I don't think I got a single figure from my list last year, so here it is again...

The Phantom Menace

1.  Ben Quadrinaros (Podracer Pilot) w/Power Droid
2.  Mawhonic (Podracer Pilot) w/toolbox & tools
3.  Ratts Tyerell (Podracer Pilot) w/PK-4 Droid
4.  Queen Amidala (Return to Naboo)
5.  Queen Amidala (PreSenate)
6.  Toonbuck Toora (Galactic Senator)
7.  Tey How (Neimoidian Controller)
8.  Super-Articulated Qui-Gon Jinn (Jedi Master) w/Saber, Hilt, Commlink, Poncho
9.  Super-Articulated Obi-Wan Kenobi (Jedi Knight) w/Saber, Hilt, Commlink
10. Kitster & Wald 2-pack

I guess Qui-Gon is rumored, but I'm leaving him on my list because I don't want to have to dig up another TPM character...   :P

What sculpt is that R2?

If it's the same sculpt as the one in the catalog photo, it's the VOTC sculpt:

[snip]
Wouldn't surprise me if it was the R4-G9 sculpt, though--that'd be twice now that they've done an Artoo in that sculpt, but then ruined it with a goofy-ass paintjob.

I haven't seen anyone else confirm this, so I thought I would...

I picked up the Wave 2 Comic Packs today and Marvel R2-D2 is indeed the R4-G9 sculpt, complete with head-turning/leg-lifting feature.   :-X

Sure hope BBTS comes through.

I'm still trying to figure the BBTS thing out.  I have so many questions about it...

If Japan retail was around $51 and then they have to pay to ship them to the USA from Japan, how are they making any money at $60?

It doesn't make sense for them to sell them at basically their cost like that.  There is no way that they could have ordered them directly through Medicom any cheaper, that is something that has never happened before and it would be a huge violation of Medicom's agreement with LFL if Medicom sold to a USA merchant directly...

I just don't get it I guess.   :-\

Crazy Canadians.

Though, it is awesome that your country has time to waste arguing about who should be Captain of your team...  :P

In other news, man the Ducks look good, they rolled over Vancouver same way they worked us.   :-\  Should be interesting to see whether the Red Wings can get past the Sharks... either way, the Ducks are going to get about a week's worth of rest and that can't be good for either San Jose or Detroit.

Hey Hasbro! / Re: Questions for Hasbro?

Is there any chance you could make the landspeeder that was in the Lars garage in ANH

The Lars Family Landspeeder question popped up in March-07...

For the SW 30 year Anniversary, any thoughts of making more cut-scene figures like the Biggs, such as Fixer, Cammie or Tank? What about small scale vehicles to go along with these, such as Fixer's or the Lars landspeeder? (JTA, 3/30/07)

There won't be any more cut scene figures in the 30th line, but we are considering these for future (post-30th) possibilities and weighing them against other EU-type concepts we see as important in doing. There is a probably a good chance (it may take a few years though) that all of the characters you mentioned will make it to the shelves. However, it's unlikely that we'll ever do the Lars landspeeder given the complexity and tooling required for vehicles and the relatively unknown status of that one compared with other vehicle possibilities.

It was at 10K for production but I'm guessing the Con exclusives are at least double that.

Well, here is what I was told at Celebration 3 when we asked about it...

500 Pallets = 10,000 cases = 120,000 Vaders (give or take a few).

So that was 120,000 C3 Vaders... and that does not count what they left behind to to sell on-line after the show.

Most of the numbers I heard being tossed around were between 145,000-160,000 for final production numbers.

But what qualifies it as a valid report?

The report was first posted in the forums at toynewsi (which is what Ook pointed out in his post).

That post is where JediInsider (part of the toynewsi group) got the info for their news story (which is what Artoo copied earlier in this thread).

What makes the story legit enough for JediInsider to post was the fact that Whitewolf is a frequent contributor over there.  It's kind of like when JediMAC posts his "hey everyone, I found this in SoCal" news posts on our front page.  He never has pictures or reciepts, but we all believe him because he's JediMAC, a regular contributor over here.  We tend to believe him because we know him and trust his word.

It seems like the same thing for Whitewolf over there.  He is one of their toy reviewers, so they trust him.  I don't think they would have posted it if they didn't think it was true... but whether it is true everywhere or not remains to be seen.  We all know how regional this stuff is and how strange things can happen (like when the VTSC figures hit a Kansas store months before they hit anywhere else).

They (JediInsider) claim he's going to review the figures in the next few days, so if it's true there will be pics soon enough...

she says that once something gets marked down to $0 that it gets donated to Goodwill.  First I'd ever heard this.  Has anybody else heard of this or was she just saying that so she didn't have look it up or whatever?

When things ring up at $0.00, they should be able to look up the last "good" clearance price (usually 15% of the regular price) and sell it to you at that price, but it is true that Target will dump stuff at Goodwill (or similar charity outlets) if there is anything left a few weeks after it hits "final clearance" (usually 75% off).

It is a standard Target practice (or at least it happens quite often here in MN).  That is why sometimes even though a Target that has tons of something on clearance, they all suddenly diappear at times.

Supposedly the droids will not be offered at all though.

I would expect to hear nothing else.

Yeah, I agree.  Last time, the timeline went like this...

April 21st - Celebration 3, Day 1
April 23nd - GenCon/LFL finally confirm that Vader (and some other C3 exclusive loot) will be available on-line after the show
April 25th - Vader shows up on SWShop.com

Obviously, I think (like others have said) that they probably aren't going to announce anything in hopes that some folks (like SoCal locals) panic and go to the show... but I still think they will show up on-line afterwards.   ;)

January = $53.91
February = $108.14
March = $195.78

April = $186.39  :(

Year to Date Total = $549.87

Stuff I bought the past month:
30AC Capture of Tantive IV Battle Pack (1 opener)
30AC Jedi Training on Dagobah Battle Pack (1 opener)
Target Exclusive 30AC Betrayal on Felucia Battle Pack (1 opener)
Wal-Mart Exclusive 30AC Treachery on Saleucami Battle Pack (1 opener)
30AC Star Wars Galactic Hereos 2-Packs (4 openers)
400% Kubrick Shadow Stormtrooper (1 opener)
DC Mini-Mates Green Lantern/Star Sapphire 2-Pack (1 opener)

Another month over the $125 budget.   :-\

While I struck out on the 30AC basic figures this past month, I did manage to grab a pile of clearance price Battle Packs along with the Wal-Mart Saleucami set.  The real star of the month was the 400% Kubrick figure, which accounted for just a bit over half of the month's spendings.  Damn my Kubrick addiction...  ::)

Drive has already been cancled. :(

Drive?  Cancelled?  Now I'll never know how the secret, illegal, cross-country road race turns out...  :(

Did I mention it was about a secret, illegal, cross country road race?  Because they sure as heck mentioned it in the show... we counted 11 different times where a character said "secret, illegal, cross country road race" in the 45 minutes of the last episode I watched.   :P

I'll wait and see on Luke.  The big thing for me is whether that vest comes off.  If not, then we might have some issues.

Like Anton said, Hasbro was asked at Toy Fair and they said there that the vest is not intended to be removed.  Here is the quote from Paul in the Toy Fair thread:

Guys I think somebody was asking Depriest about the "Robe" portion of Jedi Luke's outfit.  He said it was not intended to be removable.  I have a shot on my camera of him messing with it, but it is not really clear.
