Revenge of the Sith / Re: "Evolutions" assortment...
« on: September 9, 2005, 03:36 PM »
Lando,

I have 1 Anakin set so I'm looking for multiple Clone sets (obviously), at least 2 Sith sets, and 1 more Anakin set.  Yeah, got my work cut out for me.

Hasbro made great sets with these, and I even like the packaging enough that I'm not tossing it for certain.  It's great.  Then they don't seemingly get them to retail in any quantity at all.  Unbelievable.  I can't imagine they would not push these at least as hard as the VOTC were, but so far they seem just like a real bitch to track down.  I'm workin' on it though out here but retail's dead once again.  WM's are empty and only Target's seemingly stocking much right now.  Go figure.

I'll keep an eye out. I haven't seen any evolution sets for a couple weeks, Anakin or otherwise, but when they show up again (if you haven't found them yourself) I'll grab what I can.

I personally ordered the clone evolution case from EE. Who knows when the **** that's coming in though.

Sure, if he was someone we all knew, then I would probably believe him.

Funny you should say that.

I lost my collection tonight in a tragic curling accident and would like help.

70 VOTC Stormtroopers, and 10 Clone evolutions sets are what I need.  Any help, thanks.

And you need them for free, no doubt?  ;)

Hi, I am an Indian (asian not Native) and I guess SW collecting is sort of frowned apon, And kids are expected to do unusually good in school (a B is considered a bad grade) And now that school has started my Mom expects me to just put away my collection until the summer and miss all the fun!  >:( I for one am pissed off! They don't understand ANYTHING about collecting!

Your parents are right, my friend. Focus on your education, and try what Hemish suggested. Good luck!  :)

Well, my rancor figure keeps eating all adjacent figures, so now its not even third party intrusions onto my display that I need to worry about. At this rate my collection may dwindle to my rancor, snoova (who the rancor has found to be as unappealling as we all do), and a large mound of rancor poodoo.

Listen, this guy was asking for people to send him stuff before his "fire". Sure, if he was someone we all knew, then I would probably believe him. But he's been here for a total of like 6 posts. In that very short time he's asked for freebies, then conveniently suffered a fire in which all his figures were destroyed (but apparently not his computer), and very promtly returned to asking for free figures.

I call shenanigans.

Yeah, I'd rather use this thread to talk about how scummy Brian's Toys is. I feel like the collecting community should just boycott those ****wads.

And since this is at the top I thought I'd reiterate that I have STILL yet to see ANY Evoulution set on the shelves.  Not one.  Not even Anakin who I know hit at KM's here but I never saw.

Killin' me here...  Just killin' me.  All the best stuff is always nye on impossible to find for me.  I gotta get my sets of these and soon or I'm gonna burst a blood vessel.

That's why I preordered the clone evo set from EE with a buddy of mine. I guess its 4 sets in total, so we both get 2. Jesse, so far I'e only seen the anakin set once. Are you still looking for it? I could keep an eye out for it if you're still looking for it.

Sweet! New CHEWIE Photonovel day!!! Its like my birthday or something!

I like the use of the new imperial outpost playset, and seeing Tylin Gere in the officer's uniform. These photonovels just keep getting better and better!

Thanks Valin, but in this case I was just abbreviating TIE Interceptor (TIE/IN).

Count me in for some more wookiees! The only good wookiee warrior we got was the preview one. Though I don't mind Tarrful, even with his lack of knee articulation.

I'm very happy with the way this ship looks. The scale in relation to the fx X-Wing doesn't bother me either. The price however, sucks.

Can anyone remember offhand which kind of TIE escorts Vader's Lamda shuttle at the beginning of ROTJ? Are the TIEs or TIE/in?

Looks like some sort of decapede. My guess is that 10 legs means it can move pretty fast.

That's what I did too, you have to give the DCPI # to an employee though. The number was blocked out on the normal scanners for some reason.

They haven't put out a shelf tag at my stores either.

D'oh! Yeah that's what I meant DCPI not SKU.

Quote
Has anyone actually found these sitting on the shelf yet?  Just looking back over the last few pages of the thread, and I admit many of the purchases don't specify, it looks as if nearly everyone had to use the DPCI to get one or more of these.

My point being is that if Target told Hasbro they wanted an item which would bring people into stores and buy more toys or any other items, and the only people who are getting them are those people who have the equivalent of the Target Super-Secret Handshake, it really doesn't do much for anybody outside of the internets.  Not that I'm complaining about the DPCI (I still owe Jeff and Jared their drinks), but isn't the point of having an exclusive to put it on the shelf and sell it, without making customers jump through red tape?

I think everyone just ends up jumping the gun and requesting the exlcusive before they put it out on the shelves. I'm sure they would have put them out eventually.
