barely saw the Queen's Astromech set anywhere.  I think I saw it one time, and I was just thinking what a shame that was.  It's so vastly superior, IMO, than a lot of the other exclusive offerings at Wal-Mart except for the DTF wave itself...

And I really liked that it was the BAD sculpt that got used as well.  It added to the droid diversity.

But is this one of the toughest to find 2012 products out there?  I'm thinking it might be.  Not a lot has been hard to find, but I know I haven't seen this thing too often.

Adam P seemed to be implying the same thing over at GH. Apparently these sets only got stocked initially and there have been no subsequent restocks?
I can only find 1-2 around town here now, the other set seems more common. I'll probaby pick them up for trade bait. Would be a good straight up swap for a Scout Bomber.

Looks like Randall does a good job on Shane's face next Sunday...  Dude was iffy from the start

I caught that too, but it smells like BS. Randall is half starved, and mostly beaten to a pulp, and he's gonna lay out Travis Bickel on steroids? I don't see it.

I think Shane lets him escape for some reason. Maybe to force the group's hand, I don't know.

They should have laid off whoever is in charge of the Transformers line...that thing is a train wreck.

I saw scans of some new LEGO Avengers toy which had the "mystery villains" prominently pictured on the front of the box. AND YOU STILL CAN'T TELL WHAT THE $%^& THEY ARE!

Top 4 theories from around the Interwebz:

1) Skrulls
2) Kree
3) Inhumans
4) Atlanteans

I hope they go with #2, it's the only one not lifted right out of the pages of the Fantastic Four.

Yay! I just got an hour of my life back next year...FOX has officially cancelled "Terra Nova".

Let's just hope no one else is unfortunate enough to pick this up...let it die mercifully. I haven't missed this show one iota since it went off the air.

Kinda begs the question though, can FOX really cancel Terra Nova, Fringe, and Alcatraz all in the same year? Their network will be weirdness-free, kinda sad.
