I had some fun with this today! Built a nice set of four droids at Tatooine Traders. It was locked down just as Pete described, but luckily my wait was only about 5-10 minutes. I built those suckers in no time though! The "attendant" actually came in pretty handy as I had to keep bugging her for spare parts I couldn't find in the bins on my side. There was only one part I could tell for sure they were out of  - a random green left leg. Weird.

My daughters enjoyed building their own light sabers too...Windu purple with Dooku hilts. I found it odd they had Maris Brood's saber hilt as a selection though. Just struck me as oddly random.

You guys make some good points to be sure, but I think the up front commitment they have shown for the show already is a pretty good indicator of what we can expect going forward. Those three big ships were legitimate class II efforts, not like those horribly out of scale things they were trawling out earlier. That's at least as much tooling, etc if not more than the Ghost would require, so it's not that big a jump, IMO.

The whole timeline thing just seems to me like it old be more conducive to getting this out than anything from ep. 7, at least for this year and next. They have known about the Ghost for awhile now, have all the specs, finalized art, dimensions, etc. Have they even started shooting ep 7 yet? JJ is notoriously secretive with his projects, I wonder how much he would let out of the bag at this stage simply for merchandising considerations. Maybe there is no iconic big ship from the next film?

Plus who knows if that thing even comes out on time...I still think it gets pushed back to the following spring. Gotta fill that lull somehow!

I saw the saga legends 5 poa figures at the gift shop outside Star Tours for $10.95 today! So yeah, there are some pretty wild fluctuations out there.

All the "why are there no lady Rebels action figures" folks can relax - via Newsarama, Hasbro confirms Hera, Sabine figures coming; will be debuted at SDCC.

That would be me...and thanks! Now I can sleep in peace!  ;D

Yep, next to The Residents they were my favorite cult/niche/nerd/Subgenius band. Hail to the weird!

Yeah, Zeb looks pretty cool, I dig the voice. Not feeling it for Ezra though, I'm tired of street smart punk kids.

I'm not averse to paying a lot out of pocket up front for a big vehicle if it's something that's part of my focus. (The only exception being the Republic Attack Shuttle which is literally the only Clone Wars I didn't buy immediately upon sight, I did get two eventually though) I know there is a tendency to wait things out sometimes and I get that, $$$ are tight nowadays, but I do think they could crank this thing out under the $100 range and still do it justice.

I also don't begrudge them for playing it safe out of the gate, but I think if the show gets a warm reception this thing has a good shot at a holiday release, which would mean it's already in development. Fingers crossed!

Picked up Zombie Merle and the Charred Walker to complete my Series 5 scores.  ;D

I was surprised to find these at TRU on an off-truck today, wondering if someone had stashed them or what.

I love both figures, they used a cool translucent orange plastic for the charred walker that gives him an eerie gooey appearance. Merle has one atrocious looking elbow joint on the his non-bayonet hand though, yikes.

Can someone explain why the younger girl's shoe was at the scene of the walker attack when Daryl got there, but she was still wearing them as they walked down the train tracks?

Thanks, I was wondering that too and never could figure it out.

RE: the bus - maybe it just ran out of gas? Esp if the bullets hit the gas tank...just thinking out loud.

I figured Glenn had just passed out from exertion back at the prison, he is still in pretty rough shape getting over that virus.

I disagree, I think The Ghost is an absolute no-brainer for late 2014/2015, especially if the show takes off. It's the iconic ship of the whole series and an interesting enough sculpt to appeal to kids and collectors alike. That one has to be in the works...

Ah there's your problem.  The Wii is not an HD machine.

Rats, turns out you are exactly right...I had no idea.

Plan B I guess!

Star Wars Rebels / Re: Star Wars: Rebels - Class II Vehicles

The thing is, if they give us the vehicles, we're going to need the pilots to drive 'em.  :)

Especially for that more generic TIE that is sure to come one day...

Agreed, it was a great episode. Wonder if going forward they will rotate through the various characters in each episode or feature them in mini-arcs.

Cripes, those poor rabbits! I couldn't tell what I was looking at when they first zoomed past the hollow log (dang non-HD) but it was pretty clear later...eesh.

I still don't think Lizzie offed Karen and the other guy, it seems to be more of a steadily escalating thing with her, but she is definitely the rat-feeder and dissectionist. Creepy kid, she was really giving off a last-episode-of-MASH vibe with Judith there in the woods. Eesh.

Was surprised to see Tara's story was not over yet, but I kinda liked her self-deprecating attitude. Not sure if I see why Glenn actually needs her, unless as walker bait, but I don't mind seeing her story continue. (Did they ever show her sister getting offed? I don't recall that)

As far as "Terminus" - mmm, after Woodbury they might want to be a little leery about greener pastures, but I guess they don't have much else of a plan. Shouldn't they have had some kind of designated regroup site if they all got separated? Good luck with that.

At long last though...Abraham! Came off like a bit of a heavy there but I'm looking forward to more next week for sure.

The Black Series 3.75" / Re: Toy Fair 2014
« on: February 17, 2014, 07:44 PM »
I think, in this context, when Hasbro says "EU" they mean the books, comics, etc - not the Clone Wars. We're getting Rex finally and the 2 new clones in the BS so it seems like they will continue to mine that property, thankfully.

But yeah, the price on some of those older figures (Revan, Malak, etc) is going to skyrocket even moreso.

Overall, I have to say - great Toyfair. My expectations were very minimal so I was happy to be overwhelmed. All the Rebels stuff looked great, the confirmation of the 3 TCW characters upcoming, the 6" reveals were all amazing.

Thanks for all the great photos Jeff, terrific job on the coverage and super fast posting of all the galleries!

My head literally exploded today over the news about Beorn, The Bard, and Smaug! The fact that they showed off the dwarves again still gives me hope they will find a way to get them out.

My excitement for this line has been re-stoked!
