Rogue One / The Playset Thread

And I think you need to factor in a royalty to Hasbro.

Yeah, you definitely have to take that into account.  Hasbro is not letting Sideshow make these things out of the kindness in their hearts, they are still in it to make money.  I heard from a reliable source at one point that Hasbro actually makes about $3 for each $60 12" Star Wars figure that Sideshow sells because of their deal.

Actually, it doesn't look like that list has been updated since December '06.   :-\

I guess someone (either Jesse or I) will have to update it with the latest 2007 announcements/releases sometime soon for you guys...

Here are my submissions for consideration for the next Q&A:

Please remember to post your questions for Hasbro in this thread.  If they do not get posted in there, they may get lost in the discussion in here...   I try to catch them when they pop up like this, but I don't always find every one posted outside that thread.  :-\

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: What is wrong with Target?
« on: October 2, 2007, 05:57 PM »
If they were ahead of the game like Walmart has been lately, then people would be praising them right now and blasting Walmart.  This goes in cycles.

Definitely.  And it varies greatly across the USA too.   Here in MN, our Targets (and TRUs) are getting Wave 4 and the UGH cases, while Wal-Mart is getting Wave 5.  Maybe WM is one wave ahead at the moment, but definitely not three, and it won't last for long with Christmas shopping approaching.

I personally don't understand why you guys are all pissed about this.

We're all pissed because you got what you wanted.  Plus, we hate you. >:(

With posts like these you PROVE my point, and yet you miss it entirely.

Well then, forgive me for offering an opinion that was not the same as yours...  ::)

I must be really, really easy to please... or maybe I just expect a lot less from a $7 toy?

Either way, I will buy the Torture Rack Han and be happy with it.   :)

The latest Hasbro QnA has been posted.

- "no comment" on any recall-related price increases in 2008
- future TIE upgrades?
- More Wookiees in 2008?

So, shouldn't we be hearing the results of this before too long?

How about now?   :D

1. Shadow Stormtrooper
2. Commander Neyo
3. Covert Ops Clone Trooper
4. Utapau Shadow Trooper
5. Zev Senesca

Very disappointed in the results...  4 more clones/troopers?  Yuck.

I'm happy with my team.. though that could fall apart quickly if I get off to a slow start like last year...

I've got three quality guys on IR for 3-4 more weeks and two more guys who are not playing (or getting way less minutes than usual) due to minor injuries (groin, calf strains).   :'(

I really don't want to see 3-4 of my starters go down to injury again, that was way not cool.    >:(

I'd love to see how much room this thing takes up in a normal house.

Maybe we will have to take a trip to WussBoy's house to see his once he's done putting his together...

Who buys from him?

#1 - Impatient people who absolutely, positively need it now.  BT sometimes gets stuff in early because they pay air freight to have it first.  Some folks have money to burn and apparently don't care about price.

#2 - People who don't know any better.  Like you say, they sponsor a number of sites, they have ads in the SW Insider and other big toy magazines.  I'm sure a lot of people who go there have never heard of NewForce or D&S or the many other littler shops out there.  Their fault for not shopping around I guess.

#3 - Vintage collectors who don't trust eBay.  I've heard a number of folks say they prefer BT because it's "safer" than eBay.  Not sure what it means or if it's true, just what I've heard.

Since they are not officially up for pre-order, I have no firm prices yet.  The final price will depend on a number of things - wholesale price, shipping from Japan, currency exchange rate, fees, etc.

If the prices hold similar to the past series, sets of 6 should run around $48 ($45-50) and a box of 12 should run around $83 ($80-85) plus shipping.

So what was the final word on this from anyone who may have opened their set up?  Did they connect, or not?  Seems we've got several people suggesting both sides to that debate in here...

Yep, they connect.  Courtesy of Jayson and Yakface:
