Who is this?

At first, it was said she is Shu Mai in a different outfit...  but now some people are saying it isn't Shu Mai but rather her aide?  Sounds like EU junk to me.  Any of you EU guys know what I'm talking about?

Also, one thing I didn't quite notice on this figure last night (probably due to sleepiness), but is that supposed to be Lightsaber damage on her torso?

Much better.  Nice to see that Hasbro came to their senses and removed the ridiculous blasters.

I think it sucks!

Now, when my TRU Holographic Palpatine comes after her with his Holo Lightsaber and Holo Sith Lightning, she won't have Holo Blasters to shoot back!  It's an outrage!!!

I guess Holo Yoda, Holo Plo Koon, and Holo Aayla can still step in to save her with their Holo lightsabers though...

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Secret Figures!?

The concept is ok by me though...  I just hope these aren't a bitch to find...  I hate chase stuff.

I missed the GH post on this I guess.  Is this confirmed to be a "Chase figure" situation?  If that's the case I'm vehemently against the idea.

I agree with you Jesse that fundamentally, I am OK with the concept of using the Army Builder figures to give us paint variants.  The Clones, the Wookies, they are pretty cool.

What I am against however is two-fold:

1)  Why does EVERYTHING have to be repaints?

These figures would be much more well received if there were 6-9 Clone/Wookiee repaints mixed in with 6-9 NEW figure sculpts.   I think more people would be really excited if they just given us the Clone and Wookiees - they could have skipped the Cinema Scene repains and the repaints of figures that are all over the shelves - Wookiee #43 and Nemoidian #42 jump readily to mind, as does the Magnaguard.  Why re-do them NOW when they are still plentiful?  Like you said, they have to learn to spread these around a bit and mix in some new figures.

2)  Will they be easy to find?

I think this is everyone's concern.  A Red #6 Clone and a Blue #41 Clone ROCK, but if I can't find them because they are only 1-per-case in cases that Target/TRU aren't ordering because they are chocking on old stuff?  That will suck.

I don't think as many people would be mad if all these weren't dumped in at the end of the line where many of them will inevitable be hard to find  (using history as an example - end of the FF run, end of the Ep1 run).

Who wants to get excited about a kick-ass Blue repaint of the #41 Clone if you will never see him at retail?

And, to answer your other question, no one is quite sure yet what the hell Hasbro means by "secret" figure...  :-\

Jeff - are you serious?  This is a TRU exclusive??

According to the little sign in front of the Falcon box at SDCC, yep it's a TRU exclusive.  I think the sign mentions an October date as well...

Again, I think this was another miscommunication from a Hasbro rep trying to describe something before the figures were unpacked and on display...

I don't think it is meant to be an ARC Trooper, but a Gray Clone TRooper from RotS... although with the removable helmets these have, you could probably put the Ep2 Helmet on him and just call him an ARC.   ;)

Revenge of the Sith / Re: TRU Exclusive Holographic Emperor
« on: July 14, 2005, 12:39 AM »
I guess I disagree with you guys (not that there's anything wrong with that  :D).

I'd LOVE a holo-Emperor as a pack-in with a Commander Cody figure... but a 3.75" Holo-Emperor after just getting one last fall is kinda -meh- for me.

Jeff needs to get hopping and get us some new DPCI numbers for Target - we need these figures and the Plo Koon starfighter!  ;D

I'll put out the feelers tomorrow...

Hey - does anyone think that this will be the replacement for Unleashed? A 3.75" scaled high-end die-cast figure line. They could still be two-packs (at an even higher price point).

Whatever this line is, it is destined to fail.

You know, that's a good point.  Maybe this is what killed the unleashed line - Hasbro was hesitent to have two $15 price point figure lines at the same time so they killed the Unleashed line in favor of offering these.   :-\

If that's the case, there will be a LOT of Unleashed fans who want to get a hold of the C3 focus group who told Hasbro the die-cast figures were a good idea!    :P

Hey, anyone know why the boots look red on the 501st Clone?

From Jedi ass-kicking?

Paint error on the prototype?

He wore those boots last weekend helping Palpatine stain his deck?

Also, how'd we go from Commander Cody in the reports earlier to Commander Bly - and yet another repaint...

Double Also.... if we're just now getting Obi-Wan's astromech, which astromech was the one in the sneak preview wave?!  I thought that was his...

It must have been a mis-Q between Mike and his reporter who posted Cody at GH earlier today (before the figure was unpacked and displayed).

Double Also:
The Sneak Preview Droid is the one from Obi-Wan's BLUE Utapau Starfighter, this new one is from his RED Opening Battle Starfighter (the one who gets his head ripped off by Buzz Droids).

Well, time for a thread on this one I guess...

$15 each and due next spring 2006, starting with everyone's favorite Boba Fett.

No thanks, I'm not starting a new 3.75" line at this point...  :-X

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Battle Packs (5 figure sets)
« on: July 13, 2005, 11:03 PM »
So, it appears that from the little signs next to the 5-packs at SDCC that most of these rehash sets will now be TRU exclusives...

Good news in that these re-pack monsters won't clog the shelves at Target (where I do most of my shopping  ;)).

At least it sounds like it's a TRU exclusive, so we don't have to worry about it taking up space at Target and Wal-Mart.   :P

Well, they aren't too terrible...

Sure, they are repaints (yet again  ::)), but I kinda like the "lava-y" bases and the darker ashen look of the paint job on them.

I'll probably be happy to buy these... until I find out they cost like $13 again.   ::)
