I just realized that I'm going to be mid-safari on Sept 13th, so I won't be able to tally results until after I get back.

Meh, that just gives stragglers extra time to vote. :P  Enjoy your safari and don't worry about it.

Yes, thanks, much better these days.

Also glad to hear that you made it through your ordeal, Muftak - wishing for an easy recovery for you.

The Vintage Collection / Re: 4” Epic Hero Series Figure Line

Presenting, Taul Maul.

From a "these are for kids" perspective, I get it, but I still think it was such a weird choice to go with a pure 4" scale figure line.  All of them seem to be taller than their 3.75" scale friends.

I still haven't picked any of these up and more and more it's looking like I never will (the first Han Solo in this line will test me though).

Looks like I pre-ordered from Amazon so I guess I hope these hit there pretty soon now too (Amazon is still showing a November delivery date).

Shop.Disney just pulled all Acolyte merch from their online store.

"all Acolyte merch" was really only some T-shirts and they are back now for the most part.  Seems like it was a temporary thing.

Was BoBF ever supposed to be more than one season?  I haven't heard anything on Ahsoka but I thought they had hoped to do another season.

I think BOBF was a we'll do one season and see what happens (either more TBOBF or just fold him back into TM).  Kenobi I think was always designed as a limited series.  D23 confirmed a second season of Ahsoka is "in development" but based on LFL record lately, I'm not considering that a sure thing until they start actually shooting.

------------------

The ratings numbers are hard to find/confirm, but it is rumored to go something like this -
(views per episode)
TM S2 - 29.9mil
TM S3 - 24.8mil
Kenobi - 19.1mil
TBOBF - 14.9mil
Ahsoka - 13mil
Andor - 9.9mil
Acolyte - 9.3mil

So Andor, which most "fans" seem to say is "the best" D+ show was actually the lowest watched series until The Acolyte came along.  Andor cost $250mil for 12 episodes; Acolyte seems to be about $180mil for 8 episodes.  Seems like they cost about the same to make so I guess it's lucky for us that Andor was scripted/designed from the start as a two-season show or it might not have gotten a Season 2 either.

After the first six you could go back and ideally fill in any "incomplete teams" in later waves.

You could... it just sucks that these days "in later waves" might be like 5 years later.

if they are due in October they are probably being loaded onto the boat now.

According to Jayson, they are already arriving in the US ports.  Takes about 3-4 weeks for Hasbro to get them and then another 3-4 weeks to get out to the retailers for shipping.  Moves faster if the item is exclusive.  (Took the Jabba set about 3 weeks to go from Jayson spotting it on port manifests to shipping from Pulse).

I'm still for a wave of six figures from any new media that ideally is timed to come out within a few months of the show's release.

I go back and forth on this.  One of the major reasons I stopped collecting comic book figures was "incomplete team syndrome" where they do like 80% of a team and move on without completing it.  I HATE when this happens in the Star Wars line too.  Like, don't bother giving me TVC Indara and Yord if I'm not also getting Jecki and Kelnacca and Torbin to fill out the shelf.  My OCD just hates that.

At the same time though, I don't really want them to do nothing for a show either.  It just sucks when they make choices like "we'll do The Stranger later" to save the surprise and then 'later' never comes.  (NOTE TO HASBRO: Still waiting on a 3.75" figure of Dryden Vos, thanks!)

Here's my list.  Quite a bit of overlap with my TOC list from last year but I'm sure if I did this again on a different day, my list would be slightly different.

The BOBF/ROTJ Jabba Palace playset and upcoming HasLab Cantina have altered my list quite a bit as I picked a lot of stuff just to help keep filling out those scenes/shelves...

