I respectfully disagree, but obviously I'm biased.

I don't think this line has ever had a major problem with chronic secondary pegwarmers, not to the extent of Legends or even the Vintage collection. You've got your Yularens sure, but over a period of months most of the secondary figures seem to cycle through pretty quickly. I don't recall Hasbro ever having to do a  reclamation project on TCW like they have from time to time with the other lines (but I could be wrong).

Moreover, I think it's way to soon to draw any conclusions on these last 3 waves. Distribution is still somewhat spotty in places, and personal observances are apt to vary dramatically. You cannot easily find a Seripas or Armored Savage around here still. I think it's going to take some time before it becomes apparent what has and hasn't worked with these latest offerings. (El-Les certainly seems like the lead clunker so far, but this was an odd choice IMO, Season 3 Ahsoka or the Magnaguard would have been much better)

I just think it all comes back to character choices. Some one shot characters make for great figure choices, like Commander Jet, others not so much. I just think a character has to resonate with the fans for whatever reason, be it kids, collectors, whoever. The right figures will sell though, I am convinced, especially if released in relative proximity to the entertainment tie-in. (How many kids would love to be getting Krells right now?)

At any rate, Clone Wars stuff still seems to be moving so I can't agree with the logic to pull back on the line next year, but that stuff is out of my hands. What bothers me more than the quantity though are the selections. Even the few new figures they have previewed though seem incredibly lackluster, so I worry if those don't sell they will feel vindicated in their decision.

There's really no transparency to any of this stuff, so who really knows. It's a crazy industry.

Damn dude, just...damn. That is like a vintage wet dream right there.

BSG? Buck Rogers? If you have a shelf someplace with the full run of Black Hole or vintage LOTR figures, you are officially the God of Toys.  ;D

Why did they stop producing castings from the DROIDS prototypes? I would buy those in a heart beat. I see those things pop up on eBay from time to time but they are always half-assed customs.

Awesome collection, just awesome. I am rarely impressed by other people's stuff but this is right up my alley.

Looks like this wave is showing up at Target!

Was this the wave due out on 1/30?

Who thought it would be a good idea to sandwich a 5 week break into the middle of this arc? That is utterly asinine. There is NO reason they could not have broadcast a new episode Friday night...weak sauce.

Just need: the DVD 2packs (if they come out) and the Mando Gunship (x2) and if I'm lucky enough to be like McMetal and stumble on one more Riot Control Clonetrooper, I'll be good with the SotDS stuff...

I actually found two un-opened cases with the Riot Control Clone Trooper last night at TRU. I snagged a Riot dude plus a Barriss for my daughter. PM me if you're interested in this thing, otherwise I will probably just end up returning him. Cheers!

Whatever, I love it.

People have been giving away HOF talent to the Lakers long enough. Damn right put your foot down. They never should have gotten Gasol in the first place, that was a ridiculously unfair trade.

It's like all these stupid GM's just want to roll over and and hand LA the trophy every year just to improve their bottom line.

Competitive balance around the league just makes things better all around.

Well, for every collector whose money was left on the table because they decided to go animated, there is always someone like me who was ONLY attracted to this line in the first place because of the animated style.

This is the whole reason I am even on this website, or back into collecting at all. The animated styling brought me back. The animated figures actually look like the characters they are based on. I just like them better. I have no interest in realistic styled figures from an animated show anymore than most realistic collectors are interested in having animated figures made from the OT and PT movies. Just two different animals, we don't need some creepy abomination of a synthesis between the two.

I agree there should only be 2 lines. Vintage and Clone Wars.  ;D

Found a solitary Bastila Shan on the pegs at Walmart last night, so I felt compelled to buy her for my office display.

I personally think it would be super-cool if they would release the Son and Daughter as Deluxe sets, with their "Beast" counterparts as pack-ins.

Not sure what they could do with the Father, but I suspect he would be very low on their priority list anyway.

Saw some $12.99 Clone Trooper and Droids BP's at TJ Maxx. Also a Cad Bane Deluxe set for $9.99. Pass on both.

Crud, I missed it. I absolutely would have bought another one at that price.

Do those deals ever come back around or are they once-and-done?

Thanks, is there anyplace to find a complete listing of al the figures released in this line so far? I am thinking about getting my feet wet but would like to be selective.

I think because CW is aimed at kids, that they don't really need to make many more figures.  Sure, I could think of dozens I'd like, but the kids want the clones, and heroes.  At this point, the line should be mostly profit with little development of new product.  It's a cash cow.

That is certainly a valid viewpoint, and I'm sure Hasbro would concur, but I can't help but disagree.

I think kids enjoy variety just as much as collectors. There's tons of variety in the GI JOE line for example. You can't really simulate exciting play with just good guys, you need villains too.

If kids were only interested in core characters, then I would be picking through a sea of pegwarming Armored Savages and Seripas' while trying to find that elusive Anakin or Obi-Wan figure.

Obviously, that is not the case.

Typically in this line, the weird characters sell through pretty well. (Cato Parasitti notwithstanding) So who's buying them up? Apparently not collectors, according to Hasbro, because this is a line aimed only at kids.  ::)

I understand the need to repack core characters, but the whole argument for that is to increase profit margins in order to allocate increased funding for new tooling, character development, etc.

I think they need to strike a balance between the cash cow mentality and a more forward-thinking "let's reinvest to keep this line strong" mentality.

I hope I didn't offend anyone with my comments, there is a lot of rancor over this topic at otheR Sites I notice.

They have already claimed there would be figures forthcoming from the Mortis arc in a previous Q&A, so that is the glaring omission in my mind.

A little pre-holiday present for myself...picked up a carded DROIDS C-3PO tonight to further enhance the vintage collection. It's a nice piece too, unpunched and all. Cost a pretty penny but not at all out of line for this sort of item.

Now it's down to a carded A-Wing Pilot and a carded Boba to round out the DROIDS collection. CHA-CHING!

(Oh, and that VLIX guy ;)
