I gotta agree with those above...

During the PotF2 days, there was some grumbling about re-cards, but there were always more NEW figures than re-packs.  And, when the Red Card figures were repacked from the Red card to the Green Card most were only a year or two old, and it was only the second carded version.  Not a lot of reason to complain yet.  When they were re-packed for FF and then over-shipped by a LARGE amount, that's when the complaining started for most people.

I'd also add, that the biggest reason there is SO much complaining about re-packs now is due to the sheer volume of them.  If they had chosen to simply re-card Cantina Han for the Saga line, then the OTC, I'd have no problem with that.  Once a year at the MAX... and I'd still understand they are just trying to keep that figure available.

The problem I DO have is that the same figure (Cantina Han) has been recarded/repacked to death this year... at least 4 times in the last 16 months:

Saga 2003
Saga HoF
OTC
Pack-In with Sam's Club Falcon
* and potentially a 5th time with a new Cup set

Can you say overkill?  The same figure in FIVE different forms over 16 months is TOO MANY.  Completely different from re-issueing the figure ONCE per year on a new card!  If they had found a way to spread out the different Han sculpts over all those re-packs, there'd be less complaining for sure...

So, that's my biggest beef with the repacks.  Not that they are repacking figures, but the sheer volume of repacking the SAME figure five times over the last year!

Scrapple, you just fry and eat.  Great stuff.

Uh... from the linked story:
"Scrapple may contain pork skin, pork heart, pork liver, pork tongue - even pork brains."

 :o

I'll pass.   ;)

That'd be good news if it is the same figure in a baggie, then I could skip it.

If he's got some nifty package, I'll probably want one...

Seems like it.

Hasbro announced today that they'll be showing off Wal-Mart exclusive C-3PO and Darth Vader carry cases at this year's SDCC booth.

Yea!   More re-hashed goodness!  ::)

Once upon a time, the GH Seer, The Swami, predicted these may come with a figure as well, but no official confirmation on that.

Anyone gonna actually buy these?

Not me... unless they do have pack-ins which are new, but somehow I highly doubt that.  :(

Mmmmm deep fried cheese curds.... there's a fast food chain in Wisconsin and parts of Illinois called Culver's that has the greatest deep fried cheese curds on the planet. I didn't even know they existed until I visited one last year and now my appreciation for deep fried cheese products has vastly increased. :)

Just an FYI in case you ever make it out here, but Culver's has invaded Minnesota too!  Quickly becoming a family favorite dur to the tasty frozen treats and quick butter-burgers which are much tastier than BK or McD's!

And, speaking as one who has tried both, I'd still go with the MN State Fair Fried Cheese Curds.  There's something about frying food in the super heat of late August in MN that makes those littel buggers even better... no restaurant can quite capture that mystique!

Got my Bespin wave figures today!

CCP - very cool.  I checked it out and the Helmet doen't look too shabby on the few Army-Builder heads I have laying around, so there'll be a few customs of him in the future for me :)  Also, he much less "leaning" then lead to believe from the photos.  Very nice and neutral.

Lobot- Such a HUGE improvement from PotF2.  Very cool little CPU Accessory, and for what ever reason, his head-band is removable!

Leia- ugh.  Well, she's new and OTC, so I can't fault her on that, but she isn't as nice as I was hoping due to the dress and the fact that she seems a bit small compared to Chewie and PotJ Bespin Han.

Luke- OK, so he's not really part of the "Bespin wave" per se, but he is new and from Bespin so...  :)  This new Bespin Luke is a HUGE improvement from the Saga version.  The magnet hand is a little annoying, but the paint apps are superb!

Check out Jared's comparison photos here for a better idea of the changes.  If you're on the Fence about Luke, pick him up and you'll see he's a LOT better than the Saga version!

Since this will give us 2 cups per movie, they technically owe us 2 Ep3 cups/figures. How are they going to rehash figures that aren't out yet?

Don't tempt them, there's always Vader, 3PO, R2, or Chewie they could fit in there somehow I'm sure. ::)

Just a thought...

Ep3 re-hash #1 - Vader?
Ep3 re-hash #2 - Palpatine/Emperor/Sidious?

Might be easy enough to do.  Use MotDS Vader for one cup, then use Saga Emperor or Ep1 Sidious for the other cup.  No muss/no muss for Hasbro!

Well, I don't know if the Thunderbirds: GO! movie will suck or not, but the preview sucked IMHO.

Maybe the movie will be good, but the preview sure didn't make me want to see it... Ben Kingsley?  Huh?  :-\

I like the glasses, but the figures themselves... ugh.

You're right Brian...

CT Han (Cantina)
2003 Gold Stripe Card
2004 Hall of Fame Card
2004 OTC Card
OTC Falcon pack-in
Cup set pack-in

Uh... ok.  We get it.  It's a nice figure!  Move on Hasbro!

I saw Spider-Man 2 this weekend, and before it, I saw a preview for...

Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid

What the heck?  Didn't they already make this movie?  Was anyone REALLY demanding a sequel to the J-Lo / Ice-Cube "classic"  :-X?

Ick ick ick.

In fact, ALL of the previews I saw before Spider-Man 2 sucked:
Catwoman
Anacondas
Sleepover
Thunderbirds

One parting thought... Anyone else kind of interested to see "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle"?  Sort of a stoner Bill and Ted for the next generation?

Finally got around to seeing this on Sunday...

Very good movie.  I really liked it, and I think I liked it better than the first one.  I can see that they are really thinking ahead, because (as others have already said), there were lots of little clues/foreshadowing for upcoming events.

I liked the way Molina handled Doc Ock.  I also liked the way that Molina "fit" the Doc Ock persona.  No need for a rippled-Ab super-villian, Doc Ock had all the extra flab a sciencey-type dork would have ;)

Anyway, just wanted to add on my kudos on a job well done.  If you haven't seen it yet, add my name to the growing list of those who highly recommend it!
