Congrats to the Gophers for a gret year...

Sure, they didn't beat ND, but they made it to the Frozen Four again this year, a great accomplishment.

And props to Denver too, dang they kicked CC's ass.  Five power play goals on ?  :o

It's going to be tough for ND to beat them...

Revenge of the Sith / TRU Holo Anakin?
« on: April 7, 2005, 11:23 PM »
Still a Rumor at this point, but the little birdies are singing...

Sounds like there will be a Holographic Anakin of some sort at TRU this summer/fall.  I imagine it will be a lot like Yoda where you buy something and get it for free or just buy it at Amazon.

Now the question is will it be a Holo Anakin from Ep3 (from a certain naming ceremony  ;)) or will it be more of a Spirit of Anakin from RotJ DVD?

Anyone else heard this through the rumor mill?  :-\

Why not go for a new Spirit of Anakin or Yoda figure instead :-\

Rumors have popped up that TRU will have a Holo/Spirit Anakin of some sort this summer or fall...

The Holographic craze continues... first The Emperor, then Yoda, now Princess Leia?

According to the Official Site Holographic Princess Leia is this year's Comic Con Exclusive figure!

Though will not be offering items to purchase at Celebration III, fans will get to preview some of items featured or soon to be available at the site:
- Hasbro Holographic Leia Prototype (Comic-Con 2005 Figure) ( exclusive)

Look for Leia to show up at after the convention season is over.

Can I send both forms and UPC codes together in the same envelope with one receipt, or am I screwed?

Well, it looks like we have Hasbro's Answer:

I purchased more than one Star Wars Early Bird Kit on one receipt.  Can I use one receipt to send away for multiple kits?

Yes, you can send in for multiple kits together using one receipt as long as each kit you are sending away for is listed on that receipt. Also be sure to send in each original UPC code and certificate per kit.

Sounds like you should be OK putting both your redemption forms in one envelope...

Other Collectibles / Re: Are ROTS cards out yet?

I saw some CCG stuff at wallys, but are the Topps movie cards out?

I saw these today at Target in the front section by the registers with the other Topps cards (MLB, NFL, NBA, etc).

I had a revelation today.  The Luke figure should come with two right arms - one normal, and one with the telescoping lightsaber feature.

That'd be a reall cool way to do it.   :)

That would be a great idea at letting the basic figure have a vintage nod, but letting you have a different arm if you want it!

Now let's hope that someone at Hasbro had the same idea...  ;)

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: How big is your army?
« on: April 7, 2005, 04:13 PM »
Man, my Army Buildig habits have been cut waaaay back for Ep3.

Here's what I've grabbed more than 1 of (so far):

2x #6 Clone Trooper
2x #23 Royal Guard (Blue)
2x #23 Royal Guard (Red)
3x #34 Clone Pilot

And here's my Army Building plan for the rest:

2x #38 AT-TE Gunner
4x #41 Clone Trooper
2x #54 Turbo Tank Driver

For now, I'm gonna buy just 1 of each of the Clone Commanders (#33 and #49), but I'd pick up more if they have color variants.  Same for the Clones, I'll only grab 4x #41 unless they do some color variants.  I really like the AT-TE Gunner, but I can't see myself grabbing more than 2 of the specialized troopers like him and the Turbo Tank Driver.

I'm also passing on any extra droids (Battle, Super Battle, Droideka, Grev Guard, etc).  Maybe during the clearance sale I'd pick up a few more droids, but for now I'm happy with 1x each of them.

When it comes to movies, I always favored "Sixteen Candles" over "Pretty in Pink".

Long Duk Dong was the bomb - "No more yankie my wankie. The Donger need food."

But on the other hand, when it comes to songs I have always preferred "Pretty in Pink" by The Psychedelic Furs over any version of the song "16 Candles".

Revenge of the Sith / Re: ROTS variation/error thread
« on: April 7, 2005, 02:12 PM »
So, what is the deal with the #35 Palpatine sabers?

Some people are saying it is intentional because at some point Palpatine has Anakin's saber in RotS.

Other people are saying it's an error because the figure was based on early filming stuff but the error is now fixed with the red saber figure.

The rest of the people, like me, are trying to figure it out.  :(

Do I need one of these Blue Saber Palpatines or not?  If it's a variation/error, I can pass on it because I want the movie accurate Red Saber one to open.  But, then again, if this Palpatine w/Anakin's saber deal pans out and is in the movie, then I'm going to want one....  ::)

Revenge of the Sith / Re: RotS - Deluxe Figures
« on: April 7, 2005, 12:05 PM »
Who knows though - maybe the Crab Droid will be bigger and not a $10 toy.

The reason I say that is because the BARC Speeder is a $15 toy, and not considered a deluxe.  Maybe Stass Allie will be a $15 toy also, giving hope that the Crab Droid will be in the $20-$30 range.

Chewie, these 4 are confirmed to be Wave 3 of the Deluxe Figures...

e-tailers are already taking pre-orders for the cases with early case pack reports saying:

2x Clone Troopers
1x Crab Droid (w/Walking Action, like the CW Spider Droid)
2x Stass Allie w/Speederbike (BARC bike)
1x NEW Spider Droid

They should be out at the $9.99 price point like the other DLX figures.

Of course, there could be a larger version coming that we don't know about.

but I wish these were out now... I wonder just how big the Crab Droid will be.

I don't think it will be that big, it's only a $10 figure so it will probably be around the size of the CW Spider Droid I'm guessing...

I like the fact that Stass Allie comes with the BARC bike.  When we heard about this wave last week, that was the only question I had.  I'm glad it's the BARC bike because I have waaaay more than enough OT Speederbikes already.   ;)

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Holo Yoda?
« on: April 6, 2005, 09:51 PM »
Got mine from Amazon as well, both arrived in excellent condition...

I actually opened one of mine to join the loose collection.  It appears the Yoda is the Saga Yoda from the Yoda w/Padawan 2-pack.

The best part is he is just like the Saga Padawan Yoda - no peg holes in his feet, so much for using the peg that is on the holo "jungle" base!  :P

Pretty cool figure, looks pretty good mixed in with the Jedi council - too bad there was no holo cane that came with him.   :(
