Saga Collection '06 / Re: Battle of Coruscant Wave
« on: May 1, 2006, 04:28 PM »
I saw my first sign of collecting dishonesty (other than scalping) for the first time in 9 years of collecting tonight. Some jackass bought a few Coruscant Obi-Wans opened them, took the robes, and returned the figures without them. >:(

Well, at least its still a really good figure. It would have sucked if he'd stuck a Coruscant Chase Obi-Wan in there.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Jeff For Fan Club President!
« on: May 1, 2006, 04:12 PM »
The real problem is that Jeff has fathered children all over the country and a couple more in Mexico.  For shame.

Well, that's common knowledge.  But none of them were black, were they?

You can have all the kids you want, with as many women as you want, and you're viewed as a super-potent stud (i.e. Mick Jagger).

But--good heavens!--if word gets out that even one of them is black, that's when all hell breaks loose (i.e. Thomas Jefferson, Strom Thurmond, John McCain, Bill Cosby, etc., etc.).

And that was the final nail in the coffin of Jeff's campaign, I'm afraid.

True, but in Strom Thurmond's case, it was pretty ****** up...seeing as he was so adamantly pro-segregation in the past.

One guy she dated for several years was seeing three women at once and he had them unaware of the others.  He was one smooth bastard.

Yes, yes I am.  8)

There are a few things I absolutley wont tolerate, and infidelity is one of those things. But does it really suprise you with the stories you read in magazines, the songs on the radio, and shows on TV like Desperate Housewives and what have you?

It makes it look ok. Sad

Kevin

You know that infidelity has been going on since humans started having relationships, right? The Greek tragedy Agamemnon (458 BC), The Code of Hammurabi (1795-1750 BC), The Ten Commandments (~1300 BC) and many, many more. Its an awful thing to go through, whether you're the cheated-on, or the cheater. You can take some comfort in knowing that you are absolutely not alone in this, but it is a very tangled and ****** up side of human nature.

It really begs the question, is monogamy natural? It does occur in certain animals, but the human animal is far from being strictly monogamous. Instead we seem to force ourselves into it. With self control we are usually able to remain monogamous, but at what point does biology take over?

I have no answers for you man. I wish I did. But I've struggled with this myself on both sides, and I think that main thing is to focus on the good things in your life, even including the times you were happy with your ex-wife. This isn't something that will kill you...it sucks, but you'll live through it and be better for it.

I do recommend going to a psychologist though.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Possible VTSC Wave 2?
« on: April 25, 2006, 03:06 PM »
I can legitimately see issuing two and only two different VOTC or VTSC Darth Vader's.  Careful observers of the Vader costume will note that in ANH Vader wears part of his cloak over his shoulder armor.  In TESB and ROTJ Vader wears that same cloak piece under the shoulder armor.  The version we got in the VOTC line was on a TESB card with Vader in the TESB style costume.  Issuing a newly sculpted VTSC Vader on an ANH card would make much more sense.

I agree. A good ANH Vader is really the only Vader that we're missing. I think there's some differences in the helmet too, but the robes are the biggest difference to me.

You could argue that we still need a ROTS SA Vader, but the VOTC Vader is a fine stand in for that.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Revenge of the Sith - The Jedi

Oh I agree 100% about the need for an all-jedi evo pack. I could see something like this...

* Qui Gon Jinn TPM with all the bells and whistles
* Mace Windu ROTS (******* finally!)
* Ultimate ROTJ Luke Skywalker

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: JD and Yak
« on: April 18, 2006, 01:52 PM »
Yak is an old favorite of mine. Its the first place I actually started posting as well. In fact, that's where I started talking SW with CHEWIE. Even though it doesn't have a forum anymore, I still visit Yak daily, because they're the only site that actually lists when Amazon, KB.com, Walmart.com, etc. have SW figures available.

Does anyone have a gif animation of vader throwing the Emperor down the shaft? Yes, I'm lame.   ;D

Or even a site that has a bunch of star wars animations.

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Splitting a torso in two...
« on: February 3, 2006, 10:11 AM »
I've always found that using an xacto knife to slice the post inside the chest cleanly is more effective because then you can still glue it back together afterward. Just slip the blade in throught the neck hole and apply nice constant even pressure. It will seem like nothing's happening at first, and then it will slice through.

Where the hell do you live that you have a bunch of extra Veers' for customizing??  :o

They look awesome, by the way!  :)
