Nice redo of an already wonderful chapter, Chewie!  I guess the Skipray/ATL battle scenes are new?

Looking forward to more, as always!  :)

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Beedo Sookcool's 10th Anniversary Giveaway!
« on: September 8, 2007, 05:57 PM »
Hear hear, JediMac!  To all out there who have any doubts about the integrity of either Beedo or his contest, I have known Beedo personally for several years, and I know for a fact that:

(a) he really, truly is giving away free stuff (and GOOD free stuff too -- among which are several exclusive figures, including the McQuarrie Droids);
(b) no purchase of any sort is necessary (and thus what he is doing is NOT spamming).  All you have to do, and I mean all you have to do, is send him an e-mail;
(c) the prizes he is giving away are not "his" toys -- he bought them (and customized them) all solely for the purposes of this contest;
(d) he will not pass on anyone's e-mail address to spammers, marketing companies, etc., nor has he any interest whatsoever in doing so.

To sum up:  He really is just raffling off free stuff.  That's all there is to it.

If anyone out there does not like Beedo or his site for any reason (and it's worth bearing in mind lots of folks can't afford anything fancier than Geocities), then -- simple!  Just roll your eyes, ignore his post, and don't enter the contest.  As with any forum topic, trolling and flaming is simply uncalled for.

Wow, Chewie, this last post of your s has got to win some sort of award for "most customs in one post!"  I'm counting 28 (includein the 1:1 one ;) )!  :o How do you do it, especially now that you're a dad & all?

Where on earth to begin... As always, you're the maker of some of the most creative background people and everyday citizens, both alien and Human, that I've seen.  Just a few of the many cool details that jump out at me:

- I love the quasi-ancient-Roman facial features on that Rebel Honor Guard head (Noris S.).  That works really well for a Naboo.
- Neat to see a Duros with bare arms!  (And a greener skin tone than most -- but heck, if Humans come in all colors, why not aliens? :) )
- Fabulous transformation of the Tusken Raider outfit on Toaroff -- I would never have guessed that's what it was!
- That Pote Snitkin outfit really suits Task Ninso well.  Gives him a sort of "ghetto" look!  :)

And just a couple questions:
- How do you achieve all the fabulous weathering and paint effects that you do?  You always do fantastically at that -- you really could do a FFURG documentary thereon.
- You DID do something to make Prisoner Rykrof's hair longer, didn't you?  :)
- What color are Kiefer's eyes, exactly?  :)

All best, happy customizing, and much love to the fam! 8)

Why thank you, Anton!  I'm pretty proud of him, if I do say so myself.  I'm looking forward to seeing what Hasbro eventually comes up with.

... the Findswoman

Yes, I know Hasbro says they're eventually going to make one to round oout the bounty hunters, but what can I say?  I was impatient.  :D

I made this after Beedo suggested that the VTSC Pilot Luke would be a good base, and that is indeed what I used, though I accidentally ruined one of the Luke arms & had to replace them with VTSC Greedo ones instead.

Enjoy!  Comments always welcome!  8)

Photonovels and Movies / Re: Goofy Photocomic Preview from Finds

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!  :)

Uh...Lord Vader, I'm putting together a petition to get doughnuts in the break room.
Would you mind????

Hah, good one!  :D  Actually, you're close!  But doughnuts, yes, that's very good... I should put that in a future one of these.

What did you use for the background FW?
Looks good.

That background is just the background packaging from the Saga Imperial Briefing multipack, and was part of the reason I got that multipack -- though of course the various assorted Imperials are going to be very useful, too.  :)

Thanks again, all -- more coming soon as soon as I can finish up a brief intro!

Photonovels and Movies / Goofy Photocomic Preview from Finds
« on: June 13, 2007, 02:01 PM »
Hi all!

I know I haven't had much to say in the Photonovel forum recently, but I'm hoping that will change real soon, as I'm preparing to launch a new and rather goofy series of photocomics within the next week or so chronicling the silly escapades of a nondescript Imperial bureaucrat.  Here is a preview pic for your viewing pleasure:

Enjoy!  More soon!

Looks fabulous, Chewie!  You really are one of the masters of this photonovelling craft.  Love what you do with closeups, gestures, and expressions -- Muubaas is sceery!  :)

I too am now all nervous about what will happen to Rykrof's son.  In what chapter was he born, exactly? Does he appear at any point?  I guess he's still pretty small at this juncture.

Didn't see any naked girls, howver -- an attention-getting thing?  ;)

Flacksguy, it's great to see your fun creations here on JD, too!  Thanks for posting them!  Hilarious stuff!

And I love the girly pink bathtub in the "Julie Andrews" duel scene. (As well as C-3PO's "Pilates" dialogue -- priceless!)  Is that a Playmobil bathtub?  I would LOVE to get my hands on one...

that is a great gands woman. the fabric job looks very quality. i'm glad such a great figure was running my market stall! :)

Why thanks so much!  But we couldn't have asked for a better market stall for her to run -- that stall of yours was truly one of my favorite pieces of furniture in the diorama!  Loved all the pretty baubles 'n' beads!

what base body is under there?

It's mostly a Bespin Escape Leia, since that one's nice and small, but I replaced Leia's legs (which are perennially fixed in a sort of running position) with the legs from Vintage "4-LOM."  I also replaced Leia's 5-fingered Human hands with the three-fingered ones from Djas Puhr.

Thanks again!  :)

On a completely different note... I have just finished posting on my website some of the customs that I sent in to the Ultimate Group Project (UGP) and which appeared in the UGP diorama at Celebration IV.

Here, first of all, are some general group photos of the gals I sent in.

And the little Gand Findswoman in gold gets her own page.

Do enjoy, all!

This is a really neat feature, JJ -- can't believe I hadn't really noticed it before!  Will continue to check back.  How often do you plan to update these, kjust out of curiosity?

1:6 Scale Figures and Collectibles / Re: Sideshow Gift Card
« on: June 5, 2007, 10:41 AM »
So, let's hear what people are buying with their Sideshow giftcards!  I just ordered 2 of these to customize with -- I'd really like to do a 12" Sly Moore, and thought this would be a perfect base.  I still wish I could have gotten the 12" Asajj, though... :(

Rate...quote...engine? Website? What's that?  ???

Oh, I think he just means things like the rate calculator on where you enter the weight, zip code, etc. of the thing you're going to send, and it tells you how much it will cost.  Other shippers' sites will probably have similar things -- links will probably be on their main page.

Chewie, so sorry to see that so much of your wonderful scenery came back damaged!  :( My things fortunately came back okay, but then I just had figures rather than scenery.  Best of luck with the fixing -- hope it works out.

... the Findswoman

Well, I fixed the Luke-headed fellow -- just shoved the head further down!  So here's how he looks now.

Perhaps it's still a little long -- but heck, he's just eye candy for the background, so it's no biggie.  Hope you enjoy all the same!
