Kubricks / Series 5
« on: July 15, 2005, 01:48 PM »
Oh Indy goes back to Series 2 when they had the Indiana Jones chase figure. Brent was waiting on his box from HLJ and was hoping to get the Indy chase and he got excited and kept posting Indy.......Indy.....  ;D

Sadly Brent did not score an Indy out of the box.  :'(

But I did... and it forever set me down the dark path - seeing that little fedora stick out of the silver bag was like pure joy!  Now, here I sit waiting on a Master case of Series 4 - a Kubrickaholic!   ;D

with the japan shipment, i found the chases in box 3 and 4.

however with the hk side, i found the chases in box 1 and 4..

Hmmm... Very interesting.  thanks for that, it seems like it clears the picture up a bit.   :)

Okay so here are my beautiful diagrams again.  Please note I had to flip the boxes over in the master case to get them like that.

Just wanted to drag this back to the front (after it sunk to 7-8 pages back)...

Am I correct in hearing that Padawan found the Chases in Box 1 and 4, but Simon found the Chase in Box 3 and 4 - correct?

And, it sounds like Tony found the Luke/Vader chase in a middle box as well.

Sounds like the Stormie Twins are definately in "Box 4" and Vader/Luke Chase is in box 3 (or possibly Box 1).

Anyone care to test that theory with their Master Case?  :)

As Pete and I were speculating earlier in the thread, it sure sounds like these $15 price point Metal Figures sure had something to do with the decision to ditch the successful unleashed line...

From RebelScum's SDCC QnA:

Quote
"Is Hasbro in fact changing the Unleashed line, and if so why such a drastic change in size? Is there any chance we’ll see some ‘special’ old style 7” figures released for fans of that scale?

A change is coming for a number of reasons, some having to do with price point issues at retail, more will be revealed as Hasbro outlines their plans for 2006 during Friday’s panel. While there are no plans for more 7” Unleashed figures beyond what’s been announced, Hasbro would not rule out the possibility of more at some point in the future."[/

Remember the "One of Every Figure" Club that Hasbro tried to start and was pimping at Celebration 3?

It sounds like the buzz from Comic-Con is that the idea is dead in the water.

Gee, who would have though that offering Collectors a "complete" set of #1-56 plus 4 Army Builders for MORE than retail price (AFTER they already bought #1-36 in the week following Midnight Madness) would flop?   ::)

Sounds like the are pulling the plug on the whole thing at this point...

Could HasbroToyShop be the next to go?

Looking at the awesome stock of Army Builders they have (AFTER they said at Celebration 3 it would be no problem keeping figures in stock), I'm guessing this store is a flop too.   :-X

Maybe, just maybe Hasbro will learn a little something about Case Assortments/ratios from the store before it goes under... (one can hope, right? :-\)

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Battle Packs (5 figure sets)
« on: July 15, 2005, 09:48 AM »
Is KM the only one getting the 5-packs though?  It seemed like they may only be getting the one...  The 501st one, which people would want in abundance.  The others were TRU's I thought?

I think the first 3 are still expected everywhere:
Rebels vs. Empire
Jedi vs. Separatists
Jedi vs. Sith

Then, the next 3 are exclusives:
TRU = Hoth Battle
K-Mart = Jedi Temple Raid
? = Emperors Throne Room

Still trying to get that confirmed at this point though...

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Jango Fetts question
« on: July 15, 2005, 09:41 AM »
Phooey. I pretty much figured that would be the answer. :( But many thanks all the same!

Could someone possibly check if FB is compatible with SP?

The Sneak Preview and Kamoino Escape are VERY close to the same, so the Sneak Preview and Kamino Escape backpacks are pretty much interchangable, but neither seems to work with my Final Battle Jango.

What she needs instead is a "holo-hood"  ;)

 :o

Do you think the hood from the TRU Holo Emperor would work?   :-\

If the hood is removable on that figure like it is on the #11 RotS figure it is based on, it might just work.  Hmmm... I might just have to try it when I get home with my RotS #11 Emperor and my FF Leia.   :)

No mention of the black Clone Pilot, red Shock Trooper, and green Clone Commander though...

Well, maybe they aren't at Comic-Con, but it looks like a few e-tailers are starting to get these in stock!

Green #33 Clone Commander:

Red #6 Clone Trooper:

They are definately retaining the old #ing...

Please, please let Gree, Bly, and the 501st trooper ship at least 3 to a case ;).  though.

Great, now you jinxed us!   ::)  You just watch, the case assortment will be something like:

1x 57 Commander Bly
1x 58 Wookiee Commando
1x 59 Commander Gree
2x 60 Greivous Bodyguard
2x 61 Passel Argente
2x 62 Cat Miin (Shu Mai’s Aide)
3x 63 Nemoidian Commander

If it happens, I'm coming after you!   :P

I think they're just going to appear on their original #'d cards:

Red Trooper - #6
Green Clone Commander - #33
Black Clone Pilot - #34

At least, that was my initial understanding of things.

That was my take on it too...  I think it must be because they are keeping the same name eg "Clone Commander" or "Clone Pilot".

All the figures #57-68 got different names and therefore different numbers it looks like (even though they are repaints) - well, except Grievous bodyguard, he looks like he has the same name and a new number. (the exception that proves the rule?  :-\)

Who is this?

Just talked to Jared, and he's got an official list of all the names and numbers now, that he'll be posting soon.  But regarding the figure in question, it's:

#62 - Cat Miin (Shu-Mai's aide)

Thanks!  Guess that clears that up... another EU-esque figure I didn't realize I needed until just now.   :P

As for the dillwad who stole the Commander Bly paint-sample - Dumbass!  Won't that be fun if the figure is substantially delayed or cancelled because of that pukehole.   >:(

Just to play devil's advocate -- wasn't the Unleashed line very unpopular initially?  Perhaps the same could happen with this line?

At least we were getting a larger, 6" plus figure for our $15 though, not just a 4" figure made of metal ;). Of course, you never know, we could all change our tune once these come out.

Popular-scmopular.   Feh.

I have waaaaay more 3.75" scale plastic Boba Fetts right now than I will ever need and I have no motivation to start over with a brand new 3.75" line...  especially if each figure is at a $15 price point.   >:(

Hasbro, there is no reason to start ANOTHER 3.75" line - especially not a die cast line when, as Matt pointed out, Attakus is doing the same thing!

Good luck to those of you who are excited about this line, but for me this is an easy one to skip.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Figure Fun Facts!
« on: July 14, 2005, 01:14 PM »
Here's a fun fact... at the current pace, the #1 Obi-Wan and #2 Anakin will eventually pass CommTech Cantina Han as the most re-packaged figure of all time!

CommTech/Cantina Han:
1 - CommTech carded
2 - 2003 Saga carded
3 - 2004 HoF carded
4 - 2004 OTC carded
5 - Sam' Club OTC Falcon Pack-In
6 - C-3PO Carry Case Pack-In
7 - Target Figure w/Cup set

That's not counting how many Han figures there are, that's JUST how many times that particular sculpt has been used!

Here are the stats on #1 Obi and #2 Ani:

RotS #1 Obi-Wan Kenobi:
1. RotS Basic Carded
2. Target Figure w/Cup Set
3. TRU Blue Starfighter Pack-In
4. Target "Lava Reflection" repaint

RotS #2 Anakin Skywalker:
1. RotS Basic Carded
2. TRU Green Starfighter Pack-In
3. Temple Raid 5-Pack version
4. Target "Lava Reflection" repaint