Atheloe (A New Hope)
Baniss Keeg (A New Hope)
Baze Malbus (Rogue One)
Bodhi Rook (Rogue One)
C-3PO (with Babu Frik & Sith Dagger) (The Rise of Skywalker)
Cliegg Lars (Attack of the Clones)
Dr. Pershing (Season 1, The Mandalorian)
Dryden Vos (Solo)
Fifth Brother Inquisitor (Obi-Wan Kenobi)
Fourth Sister Inquisitor (Obi-Wan Kenobi)
Fozec (Return of the Jedi)
Gailid (Return of the Jedi)
Garouff Lafoe (A New Hope)
Greef Karga (Season 1, The Mandalorian)
Han Solo (Eravana) (The Force Awakens)
Leia Organa (General) (The Force Awakens)
Luthen Rael (Andor)
Marrok (Ahsoka)
Mon Mothma (Andor)
Peli Motto (Season 1, The Mandalorian)
Princess Leia Organa (Obi-Wan Kenobi)
The Client (Season 1, The Mandalorian)
Tzizvvt (A New Hope)
Yerka Mig (A New Hope)
Yotts Oren (Skiff Guard) (Return of the Jedi)

It's weird because I was expecting them to ride this sculpt into the ground with re-issues - with IG-11, Luke, Leia, Paploo, Clone Trooper, etc - I guess Hasbro just made enough for us to be able to cheaply buy extras and pass them around ourselves.

I'm a bit bummed about a cancellation because I would have liked to see where they went with this.  I guess I'm in the minority on that though.

I guess maybe if the show had been set more from Qimir's point of view - showing him recruiting an acolyte, setting her against Jedi and then slowly revealing why she hated these particular jedi (because of a misunderstanding over something that happened on her home planet), slowly revealing Qimir's boss and setting up a S2 where Qimir and his acolyte face off against other Apprentice candidates, etc.

There's a lot of potential there but people get so caught up in the force witches, the twin birth/creation, and all the other things they felt "broke" canon that once again the loud whiney voices drowned out the voice of people who were willing to give it a chance and grow into something.  I guess though when a tv show costs $165million you can't really wait for it to grow into something...

Dragging this one up since a bit of discussion popped up in another thread after that Andor S2 teaser leak at D23 and then the repack K-2SO reveal the other day.

No brainers:
Bix
Luthen Rael - Coruscant
Cinta (Ferrix)
Brasso
Imperial army trooper - black riot control outfit with shield (make it a four pack if you want)
Dedra Meero - ISB white uniform
Syril - Pre-Mor Security Officer
Marva
Mon Mothma

We are 20 months past Dave's post and only ONE of these no brainers is finally in the pipeline for a 2025 release.

Do you guys think the fact that most of these were done in BS6" line and quite a few of them (Bix, Luthen, Mon, etc) still being available on deep discount at Amazon and Pulse are hurting our chances of getting these guys in TVC?

Or do you think the announcement of repack K-2SO and pipeline Dedra are signs that maybe finally we'll get some movement here?

Got my set in the mail, looking forward to opening it up this weekend.  I saw that Jayson started taking some comparison photos and such on the Yakface Twitter.

It's a year later and there are still plenty of these around at low prices.  Either no one cared about this version or Hasbro just made way, way too many.

$26.67 at Amazon -> https://amzn.to/3SPnhpG

$25.91 at Hasbro Pulse -> https://www.hasbropulse.com/product/star-wars-the-vintage-collection-speeder-bike/F68835L00

Does anyone know if the R2 from this set is something new or just a re-used R2 from earlier?

Hard to say.  It is a basic R2-D2 using the Disney BAD parts (no wires on the feet).  I'm not quite sure if it's going to match up to something Disney has released before or not deco wise.

I was watching this review earlier and was a bit surprised at just how huge this thing is compared to the old StarSpeeeder 1000 version.  Watching this video makes me really bummed that I didn't snag one of these as this looks like a very cool and fun toy with the lights and LCD screen ride effects.

Also very cool of Disney to include a loose RX Droid in the package so that you can leave the limited edition carded RX on the card and still have one to pilot your StarSpeeder.

Seeing the double-RX pack-in here makes me think that they could do a second run without the carded Rex.  That would give more people a chance to get this ship but still leave the uber-collectibility of the D23 version with the limited 3000 piece carded RX droid.
