Saw Bridesmaids over the weekend with the wife. Not bad, probably the closest I will come to an actual "chick flick".

To me the funniest thing was just seeing the dude from the Tim & Eric Awesome show in a big time movie. Spaghet!

I checked FYE too and not only did they have no Star Wars toys whatsoever, the guy who worked there had never even heard of FYE selling SW stuff, and could not explain why stores in one state would have a completely different inventory than stores in another state.

Weird.

Our TRU gets their truck tomorrow but I am stuck in ATL still and will be unable to be there when they open, which pretty much means no new figures this week either.

I am coming up empty at Targets too.

Picked up the:
Attack Shuttle (It's here, an eBayer seller who I dealt with several times in IN had 7 in hand. I got the last one!)
Han Bespin x2
Sandtrooper x16 (Upgrading my Stormtrooper army retiring the Tantive version)

Any more details on the Attack Shuttle? Does "It's here" mean that it is actually available now in for-real stores?  :D

How did he happen to score 7 of them? Did you pay cost?

Nice score!

You know, it looks to me like they did not reduce the packaging on this line despite shrinking it by one figure. That's an obscene waste of space for a couple of battlecards and figure stands.

Way to stick it to the environment, Hasbro!

These 2 new BP's seem like a real disappointment, but not surprising.

Saw the newest wave of Legends at Target today while out hunting TVC Wave 7. Meh.

In my best Professor Farnsworth imitation: "Good news, everybody!"

A fellow SW collector here in Richmond VA just called me to tell me he found all of TVC Wave 7 at a TARGET!!!

Yes, a TARGET store actually got in new figures!

To me, this is incredibly momentous news, because to my knowledge this is the FIRST confirmed non-TRU brick and mortar sighting anywhere in the US!

It's especially great because there are a lot more Targets around town than TRU's, and they get new stock in nearly EVERY day. LOTS of opportunity (and peg space) to find these over the next few days I am thinking.

We haven't had Wave 7 hit around here at all yet either. Shoot, enough talking, I'm going out to look for toys!

Good hunting!

Yeah Mike, good point...I have to admit, I'd buy any OT stuff done in an animated style in a heartbeat! I love some of those maquettes they have done like this, they translate awesome I think.

I'm not sure why LFL might oppose that, but I guess it wouldn't surprise me.

And right now there's no cancellation of animated...  Though I could see them folding the lines together.  I think Hasbro's partially seen the "competition" between the realistic and animated at this point, and that forcing kids in one direction may be healthier for the line overall.

Healthier for which line though? Sounds to me like that only help boost the lagging realistic sales. The animated stuff sells fine already, I don't think that line needs to be folded into anything. If it ain't broke don't fix it, kind of a thought here.

If they fold anything it should be TVC and Legends. If there is competition on the pegs it is worse between those two, what with all their overlap of Clone Troopers, Obis, Anis, etc.

And they sure as hell better not make Admiral Trench in a realistic style before they do his proper animated figure first!  :)

Wow...e-books. How underwhelming.

Ya couldn't even have written a new short story?  :P

Who asked for it?  That's the last thing I want them to do.

Again, much like Legolas, there are absolutely no elves named in the book so why can't Jackson take some liberties with them?  I really don't get all of this angst about casting...it is a movie not a book, I want things to look at and if it is Evangeline Lilly so much the better :)

Because she's not being cast as "Nameless Elf #23" - the article states he specifically created a new role for her that was not in the book. Maybe that is not true, but if so it would seem worrisome at best. If he wants to throw her in as background filler or non-speaking eye candy, that's fine. Just don't make her a love interest for Legolas or whatever.

Just my two cents, I'm not all that fiercely protective of the Tolkien legacy like some freaks out there. I'm just worried this thing is going to end up looking more like King King than LOTR...shudder.

Evangeline Lilly as an elf? That's actually some pretty shrewd casting, she looks the part already.

But seriously, if they keep adding more and more characters that aren't in the book, you have to wonder what they are going to leave out. Even for two movies, eesh.

Seems like Jackson is taking a lot more creative liberty with this project.

I had to look up a picture because I had no clue who they were talking about. I actually recognize that dude. Sounds like DUI is the initial thinking.

At least he didn't kill anyone else.

I'd have to agree with GL being a B list superhero. The character never intrigued me as a comic reader and even less so as a movie goer.

Though I have to admit it's hard to shake that DC bias from my days as a comic collector. I can't think of anything from DC that I would have any interest in going to see in theatres honestly.
