Saga '02-'04 / Re: COULD THIS BE 2004 LINE UP!!!!!
« on: October 19, 2003, 11:44 PM »
The only problem with that list - not that I'm complaining - is the frequency of Lukes.  Those are all figs I want, but Hasbro wouldn't want to put all its Luke eggs in one basket, considering how much longer this line will likely continue.  That we're getting three so early in the year still amazes me.

Yeah, from the sounds of it, the ROTK line ends basically as soon as the film comes out in December, replaced by the Trilogy line, which includes ROTK Series 4.   What will be interesting to see is if TB pushes the ROTK assortments with the FOTR and TTT ones in support, or if stores are going to devote a lot of shelf space they haven't before to a film that's over with.

It sure is.   :o  It does bear out Jesse's point that the license in effect is mostly paid for, and the cost of it has been reduced going forward into the future.

I never believed in that curse until now.  That's all I have to say about it.   :(

Jesse certainly doesn't need anyone to defend him, but I think it's unfair to ask him 'why he collects SW.'  His posts (including the ones above) are among the most thoughtful and reasoned in the SW collecting community, and a big reason why I enjoy JD more the RS nowadays.

I got my red card TTT Boromir from Amazon.com!!!   ;D

He came in the bundle with Gollum, Legolas HD, Theoden in Armor and Sam in Mordor.  I'm so happy, especially since Boromir is one of my favorite characters.  He comes with the a nice shiny new dagger and a new elven cloak.

Sweetness.

They all look pretty good.  And where is Obi Wan's saber?  I'm most excited about him and Bail, along with Padme and the Dignitary.

I also got my Twilight Frodo from KB.   I don't expect to ever see this guy at retail.

That's 13 more than I've seen, Chewie.   :P  I expect (hope) there will be a big drop of these around X-Mas time.

It all sounds great to me.  I hope the Dagobah R2 signals a Dagobah wave with the Luke and Yoda we've all been waiting for.  That would just be too good to be true.  Very pleased with the Bespin wave, but still a little sore about the lack of PT figs.  From the sounds of it, with the possibility of the OT on DVD this time next year, there's a reason.

Naboo Final Battle - Obi, Maul, Qui-Gon?
