Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Jedi Council sets 3 & 4
« on: June 28, 2004, 03:51 PM »
I see that a few Scalper "High-Demand" Shops have the First of the TRU box sets in stock.  I guess that means that these are on thier way to TRU.  Should be here in the next couple of weeks I guess...

I think the pegs will be clogged with the OTC... much like the PotF2 1997 bonanza.

Instead of peg after peg of Green Card Ackbar, Malakili, 2-1B, and ASP Droid, we'll have peg after peg of OTC Bib, OTC FF Leia, OTC Scan Trooper, and more!

I have seen over 8 different case packs/waves and there are still about 12 figures that haven't even been solicited yet in pre-order cases.  That works out to another 3-4 cases right there!

TOO MANY FIGURES!

From NewForce:
"Shipping Updates

...
Hasbro: Small amount of new SW cases are in route to us, to arrive next week."

Yet another confirmation that these will soon be here...

My stress-free line to collect is DC Direct Pocket Heroes.

I do nothing other than tell my local shop I want them.  Now, whenever a new set is released, they hold one for me at the shop and I just pick it up when I come in for my weekly comics.

No Fuss, No Muss.  The only trick part is the convention exclusives, but those can be easily obtained via eBay since very few people collect the Pocket Hero line, the prices never go up much more than $4-5 each for the convention figures.

MUCH simpler than trying to collect Star Wars or a line with chase figs like Mattel's Batman, Toy Biz's Legends, or any others.

All you Canucks out there thank your lucky stars for dogs, eh?

Friendly Dog Prevents Killing Spree?

Crazy... I dare say though, that you won't find cats repelling 6,000 bullet toting crazies!

Forgot to add that I will be picking this one up next Tuesday:

One of my all time favorite bands is back with a new album.  Cool-ness indeed.  About time they put out a new album since their "style" has been copped by so many of todays little goth bands.

Dug out this classic to enjoy today:

"Life, it seems, will fade away
Drifting further every day
Getting lost within myself
Nothing matters, no one else "

Agreed.

Forever Uncle Jesse!

That other guy is just a wannabee.

Bye Bye Beltran...
Watch out Cubs and Birds!
3 team deal gets done.

Houston just got better...

I'll be sad to see him go, he was the only real reason to get excited when the Twins played KC.  I really though KC was headed in the right direction with Pena, but I guess we can safely say now it was just a fluke.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: 2004 NEW NEWS ON SANDCRAWLER
« on: June 25, 2004, 09:40 AM »
I saw this one at another site...

http://shop.southernisland.com/SearchResult.aspx?KeyWords=sandcrawler

$39.95 plus shipping at this little AZ comic/collectibles shop.  I have NO idea if these guys are reliable, I'm just passing on the info for those that are still on the fence on this one.

Strange how the first pre-orders were at $60, then a bunch of places posted it at $50, now we're seeing $40 prices.  I wonder how much it will drop before it's all said and done?

I'd have dumped the re-packs and then kept going as follows...

2004 Wave 1 (Saga) - Hoth
2004 Wave 2 (Saga) - Tatooine
2004 Wave 3 (Saga) - Jabba's Palace
2004 Wave 4 (Saga) - Yavin 4
2004 Wave 5 (Saga) - Star Destroyer
2004 Wave 6 (Saga) - Endor Generals
2004 Wave 7 (OTC) - Dagobah
2004 Wave 8 (OTC) - Bespin

2004 Wave 9 (OTC) - Mos Eisley Cantina
Hem Dazon (Arcona)
Feltipern Trevagg (Goat looking guy)
Bom Vimadin (horn-head guy)
Elris Helrot (Scream Guy)

2004 Wave 10 (OTC) - Star Destroyer ReDux
Imperial Naval Officer (Dress uni w/rank insignia, not that jugly jump suit)
Zuckuss
4-LOM (these two look bad compared to the new Fett/Bossk/Dengar)
Imperial Dignitary #3 (hey!  If Antilles counts for Yavin 4, I can fudge a bit too)

2004 Wave 11 (OTC) - The Death Star
Han Solo (Stormtrooper Disguise)
Luke Skywalker (Stormtrooper Disguise)
Chewbacca w/kick-ass bowcaster and binders
Grand Moff Tarkin - new sculpt, able to pose with hand on chin

Yeah... that'd do it.  ALL of which would be brand new sculpts (Stormie Han and Luke could use parts from SA Clone Trooper though).

*sigh*

I have only picked up the "super-poseable" Spidey from the Spider-Man 2 line so far, but after reading THIS REVIEW over at mwctoys.com, I'm awfully tempted to get this magnet version just for fun.  Some of those poses look pretty cool, the magnets must be fairly strong.  Has anyone picked this figure up yet?

Bsed on the cool looking pictures, I picked this one up at Target last night (on sale for $5.28).  For less than $6, you get a kick-ass uber-articluated Spidey that can be pretty much posed any place in my metal-frame cubilce office.

I highly recommend Magnetic Spidey from Spiderman 2!  Well worth the $6.

It's stuff like this that make me wonder why the vOTC end up at $10, when Spidey kicks 30+ point of Articulation at $6... I know, different license, differnt scale, etc, but DANG!  This Spidey rocks.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Dagobah wave
« on: June 24, 2004, 12:16 PM »
Hmmm...

Last year's exclusives for this convention were the Han/Chewie 2-pack and Obi-Wan/Vader 2-pks.

They were both re-pack sets as well, but with new convention-exclusive boxes.  I am not sure if they weer ever released en masse in the USA.  The Silver Boba Fett from that convention was released to the US, because they were sponsored by LFL.  The Box Sets though, were sponsored directly by the convention itself and were only offer to the US via eBay or secondary markets.

Cool, but not worth $25 in my book...

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: We Need More Cantina Figures!
« on: June 23, 2004, 05:17 PM »
I hope some of those rumors pan out...

A Cantina #2 set with Hem Dazon, Bom Vimadin, and Feltipern Trevagg would go a LOOOOONG way towards making up for all the rest of the OTC re-hashes.

It'd be like my own little personal apology letter from HAsbro... "Sorry Mr. ticked-off long time collector.  Here's an OT Cantina scene 3-pack to make amends"  :)
