Interesting tidbit from the latest round of Hasbro Q&A (courtesy of swcollector.com):

"A new cold weather Obi-Wan is coming shortly in The Clone Wars figure line."

I know many had surmised as much, but it's great to see it confirmed in writing. Definitely looking forward to this one... (Wave 9 maybe?)

I was lucky enough to win the elusive Security Scout mini-rig tonight on eBay. That is a tough one to find for whatever reason, but I came across a nice loose one for a decent price. Kind of surprised I won it actually, but extremely pleased.

Now I just need to hunt down that Imperial Sniper and Sand Skimmer and I am good to go.

Hm, if the Octuptarra isn't selling so well, I would say it's due more to the price bump than the toy itself. Everyone I know who has bought one has loved it. Sounds like a one and done...bummer.

I am on record as being 100% in support of the Twilight as the next Big Ship offering. Could not agree more.

Am I really the ONLY one who LOVED the super tanks? To me, these are like gold because we instantly have a new candidate for the next $100 TCW toy. Sign me up right now...I want it.

This is a 4 episode arc, so they'll be on Geonosis for two more eps. Fine with me, best stuff they have done yet IMO.

I didn't feel like it was Anakin's possessiveness so much that they were trying to show as his complete inability to deal with the concept of personal loss. Pretty much his Achilles heel, as we see in ROTS.

Luminara is my favorite Jedi, but I agree that her attitude seemed a little too detached in that situation.

HATE the new time slot, WTF does Cartoon Network have against Joss Whedon? LEAVE IT AT 8PM!

Sorry for the stupid question, but if they're in stock now, why would they wait until 12/1 to ship them? That doesn't seem like good customer service. Sounds more like a backorder. (Having worked in a mailorder dept, I know this is an anathema to most customers)

It's a pretty nice set, just found one this morning at TRU and nabbed it immediately. I think the carded Commando Droid was just a regular one, whereas the BP actually has the Commando Captain.

Picked up the Rishi Moon Outpost Attack BP this morning at TRU. I'm officially done until Wave 7 or the 2 Target exclusive BP's come out. Whew!

Do a search on eBay...they have tons of vintage pieces/parts out there relatively cheap. That's where I have replaced all my missing or damaged pieces from my original vintage collection.

I saw the CW Padme/Matchstick wave, the CW deluxe wave with Obi-wan and Dooku on speeders today, and also picked up a Cad Bane for my nephew - I really hope this is the last CW wave that shows up this year - with all the various products to hunt for, heres hoping the Aayla wave doesnt show up until January.

I'd be happy either way at this point. It'd be nice to have one more wave to close out the year, but I hate the thought of hunting for these in December with all that holiday madness. I got a taste of it this week and am over it already. For what it's worth, EE has this listed as "Coming in December" but who knows what that means for actual stores.

Picked up some loose (bagged) figures today from a local shop today.

Short mouth Biker Scout (complete with blaster)
Rancor Keeper (my orig. vintage one was ****)
Nien Numb (mint with blaster)
Walrus Man (minty with blaster)
Klaatu (grayish face, fuzzier skirt)

all for $36.

Dude, that's outrageous. Splendid work there. I think my short mouth biker ran me close to $20 and didn't come with the original gun either. If I could find stuff like that around here I would be in heaven.

I don't want to derail this thread either because I love this forum and want to stay on the good side of the Mods, but I'll make 2 quick points and get back on topic.

I don't display any of the "new" stuff I buy, or even open it. Only the vintage stuff is on display, and that is all in the Man-Cave where the wife rarely makes an appearance. So anything I buy out in a store gets sneaked into the house surreptitiously and immediately stashed away. Only bigger packages showing up at the front door attract attention. THAT's what I am trying to avoid.

As for the other stuff, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I would just say that we should probably be careful about applying our own wisdom and experience to other people's situations though. There are a lot of complex relationship dynamics between men and women and it's really impossible to make snap judgements without being in those shoes. 'Nuff Said.

I got my refund for the Faux-Blue Apron Ugnaught and promptly re-invested it in a nice Bespin Luke Brown Hair variant.

Making some good head way on the variant list...should be wrapping up the non-premium variants in the next couple of weeks. Then back to the 10 remaining POTF figs, and finally playsets and vehicles.

I get so many recommendations from people to order online, I really need to add a disclaimer as my sig:

"Thanks for your concern, but online ordering is NEVER going to be an option for me as long as I am married to my current wife. You fine people simply do not grasp the atomic level intensity of my wife's temper when it comes to boxes of worthless junk toys showing up at our house. I do not need that kind of stress in my life. I would rather have my nuts splattered with a ballpeen hammer than to endure that kind of unrelentingly painful punishment."

Trust me, it's much more appealing to go through the angst and frustration of driving store to store than to put up with any more of that nonsense.
