Ah, nice to be back on top not in last place.

Even if it's only for a day.   ;D

Into 7th and looking to make a real run for that #6 spot.   :)

Man, if only my team would have played like this all year long (10-15pts per night).  The Gabby/Demitra duo is finally paying off and my team has managed (knock on wood) to stay healthy for a while.  With only 20+ games left, I don't think my team has anywhere near enough left in the tank to get into that top #1-5 cluster (80 points is a lot of ground), but at this point I'd be happy with a middle of the pack finish after spending so much time in dead last this year.   :-\

Cause that looks a lot like the same repainted removable helmet AT-TE tank gunner from EIII #38 that we got twice already.

When the Saga Legends stuff was originally announced, Dan Curto said and Hasbro later confirmed later that the 501st Trooper in the Saga Legends assortment will be the ROTS #41 sculpt with 501st colors (basically Appo minus the Pauldron, plus the Antenna).

From Rebelscum:
Quote
501st Clone Trooper (originally MIA)
Speaking of clones from Revenge of the Sith...remember when the Tactical Ops Trooper was shown at Comic-Con 2005, and it sported the Super-Articulated body, but the actual figure ended up being a repainted AT-TE Tank Gunner? This happened because of the tooling available at the time, but isn't it time we saw this SA figure?

Well guess what? We're going to. Look for the SA body repainted in 501st colors at long last! So while technically this is a new figure, somehow I don't think anyone will mind. (and if you do, then you can blame me, because I asked for this one.)
Packed with Episode III coin.

The pic that EE has for Wave 2 might just be a photoshop job as that 501st in that wave is supposed to have the #41 body...

Celebration IV - Ultimate Group Project / Re: Still waiting on LFL....
« on: February 14, 2007, 11:19 AM »
I've decided that we will keep the booth and offer it up to Kris or someone else to use.

Wow.  I don't have a lot to do with the UGP anymore, but I have to say that is a terrible idea.

A lot of fan groups are competing for those free booths.  They took the time to put together an application and send it in to GenCon.  If you get one of the free booths and then turn around and offer it to another group, that is pretty lame IMHO.

I am pretty sure that LFL and GenCon set up the booth approval process for a reason and that reason wasn't to decide which groups get to give their booths away.   If you don't end up needing your booth, you should probably let LFL/GenCon know so they can give it to another Fan Club who took the time to go through the approval process instead of you just giving it to whoever you feel like.

In your application, you submitted the names of people who wished to use the booth for a specific purpose... think LFL/GenCon is going to be happy with those people to see a totally different group in your booth, especailly if it is a group that they never approved to be there, especailly when there are other fan groups they turned down so you could be there?

Just something to think about...

doesn't that seem just a tad arrogant?  "sure tolkein made a cute little story, but mine is faaaar more sophisticated."  Should I be turned off already?

No, I don't think you should be turned off from that statement.

In essence, the LOTR series is "just" about Frodo and the Ring... you can really boil it down to that if you needed to trim the fat.  Sure the other characters are important, but the ring drives the story.

The Fire and Ice books are waaaaay more complicated than LOTR with dozens of Main Characters who come and go and interact/intersect in different ways.   I guess maybe it does come off as a bit arrogant the way he said it, but it's probably true - each of his books (and there will be 7 when he's done) could probably be made into 2-3 movies like he said.

You could say the same thing about Harry Potter - some of the books have so much going on that you could make two movies out of one book if you wanted to split them.  It doen't mean that HP is "better" than LOTR, just that there is more stuff going on.  Same here I think...

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: Target Exclusive Order 66 2-Packs
« on: February 13, 2007, 10:26 AM »
Yeah Anton, I think you're probably right.  I wouldn't be surprised to see figure swapping as people swap out the new Clones for old Clones, especially with a fresh supply of old clones re-shipping in the Legends waves.

Wonder if any later waves will show up at big lots or other discount stores.

Hasbro said they may show up in the future, but right now they have no plans to release anything past the 3PO/Grievous wave in the USA.  They did say that some samples of the Luke/Maul are out there, but the rest will most likely never see the light of day.

It's pretty obvious looking at Hasbro Toy Fair that all their Titanium Figure resources are being used by Transformers and Spider-Man/Ghost-Rider/Marvel because of the upcoming movies.  I guess they didn't want to stretch the market too thin so they dropped SW...

Until they get here, here are a few high-res images to tide you over.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Battlestar Galactica...who's watching?

Interesting episode last night, but a little slow I thought...  I guess I just wished there was more Six/Sharon/Baltar and Lee/Starbuck and less Helo/Crazy Doctor.

Next week looks interesting though... more action anyway.

You can't really see it very well in our Royal Guard pic, but you can see it in this one.

I believe it is in the deformed style, but it is a little hard to tell with the cloak/robe.
