Silver exclusive figures are going to be phased out. Apparently after the Sandtrooper, we probably won't see any for a while, if ever

Good.  I am tired of the Silver Figures... I throught it was played out with the TRU clone, but I can handle one more (the Sandtrooper).

I sure hope that the exclusives don't move to being simple re-cards though, but I fear this is where they will head... OTC Emperor, OTC Ephant Mon, OTC Tat Luke, OTC Anakin, etc.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: OTC Package Insert
« on: June 18, 2004, 12:01 PM »
I was excited to see the return of the insert... one of my side collections.  I've got one of every little insert they've done, including a bunch from Hasbro's GI Joe days too.  (The vintage SW Kenner ones were much cooler).

I too, must agree that this little brochure is designed for kids to bring to Mom and Dad to say "gotta catch 'em all!"  Proving once again that this OTC wasn't as thrown together as they want us to believe.  I'm pretty sure they had all these repacks planned the whole time >:(

This has NOTHING to do with PotF2, but since it came up, I noticed this on eBay while looking for pictures of new stuff...

From a Cloud City Scalpers Collectables vOTC Han Solo eBay auction:

Quote
Note that the figures have been removed from their Hasbro issued plastic cases. AFA has indicated that they will grade these new vintage style figures both sealed in the plastic cases and out of the cases. However, the fee for grading these figures in their plastic cases will fall under their custom tier for an extra $15.

Looks like AFA will go either way, depending on what you want.  Take it out of the Hasbro Clamshell for regular price, leave it in the Hasbro clamshell for "custom size" pricing ($15 more).

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Marketing Plan Revealed for EP3?
« on: June 18, 2004, 10:43 AM »
My dream would be a series of glasses for Episode III at BK, but with safety precautions (ugh) these days, I doubt it will happen.  The BK glasses from the OT are my favorite items of that era, believe it or not, and to have them made for Episode III would make me extremely happy.

Well, Arby's has those Holiday glasses give-aways, so I think it could be done.  As long as it is sold as a housewares GLASS, and not a pack-in with a Kid's Meal, it should be do-able.  The only reason the Hasbro glasses are plastic is because they are sold with a Toy, as a "toy".  No way a "toy" for kiddies is gonna be glass, but a $0.99 glass with purchase at BK would have me eating a whole lotta Whoppers next summer...

Besides the first song, the rest of their songs SUCK.  So I have Track 1 on repeat

:P (and a hearty good riddance to that one too, eh?)

Anyway, here's my selection to get me through the day at work:

Needless to say, I've got my headphones on, as some of these tracks are a bit risque... especially track #10 or Track #14.

Original Trilogy Collection / OTC Package Insert
« on: June 18, 2004, 09:20 AM »
Hiya,

GalacticHunter.com has a cool feature on the Endor Ambush set... but of course, since the set is full o'lame re-packs, the interesting part is the new OTC insert!

Check out the GH.com coverage here for the Endor Ambush stuff or clicky on the picture below for the Insert goodies:

Nice to see the little package catalogs return!

And is there a place that has archived hi-res scans of the sticker sheet that's available for DL?

Vintage Falcon:

PotF2 Falcon:

Just print them out and go crazy!

Lots of other Vintage and PotF2 sticker sheets are there too.  Another great place to go for Sticker Sheet DLs is gadders.com (mainly vintage though).

[snip]
I'd like to see the Wolves go after a Center and a PF to try and spell KG a little bit and make some good matchup difficulty at SF

[snip]
Also read a few days ago at ESPN that the Lakers might/should consider trading Shaq and keeping Kobe since he's younger, more motivated and has a lot more upside.  I tend to agree with that but there aren't too many teams around that can take on Shaq's bloated contract

My brother seems to think the Wolves should go after Rasheed Wallace, but why would he leave Detroit?!?  Another name he keeps throwing at me is Eric Dampier from Golden State.  I'm not sure how easy it would be to get either though...

I'm not worried about it, I'm hoping to steal a PF in the draft... what do we have, like the #29 pick for best record in the West, right?   :-X (Thanks again Joe Smith >:()
Oh well, there's always Ndudi Ebi, right ;)

And I'd love to see Kobe head to NY too so we don't see as much of him as well...

A Special value-pack will be available at Samís Club.

Huh?  What do you suppose they mean by that?  Maybe an OTC Falcon packed with a OTC Han and OTC Chewie?

Ding Ding Ding!

Looks like the obvious choices of Han and Chewie as the pack-ins is correct.

Eh, I can pass on the special pack since I've already got those two figures...

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Has Anyone Built a Deck Before?
« on: June 17, 2004, 10:26 AM »
Yeah, that's kinda what I figures.  The cordless Craftsman rocks at putting furniture together, doing small house projects (hanging shelves, etc), but I figured it wasn't gonna cut it under heavy use.

I've got a DeWalt Mitre Saw that I bought last year to help with installation of hardwood floors and the new trim we put in all of our bedrooms.  It's been a great saw so far, so it's nice to hear another testimony that they are good tools.

Might just have to hit Menards and Home Depot this weekend for a little shopping...

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Why did you select your avatar?
« on: June 17, 2004, 10:00 AM »
Here at JD.com, I currently suffer from avatar-ADD, which manifests itself by causing me to constantly change my avatars.  They usually only last a week or two, then it's time for a change.  That way, I get to show-off my mad avatar photoshop skillz.   :P

Over at Scum, my avatar is a vintage DS Commander.  I figured it was appropriate since all scum posters are pretty much under the control of the Grand Emperor and his henchmen.  [Triumph: I Keeeeeed!]
