I still think it was highly implausible all of the clones instantly turned on the Jedi in the first place. It's not like they were subliminally programmed or anything, there's still a chain of command and I'm pretty sure "Lord of the Sith" does not outrank "General of the Republic Armies".

And are we really to believe ALL these clones were trained to understand and execute this order ahead of time and NONE of the Jedi got wind of it? Suuuuure.

TCW has already established that clones are capable of independent thought and action. (As with the traitor last season) So it seems highly improbably guys like Rex and Cody would have gone right along with this no questions asked.

Vintage Kenner / Re: Latest vintage acquisition

That's awesome...I can't even find comics I want at comic conventions anymore, much less vintage figs.

What was the "ballpark" price of these items if you don't mind sharing?

I nabbed a replacement Death Squad Commander over the weekend on eBay but otherwise it's been pretty slow going for my vintage collecting lately.

Grabbed another Luminara last night because I found a particularly nice version at Target and wanted one for out of the box. Man, I love this fig! I actually had to go back and re-watch AOTC this weekend just for her brief cameos.

Wonder if we'll see any new stuff this week? BP's or the Freeco Speeder finally?

Good points, I'll buy that. I am 100% in favor of the films=canon only argument, so I will never argue against that logic. I guess my feeling is sort of that there are varying degrees of "EU-ness" and CW is pretty much the closest thing to the films continuity-wise. (Has to be because of the compressed timeframe)

Yeah, I'm just waiting to see a CGI-inserted Ahsoka somewhere in the next ROTS re-release.

Just by chance I happened to stop by Walmart at lunch and they actually had the Droid Factory Exclusive pack I wanted - Boba and BL-17, the only one on the shelf at all. I had seen these before but it didn't register about the Droids connection - once I realized that, the appeal was too strong to deny. Freakin' sweet.

Very well stated, Nick.

Can you offer up a similar analysis on why distribution and release dates for product is so horribly messed up right now? Why is Hasbro not able to definitively state when new toys will be available to retail outlets? There is 0 transparency right now.

If they spend so much time sketching out their production schedule 1-2 years ahead of time it seems inexplicably remiss not to put any thought into better timed releases.

EXAMPLE: SDCC Clone Wars Wave 10 street date 7/31/09 - NOT OUT YET
SDCC Clone Wars Speeder Bike w/Dooke & Freeco Speeder w/Obi-Wan street date 8/7/09 - NOT OUT YET

And this doesn't even touch on the insanity of releasing 3 waves right on top of each other, as they did recently with the CW line.

I'm really bummed that apparently there is nothing left out there for me to buy.  :-[

It's weird not being on the Hunt, especially on a Friday, which is usually a great "find" day.

So ready for those new BP's and Deluxe Vehicle/Fig sets to hit...

I would not consider Clone Wars to be EU...that's comics, books and video games, IMHO.

Clone Wars may not be written by Lucas but it is closely managed and sanctioned by the Man Himself in a way none of the other properties are. I would say it is quasi-canonical. I guess it's splitting hairs, but I feel like this is more than just a bunch of yahoos sitting around dreaming up their own shtick.

The new Aayla Secura might be a good bet too.

IMO, it's just crap writing. They painted themselves into a box on that one, creating an interesting villian and then killing her off because they figured the show would have a short run. Enter the $$$.

Once they got the green light for more episodes, they realized they had messed up and so they just went ahead and destroyed the continuity and integrity of the original animated series.

If it's a question of which comes first, there is no doubt the CW2D version happens AFTER the 3D version running now. Because the last episode is the kidnap of Palpatine from Coruscant which directly precedes ROTS.

After thinking about it, I think Jesse may be right that the 2D version skipped around a bit, timeline-wise.

Someone needs to tell these writers that eventually, somehow, someway, they are going to have to start killing off some of the bad guys, not just all the good guys. IT'S OK TO SHOW THE BAD GUYS LOSE ONCE IN AWHILE TOO!

TRU Crumb bomber
TRU Tie Interceptor x2
Gungan #8
Rum #2
Qui-Eopie Jinn x5

The Tie Interceptor is freaking awesome! While overpriced the new details are really cool and very well done!

I WISH I could have paid the TIE Interceptor price for my Crumb Bomber! $73 is almost as much as the old Walmart Exclusives are going for on eBay these days...yikes.

Anyone find any of the new BP's yet? Any more sightings of the Crumb Bomber?

I'm already jonesing for new product...

Why yes, I bought one today...funny you should ask.  ::)

I've barely even had a chance to look at the outside of the box, but I am super psyched this is off The List now.

Bring on more new figs! I'm ready for Matchstick!
