Huh?

Uh....

Hmrph.

I don't know what to say... thanks to a TRU snafu that delayed the Clone Trooper til this spring, we could end up with THREE of these lame Silver figures this year (Clone, Sandtrooper, Vader).    >:(

I'd bet too that he'll be a TRU exclusive just like most of the others since the bubble sticker looks like all the other TRU ones.  Of course, because I have no power to resist, I'll end up with one of these Silver Vaders, but Arg!  Enough already!

I need Luke too... and have plenty of Leia cups to spare.

Maybe we could work out a Leia for Luke cup set swap?

Looks like the ORIGINAL PotF2 Emperor cast as a hologram.

At least it's not the holo-sidious version from Ep1 like I thought  :-[

I'll probably end up getting this one if I can find a Hyperspace stoolie to order me one...

OTC Holo Emperor

"StarWarsShop.com Exclusive: First Holographic Emperor Figure
July 14, 2004

"The Emperor commands you make contact with him." - Admiral Piett
An essential character from Hasbro's Original Trilogy Collection will be available exclusively through StarWarsShop.com. The mastermind of the dark plot that consumes the galaxy, Emperor Palpatine is presented as seen in Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back as an action figure for the very first time.

The ghastly visage of the twisted Emperor peers from beneath his heavy cowl as he contacts Darth Vader via hologram to inform him of a new threat. The Rebel that destroyed the Death Star is none other than the offspring of Anakin Skywalker. From this fateful communiqué, the Sith Lords concoct a new insidious scheme - they will corrupt Luke, and bring him to the dark side.

This new rendition of Emperor Palpatine is now cast in translucent plastic to simulate the ghostly hologram effect. Though only the upper body of the Emperor is seen during this broadcast, the entire figure has been molded, complete with a removable cane accessory to properly depict the character made famous by Ian McDiarmid.

The figure comes in Original Trilogy Collection packaging, with the black and silver Star Wars logo rendered in a style reminiscent of the original Kenner figures. The Emperor: Executor Transmission will be available worldwide only through StarWarsShop.com.

The figure is expected to ship in October 2004, in celebration of the Star Wars Trilogy DVD. However, as a special benefit to members of Hyperspace: The Official Star Wars Fan Club, the figure will be made first available for pre-order to members only starting in August. Quantities of the figure will be limited, so you'll want to sign-up today to be ready to reserve yours and enjoy access to other exclusive StarWarsShop.com offers, exclusive online content, six issues of Star Wars Insider magazine, and more."

Well,

I got a change to open these up...
and I think they match up pretty well with the older sets.

Vader is pretty much the same as the first, but the rest are all different.  I took a quick pic with my old Falcon Chewie and 3PO.

I like the third leg on R2, but it makes him a bit smaller than the first R2-D2.

What do you guys think of the whole Boozer thing

The occasional bottle of Canada's finest doesn't make you a boozer...
OH.  You meant Carlos Boozer.

Uh, if he really did have a deal with the Cav worked out and then balked for more cash, that's kinda cheap.  But, if there was no agreement with the Cavs (as he seems to indicate) then it's too bad for Cleveland I guess.

Paxton probably deserves a little heat though for not getting things done BEFORE he got out into the open market...

Oooh...

And it looks like the Clippers Cleared Cap Room to prepare for the big run at Kobe.

So much for the "LEastern" Conference jokes I guess.  Detroit and Miami will both have some big-gun power next year...

What happens when Shaq-Fu is in Miami, Kobe's with the Clippers, Malone retires, and Payton balks on his contract to retire as well... think Rudy T can make it with Fox/Walton/Odom/Butler/Grant?   :D

Found the first 3 sets of the ANH wave:

Leia/Han - Bespin Han is great, as is lil Leia.  Very nice set.

Ben/Vader - Vader is great!  I love his stylized look of evil.  Hooded Ben looks cool too!

Luke/R2 - R2 seems a bit small for what you get, but I imagine the larger size of Vader and Chewie meant that something had to give.  Luke is pretty cool too.

Can't wait to get home from work and mingle them in with the rest of my GH to see how they look...

Found my first batch of vOTC today at lunch and gobbled them up!

Han - Simply Amazing.  These cards are sooooooo sweet once holding them in my hands.  I thin kI am starting to fall into the "crazy" catergory, thinking I now need 3 sets  :P

Ben - his hands!  No one has mentioned how his HANDS are sculpted to look "old"!  His hands look like my grandpa's hands!  Such attention to detail is CRAZY.  I love him, but he looks a bit silly without the cloak on.

Leia - Best Leia yet IMHO.  Great sculpt, 1000 times better than 95 "Monkey-Face" Leia.  Very cool figure!

No sign of Luke yet though...

So happy to be holding these in my hands that I could  :'(

So far, from the cases I pre-ordered, in addition to the new figs (Dagobah and Bespin), I've nabbed a Han, Chewie, R2, and 3PO on OTC cards to keep.

The rest of the re-card stuff from my cases is being sold off to local friends and/or anyone else who might be interested in buying my extra OTC figures.  (another shameless plug) :)

I purchased the following so far:
OTC Wave 7 (NewForce)
OTC Wave 8 (EE)
OTC Wave 10 (EE)

And I've got the following Pre-Ordered:
vOTC wave 2.5 (x2 at EE)
vOTC wave 3 (x1 at EE)

I, too, am selling my extra OTC figures, the left-overs from my case purchases.  (shameless plug) :)

Haven't found anything OTC/vOTC at retail yet though...
