You know, I'm beginning to wonder if we're actually going to get the clean black one...

I was just thinking of that too... seems like he got skipped, as he was supposed to appear before the Clean, White Pauldron version even.

I wonder if he got dropped or something?   ???

But I thought there was at least 1 wave of AOTC in the mix for next year.

Maybe, but Hasbro said in the Q&A last week that "Episodes III-VI will each have waves along with a The Force Unleashed wave and a couple other surprises in there".  No mention of AotC.

But with Hasbro's logic like Jabba's wave this year that included figs from the Cantina is it really a ROTJ wave?  I don't know.

During the summer conventions, Hasbro mentioned that the reason you saw some "wave shift" this year was due to factory costs/issues.  The Cantina Figures were originally supposed to be in the Tatooine/ANH wave, and Hermi and 3PO were supposed to be in the Jabba's wave, but the factory cost/issues caused those figures to get bumped back a wave.

The same thing happened in 2006 when part of the Endor wave was pushed back into the TPM wave, and the same thing is entirely possible in 2008 as well...  and if you believe the rumors, it's already happened with the creation of the Panning Droid figure set bumping a figure from the RotS wave into another wave where it doesn't technically belong.

So I'd speculate that the first  5 waves are "Classic" or TAC or whatever they want to call it.
Followed by ONE wave of TFU figs (which makes sense as that's all we've seen to this point).

The only problem with your logic there is that we already know that TFU is slotted for Wave 2 in 2008.

I think when Hasbro said "a couple other surprises in there" they were meaning another EU based wave, like we got this year.  I could see it shaking out like this -

Wave 1 - RotS
Wave 2 - TFU
Wave 3 - ANH
Wave 4 - RotJ
Wave 5 - EU
Wave 6 - ESB

That's pretty much how it worked out in 2007, right down to the fact that 2007 Wave 2 (the Yavin IV stuff) was also a wave that was pushed back (from TSC in 2006) just like the TFU stuff this year.  ;)

Then, you fill Wave 7/8 with the switch over to Clone Wars cartoon...

Hasbro has said all along that they most likey wouldn't get here until 2008.

From the SDCC slides:  "we will continue with new in 2008"

And then from the Q&A:

Will we ever see a re-release of the Toys R Us exclusive Anakin and Obi-Wan Jedi Starfighters with the blue & green color schemes? (JI, 07/20/07)

Yes, our plan is to bring this into the 85196 Starfighter Vehicle Assortment, for a national release, early in 2008.

I think it was just wishful thinking that they would slip out early... and that may still happen depending on how fast things sell at Christmas.  ;)

It sounds like the 2004 "Vintage" R2-D2...

The EBK R2 used this mold, but had the panel glued in place.

Yeah, the gang on Baseball Tonight ripped A-Rod pretty good for making his announcement then of all days and trying to steal some of the spotlight.  Peter Gammons pointed out that it's a pretty good indicator of what you can expect from A-Rod if you sign him - A-Rod first, team second.   :P

I'd love to see Mikey Lowell come back for a few more years, but you know his price tag just went through the roof with the season and post season he just had.

Yeah, that WS MVP trophy is a pretty good way to send yourself into free agency.  I'm sure he'll have plenty of offers on the table.  It would be nice to see Boston keep him, but I guess I won't be surprised to see him go and maybe end up as A-Rod's replacement at 3rd in NY.  :-X

Looks like that 8-day layoff killed the Rockies' momentum, while the ass-whooping of Cleveland restored the Red Sox confidence.

Congrats to the Sox and their fans (except Mikey and the rest of his pink hats), my condolences to the Rockies fans.   :'(

ps.
Did I hear right - during the broadcast, it sounded like they were saying that Boras said that A-Rod is opting out of his contract.   ???

I know I am not in your league, but I am in a Yahoo league...

I believe that you are allowed to drop bench players at any time during a week, even if the games have already been started/played.  I don't think you can add/drop any of your starters until Monday/Tuesday though...  or something like that.

Who here has read the "His Dark Materials" series (Golden Compass being book 1 of 3)

The Mrs. just finished Golden Compass (which she really liked) and has handed it off to me... I'm only a few chapters in, but I'm liking it so far.  :)

The latest Hasbro QnA has been posted.

- What's the deal with that Lava Droid/Platform? *
- Which EU Spacetrooper in 2008?
- Can we get more pack-In figures on basic cards?

* Yes, #1 is kind of old news at this point.  Unfortunately, we submitted the question last Friday morning not knowing that Hasbro would be showing off the 2008 carded figures at the Dallas show...  :-\

my Wave 7 set is in my "pile of loot" and ready to ship from BBTS.

 :o

I would guess that EE and NewForce won't be far behind then... crazy!  Many folks around here haven't seen Wave 5 still and wave 7 could be just around the corner.

We get the Eagles/Vikings game, where I live.

Watch for me... I'll be sure to bring my big "I VIREX" sign.

It has "I OCB" on the other side.  :)

I'd guess closer to Christmas, or worse, for the guards.

Or maybe the first week of November...  from the GG Blog:

The following items are currently enroute and will be landing within a week.  We should be shipping them out to retailers/distributors shortly thereafter.

Star Wars
Royal Guard/Senate Guard mini bust

Kubricks / Re: Kubrick Newbies - Questions and Advice
« on: October 25, 2007, 11:48 AM »
What about the 1:48 (1:96) chases?  Are those in the same box of 12 as the 2:48 chases or a separate box or random?

There has never been a reliable, confirmed box of 12 that contained all of the chase figures.  In every series of Star Wars Kubricks so far, it has worked out like this:

Each Master Case of 48 figures contains 4 boxes of 12:
 - 1 box of 12 contains one of the "high-ratio" chase figures from that series (1:48 or 1:96)
 - 1 box of 12 contains the "low-ratio" chase figure from that series (2:48, 3:48, or 4:48)
 - 2 boxes of 12 contain no chase figures  :(

Now, there is no guarantee the trend will continue, but basically, you have a 50/50 chance of your box containing any chase figures.  And if it is a chase figure box, you have a 50/50 chance of it being the "rare" chase box or the "common" chase box.
