Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Jedi Council sets 3 & 4

Yeah, I'm laugin' it up over that one.  I wannna see that as our new mascot.  The quote's just too much.  :)

The kitbashes are sort of silly.  Sculpt a new head at least, ya know?  And you KNOW these aren't going to be like $10 or so, to adjust for the obviously lessened cost of mold tooling.

I mean, give a new head to Eeth Sloth...  Give some figures a LITTLE retooling.  Not everything, just a little bit.  Make it worth the (you know it's gonna cost) price they'll inevitably charge.

Cloth does NOT cost this much.  I've been to the fabric store looking to do my own soft-goods customs, it doesn't cost an arm & a leg for some knit fabric!   :P

I actually cut Woodchuck Luke's teeth out when I got the POTJ figure ages ago...  I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought to do that.  Just wish Hasbro had tried fixing it back in the day rather than letting it go to production that way.

I'm debating his height anymore, but all in all he's not a bad figure.

These are still ones I won't be buying...  THe Hoth Vader's not enough for me to buy it.  The Luke Bespin is one I'm on the fence on....

The Gamorrean does look a bit crisper.  That's neat, in a way.  Shows how good a sculpt that was.

Anyone think Bossk's sporting POTF2 legs on Saga body?  Hmmm

I may  nab him if that's the case.  Much more "ESB-ish" than his Saga counterpart if that's the case.  The Saga one's almost an EU version of Bossk sorta running.

That's how my local KM is BB.

$3 each for the wall 'O Zam, and full (over) price for "new" figures like those Hall of Fame wave figures.

KB's doing the same sham...  Spiking prices to $6.99 at times for new figures.

Hmmm

I'm miffed at the inaccurate shirt still...  I may hold off a long time, just to see what comes of this set as far as clearances.  I'd rather wait on Hasbro to either make an accurate carded figure or to do it myself eventually than to pay the $20 for it if it's still inaccurate.

At least it's not as bad as those online images implied though.  Yikes that was an oogly figure.

Power of the Force 2 / Re: Mail Away A-wing Pilot?
« on: May 23, 2004, 07:05 PM »
I can confirm that didn't exist, but I can also say that if you tried you likely COULD get Hasbro to mail you an A-Wing pilot.

I got ann AT-AT on clearance (super low) with no figures...  They'd been stolen.  After contacting Hasbro I got an AT-AT Commander and Driver in the mail, in plastic baggies.  Just like Kenner used to do back in the day, Hasbro held onto some extras in bags (at least pack-ins) during the POTF2 days.

This is likely what the seller has, and he's stuffed it into any one of the mailer boxes that were legit to other figures.

I got my figures in a padded envelope, in sealed plastic baggies, not a mailer.

I'd assume this is the Seller's scam, or he genuinely thinks this is legit.

I disappointed in Philadelphia's loss...

Go Calgary.

Was really hoping to see two teams I liked go to the playoffs, but alas it wasn't to happen.  Now it's all on Calgary for me.

Yeah, it makes you wonder....  I'm really hoping for some cleared pegs soon.  I haven't been to stores for a while (mostly cuz of rising gas prices).  When I do go I fear I'm going to see the same old stock I saw last time I was out though, and all those damned Jedi and Youngling repacks that plagued EVERY Wal-Mart in my area.

I don't know which is worse.  The Jedi/Younglings or late 2002/early 2003 stock that's now lying about the TRU stores here.

Here's some weirdness...

My nearest K-Mart still has that sea of Zam figures, BUT....

Now they have the Hall of Fame wave.  Leia, R2, 3PO, and 2 Stormtroopers are still there for $5.79 (i think that's the price).

And the next furthest K-Mart on the way to my girl's house is loaded with remnants of the Ozzel wave, Yavin Wave's there in semi-abundance I think (she was there, nto me) and they had some of Jabba's Palace as well.

$6.19 per figure there I believe she said.

Strange...

Wes only pulled that chick because of Picard...  She thought getting in with him would get her in good with the old man.

What's more, Wes didn't even get anywhere with her.  He just went back to SF Academy with his tail between his legs after Data rescued the crew from that stupid holo-game that was brain-washing the crew.

Wes is still a yutz.

He'd never have matured to pull the kinda ladies Riker and Piccard did...  A disgrace to the Prime Directive's little brother, the Prime Ladies Directive.

"As Starfleet Officers, it's your duty to be space pimps yo!"

Admiral Kirk made that one up before he "died".  He had a slew of them, they were like the Rules of Acquisition for Starfleet, created by one perverted old man with a hairpiece.

I.....

Simply won't care.

It can end tomorrow and I'd not weep about it...  I'll have films on DVD if I wanna watch them.  I've got figures, and I will still customize to make my own...

Beyond that I'd just enjoy the hobby as I always have.  Collecting's just an area that fills a small void.  Customizing's always been more fun to me, and more satisfying and it won't end with the line's end.

If there's a TV series, I just hope it's good...  If there's new movies, well I hope they're good too.  None of it really bothers me though...  There's things I'd like to see but if not I'll still be "collecting" just in my own way.  :)

And at least then I'll know what I HAVE to make instead of guessing only to have Hasbro create it sometime down the road!

I know I'd spend a lot less time in stores, and have a bit more $ on me than I currently do.  That's not really bother me at all.

I'd posted a news blurb here at JediDefender.com not too long ago alerting the public that he'd made a mass resurgence here in Pittsburgh.

Every TRU I hit save for one (which I didn't hear a report on from anyone so he may have showed there as well) saw reshipments of him.

It was likely old warehouse stock I'm betting, but he did show again in decent enough #'s that I know a few guys in my area who missed him got one.

He's shipping in his original case assortment Dave, so he's on his original card.  Again I think this is old stock, not technically "new shipments" from Hasbro.  A lot of stores seem to be getting some old things in, and it is inventorying time of year.

I wonder which branch of the Seps it's from?  Not a Trade Fed design judging by how it appears...  Quarren perhaps?

I'm anxious for the new films just for all the new information.

A nice list...  I just read that too Scott.

It's nice to see the Coruscant Wave's still the Coruscant Wave and not preview figures.  Gives hope for "Something more" to be unveiled in the coming months and things.

A wookie warrior's going to go over well methinks.  I hope it makes for a GOOD wookie custom base without "things" on him.  I've wanted a Chewie with removable bandoleir for that very reason (I'm hoping for the VOTC, but the more the merrier anyway).

Another Astromech should do well, so long as it's a poseable one.  I've found the posed ones without retractable legs are often not popular.

I have been thinking that Grevious would've been a preview figure for ages now.  He's the big pimpin' figure of this line, I can see it coming.  Deluxe, and about 6 basic versions of him in a single freaking year.  :(
