When is the next wave coming out? These things were hitting fast and furious last year compared to SW.

Found a deluxe Y-Wing of all things today. PM if you're looking to trade.

PM sent!  ;)

Saw a lone Buzz with BARC tonight at a local Wally. It seems like those things really sold through fast, both sets. Wonder if they just had short runs or excellent holiday release timing?

Thanks Jeff, It was indeed easier to figure that out in the old packaging. I'm just wondering if they'll do likewise with the Maul packaging look.

The new battlepacks in the Maul packaging, for example, do not appear to be differentiated at all. The Republic Clone Troopers BP is not marked with the Clone Wars tag anywhere on the box that I can see.

I am hoping this is not going to be the case with the Deluxe sets and the mid-size vehicles as well. I honestly do not know how you would tell which items go with which line. (Which I'm sure is Hasbro's intent, frustrating as it is)

Sorry, didn't know where to post this...I don't see a thread for TVC Class 2 vehicles.

So the new ships have been spotted out in CA, according to GH. Again, I have looked closely at the attached scans and cannot for the life of me figure out how they are differentiating TCW and TVC vehicles now.

IS there a way to tell if a Class II (AKA midsize) vehicle is part of one line or the other?

I can assume the Pod Racers are part of the Vintage line, but I have no clue about the new AAT. The most recent AAT released was for the Clone Wars line, but does this thing belong there too?

I am hoping any TCW themed ships that may get released next year (if there are any) will have some sort of subscript or footnote/tagline/etc to set them apart. It actually does matter to some collectors like myself I think.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Republic Attack Shuttle

Interesting points by all...I do feel personally that it is not the responsibility of the show to prop up the toy line. Rather it is a failing on Hasbro's part that the toy selections are not in synch with the current media support.

Case in point: how many people remember those iconic appearances of Clone Commando Boss on the show? Right, me neither. But they decide to use one of the small handful of open figure slots for him next year? HUH?

I do wonder what the relationship between Hasbro and the show is like. Seems like they have a hard time getting enough advance intel to really keep the line fresh with what is happening on the show. Maybe they thought the RAS would have more of a presence but it never materialized, I don't know.

The Jedi T-6 Shuttle has long been on my Most Wanted List...one day maybe.

That's odd, the TPM figures I picked up at Target were still $8.99, I guess it pays if you snag them early sometimes. Plus not having any kind of reset/DPCI change.  :D

I wonder if they'll raise the MSRP on Clone Wars figures as well?

edit: NM, I see TCW has gone up to $8.99 per figure also. Crazy.

I don't think the issue is that they chose a Clone Wars option over a Vintage option...God knows I have seen at least as many B-Wings laying around as Attack Shuttles this holiday season. Same with the AT-AT last year before it hit clearance.

I think the issue is more that NO ONE was clamoring for the Attack Shuttle. There were no "Do you want the RAS?" threads or forum polls or anything akin to what we have seen for the Twilight. There was just no heat from the collecting community for this thing, and it was a bit pricey for simply a kid's toy.

It may just be that large size vehicles in general are just slow movers in this economy. I agree it does not bode well for future offerings, in any line.

I just read that the new TVC Deluxe sets have been spotted at a Walmart in CA, so Hasbro can stick that street date up you know where.  :D

Street dates are just ridiculous...they should have abandoned the whole idea long ago.

Other Toy Lines / Re: The Walking Dead
« on: January 2, 2012, 01:42 PM »
Thanks to a tip from a friend, I found a few of the Walking Dead Series 2 figures at TRU this morning. Of course Daryl Dixon was sold out, so God knows how long it will take me to track that #$%^& thing down.

My buddy had stashed the B/W Grimes variant for me too but apparently not well enough as it was nowhere to be found when I got by there. So that's two out of five I still need.

None of the comic shops here have gotten their allotment yet.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Recent Vintage Collection Purchases
« on: January 2, 2012, 01:37 PM »
I don't know about SKU's but I know for a fact the new vintage figures are the exact same DPCI as the old ones - so no change there and thus no need to clearance out the old product.

I am really hoping the new Clone Wars figures are the same DPCI too since I have a bunch to return still, but that is probably less likely given the packaging change.

Picked up a couple more $3.90 TCW figures at Walmart, along with a random non-clearanced Ponda Baba.

They have definitely cleared the real estate in the SW section of the toy aisle...even the stuff on clearance has been moved out to a special sales aisle. There is plenty of room if they ever get new product to actually put out. I wonder how long it will remain empty for before new stuff, or even old restock shows up.

Picked up a couple of $3.90 TCW pegwarmers at Walmart this morning, probably going to get in on some of that cheap BP action too.

Not seeing Deluxe vehicles anywhere I go these days...I still cannot believe the mini Y-Wing never showed up here. My hopes for these suddenly showing up out of the blue like the BARC/Jesse set are growing slimmer and slimmer...

As a Redskins fan watching the alamo bowl, I would be all for griffin

Yeah, that was the one bowl game so far I have really made a point to watch, for that very reason. The game was fabulous but not so much a showcase for RGIII's skill set. But why throw the ball when you have THREE guys run for over 100 yards in the game? That was redonkulous!

No doubt, you can see what Shanny likes in the guy. Decisive, mobile, quick release. I don't know about his footwork or arm strength, but he has at least as much upside as Schaub did before Kyle got ahold of him.

That is heartbreaking and deplorable, but it speaks more to the culture and leadership of China than it does to any moral failings on Hasbro's part, IMHO. What kind of government allows their people to be exploited in this way?

I did find this part interesting:

Hasbro reported $4 billion in revenue in 2010,
with an operating profit of $587 million.
In 2010, Mr. Brian Golden, Hasbro’s president, paid himself $23.15 million.

Are you kidding me?!?! And you STILL can't afford the tooling to put out more than 19 Clone Wars figures next year?

What, do all these sculpters make 10 million dollars a year each?

Maybe they should move that part of the business offshore too.

FOUR FREAKING BILLION and they can't afford to make me a Duchess Satine or Riff Tamson.  >:(
