« on: June 3, 2005, 05:39 PM »
Everyone and their dog has done clones, but I'm new to all this so I had to try my hand at 'em.  I've been experimenting with different types of tape, paint, and pen with all these figures, so please bare with me and gimme some feedback.  :D

Aerial Clones

Gree and Co.

And of course...

Those all look excellent to me!  I like the pack on the back of your Commander Gree.  My only thing would be to dirty Gree up a bit.  Some blaster scorch marks, scrapes, and knicks in his armor would look really cool.
I like your Shocktroopers and that you kept them clean, they look great that way.  If you're just starting out in customizing then I'm completely blown away because these all look incredible!
The scariest thing that I've ever seen,
Is the terrible AT-AT walking machine.
It's as big as a house on walking legs,
and whatever it steps on it crushes like eggs.

Thanks Gregorbian, you are too kind.  :D  Of course, without the help and advice of all you guys here, they'd surely look a lot worse.

I think you're right about Gree...it seems he's a difficult clone to master.  Right now I'm working on filling out a squad for Gree - a bunch of spec ops guys for him to command.  They won't be like the biker scouts, though.  I'm thinking a cross between the Republic Commando and Gree might look kinda cool.  I'm just fleshing out their weaponry right now.

mmmm...custom weaponry...that's hot.

Very cool clones. I like the sky/ground concept of the clones.

First of all, welcome!

I have to say, I love the custom squad. Fan-fic clones are my favorite.

The others, especially the Coruscant clones, look great. Looking forward to seeing more from you!

What he said.  U have a knack for good paint apps.  I really dig the accessoires on gree.  what line are they from?

I've never seen the back of Gree, and I think that little extra u put in really makes that figure.

Shock troopers are nice and crsip, those lines look ruler drawn!  Very nice imagination on the Aerial Troops.

Excellent camera work Hoss!

Talon,

Gree's backpack straps are made from a BBI figure, just like the one I did, and the one CHEWIE did.

Thanks guys!  I'm flattered that you all like my stuff.

Hehe, I stole the Gree backpack idea from Chewie and DD.  I probably wouldn't have even thought about using my BBI or GIJoe stuff for customs had it not been for them.  I cut the lower half of the BBI backpack off and used the extra plastic to glue around his leg holster.  The holster also came from the BBI figure, I just carved it up a bit with an Xacto.

The exact figure is the Navy Seal Breacher.

Again, thanks for the help, advice, and warm welcome!

B

Well I'll be damned, another awesome Clone customizer among our ranks!  Welcome to our humble community!

Let me start off with the Gree - that is top notch work.  I love it!  You did a perfect job on the backpack as far as I'm concerned - that is stunning.  Great paint job too.

The Shocktroopers look very nice too - I love how straight your paint lines look.  I hope Hasbro releases this figure on a SA body...

The Aerial troopers look nice too - I like the EU paint scheme you gave them.

Well done, and I can't wait to see more of your work.   :)

I'm digging all of it, the paint apps are very well done...which is something I can appreciate because I suck at it!

I really like the Arial Clones scheme, very clever.

I had a chance to see these in person a few weeks ago  - all I can say is that they're great in the pictures and even better in person.

I was really impressed with the accessories from other lines you used to detail your Clones - and the paint application isn't too bulky or thick, it's a nice wash technique that has some nice depth and layers.

Simply awesome!

Thanks DP.  Although I suspect ulterior motives with your praise.  You just want a kiss and hug, don't you?  I'm not THAT easy.   ;)

Thanks also MJ.
