Thats what I thought too DSJ. If  we don't see C-3PO in the next series, I'll be really surprised.

These will go for nothing like the Fett's. There will be about 10 times more R2's than Fett's and the Fett cool factor.

Still, I don't want to put a price on them yet.

I wish they would have kept the same style card top, but R2 still looks pretty cool...

I'm guessing these will be ending between $100-$200, eventually they'll be less than a $100, if its easier to get than Fett than it should be cheaper.

Was Luke given out at the same Con last year???

He was sold and ordered at The Art of Star Wars at Kyoto National Museum

Looks nice, but it breaks my heart/wallet that it's carded and not loose, even though that's pretty much what I expected.  You know what this means?  I need two of 'em.   :'(  'Cause unlike the previous Fett and Luke (aside from the hair), we already had those same figures loose, so a carded version wasn't a big deal.  Not the case with this R2 though...

So I'll need to track down a nice carded one first, and then see if I can find a good deal for a loose one later on down the line...  I see Adam's already hard at work on getting his!   ;)  I'll be monitoring the situation closely.

So, I assume no other news from the show, eh Simon?  Nothing on Series 3?   :-\  Oh well, guess we can wait a bit longer for the news, and let R2 enjoy the spotlight for a while!

Could be Adam. If they do come out with a Droid series, they can go far with it...

Woah, woah, woah...  Slow your roll there big guy!  Let's not get too carried away here D!   :P  Very few people would want to see a Droids or Ewoks line of Kubricks before we get a WHOLE LOT more of the regular figures from the movies!

This R2 was cool, and I suppose I could even stomach a matching C-3PO if I had to, but I sure as heck wouldn't want them going any further than that!  Just like the 4" line - I'd much rather get some new figures from the movies, rather than the various EU lines.

The race is on!  Though there's clearly a frontrunner this time 'round...  Go get it, Mr. President!   8)

(that doesn't count our resident Aussie, of course, who sounds like he's already snagged R2  ;))

That Droids R2 is sweet.  Hopefully it will get under $100.00.  If not I think I'm going to pass.  Here are a couple pics of yesterday's mail haul.

I'm all caught up on Star Wars now except for carded Fett, Luke, and R2.  I want to get Luke and R2, but that Fett will never grace the presence of my collection.

I agree with JediMAC about how Kubrick should focus on the movies first and foremost for the next couple of series. In fact I don’t want to see non-movie series to merge with the current line (unless they’re chase figs). If they want to start an animated series, it’ll keep everyone happy if they do it as a separate line.

Nice pics Padawan. Love the MGS2 set! I like how they include the status/reaction mark on the Russian guards.

A lot of folks are expecting C-3PO to finally make an appearance in Series 3, and I think he probably will.  And if he does, my revised guess for the Series 3 Chase figure in the regular 3PO box would be a Droids C-3PO, to go along with his Droids R2 counterpart...

Of course, that would bring about a pretty big problem for most people.  I'm sure you can guess what that is...

A carded R2 won't look so hot next to a loose Droids C-3PO, now would it?!   :P
