Well over at you know where, there are pics of the five packs - and they are exactly as I predicted - rehashes.

Yeah, those are the 5-pack battle builders that we have been discussing for a while now over here.

These are NOT the Target exclusives mentioned in the first post... at least I don't think so because almost all of the e-tailers are taking pre-orders for them.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Wal-Mart "Early Bird" Exclusive
« on: April 1, 2005, 02:08 PM »
Hasbro would have to be completely off of their rocker to introduce a new scale - odds are they won't cuz they wouldn't fit in the early bird display!  Right?

But it didn't stop them from doing the same thing to GI Joe...

I mean the fans want something similar to VOTC - if Hasbro introduced a new scale, all of our ships, accessories and secondary characters would be completely obsolete.

Yeah, meaning that you'd have to buy all new ships and and accessories which they happen to also be making, just like GI Joe.  Hasbro seems to think that if they did do a new scale, the fans would all start over - buying new X-Wings, new TIEs, new figures, etc etc etc.

While it may not seem likely right now, I wouldn't put it past Hasbro to try a new scale.   They keep trying various ways to test a new scale (PotJ Mega Figures, RotS Force Battlers), I think it's only a matter of time that they try it for real, just like they are doing with GI Joe this year.

Of course, if the new scale GI Joe line flops horrible this fall (and it seems like it may becaue I know a LOT of Joe Collectors who are pissed about no more 3.75" figures) that could of course change everything.

How much do these cups run?

I believe that they run about $10 each.  And, it would seem they will be packed evenly per case 2x Grievous, 2x Obi-Wan, 2x Clone so tracking down 8 of them might be a pretty hard thing to do...

Thanks for the info Jeff, I'm personally excited about more glass sets, although I know they aren't everyone's cup of tea.  Anyways, it looks like SirSteve's has some pics up confirming the first wave of Grievous, Obi, and the Clone.

Looks like the SSG pics came from eBay:

I like the fact that the cup is different for each.

I kinda wish that I would have known about this sooner, I'd have skipped the Preview Grievous to buy this set.

I guess I'll end up buying 1 of each now...

March was slow, but I still managed spend stick around my budgeted $100 thanks to the early RotS vehicle score...

Unfortunately, this weekend should pretty much blow away my April/May/June/July budgets in one swoop!  If only I had known back in January that there could be 40 new figures in April...  :-\

 ::)

I said it before and I'll say it again:
Make a frickin' decision and stick with it ya bastards!   >:(

RS - Yes Yoda will be at MM
TRU - he's out Apr-10th
PW - MM TRUs will have Yoda
PW - Uh, maybe not out after all

What sucks is that now, I'll probably still head to TRU tonight just in case Yoda shows up since no one has a ******* clue as to what the hell is going on...

Well you're in luck then.  It's $19.99.

Too expensive for my taste unless it's electronic or something.   >:(

Keep in mind that while the EE/etailer price is $20, it's likely to be a bit lower (like $15-16) at Target/TRU/Wal-Mart I think...

I've sent word to my Targt contacts, but have yet to receive any answers about what the deal is with the Cup Exclusive and any of the later exclusives.   :'(

Got an e-mail tonight with a possible update:

Target RotS Figure w/Cup Sets

General Grievous w/Cup
Obi-Wan Kenobi w/Cup
Clone Trooper w/Cup

No pictures yet, nor do I have any idea which versions the figures are included or if they are re-packs...

Matt,  on the left hand side of the main page where you have the fourm, chat room, etc buttons one of them is links.  If you click on that there is a RS link which takes you to RS.  I would post a screen shot of it if I knew how and had the time.

http://www.jedidefender.com/links.php

Thanks for pointing it out, I hadn't noticed that...

I'd like to think we can take the higher road and not sink to the petty level that has brought us to this point. :)

You'd think so, but when my ass gets banned for nothing more than being buds with JediMAC?

Gone.   :)

I just went in there and "updated" the page and dumped the RS linky...  8)

My preseason picks:
Central - Indians

Hey!  No picking the Indians allowed in this thread...  :P

I'll cut you some slack though because if it weren't for that, your picks would look a lot like mine.   ;)

Wow...so because you work for JD you've been shown the door

Yes, the PM that I received inferred that because I am JD Staff I was no longer welcome, simple as that.

I won't lose any sleep over it though, that's for sure...

Revenge of the Sith / Re: RotS - Deluxe Figures
« on: March 31, 2005, 01:18 PM »
From places that are pre-selling the Wave 3 cases, they are shipping with:

Deluxe Wave 3:
Clone Troopers
Crab Droid (w/Walking Action, like the CW Spider Droid)
Stass Allie w/Speederbike (not sure if it's a BARC or regular bike)
NEW Spider Droid

Due in June/July...

I would assume they'd have enough sense to ship a few extra Trooper 3-packs, but this is Hasbro we are talking about...  :-\
